October Afternoon Sasparilla | Monday Craft Madness #37

Howdy Part'ners! (Sorry, I couldn't resist) We are back again with another addition of Monday Craft Madness and this week we have gone country - insert favorite country song here -. Working with October Afternoon's Sasparilla collection was a blast for me this week. I am not a super country girl, but this collection was a perfect to use for our continuing collection for Operation Write Home (see below for more details). This week's theme is:

Here are the cards I created:

This one is probably my favorite. I love lots of little elements (and lots of pop dots). In addition to the patterned paper, I used the chip stick, journal cards, stickers and layered four of the pieces from the flower sack for my sentiment.

So this one is probably a very close second in my favorite category. Girl power, ya know. Again I love using lots of tid bits to add dimension to a project.

I also created a simple card with a simple sentiment (again layering with items from the flower sack).

Don't we all want to be happy? I love the reminder of that in this card. Using the journal card as my sentiment with a few stickers, really makes the sentiment come across. I also added a little flyer. I loved the set of little flyers and how I could create my own.

Now for the details of participating with us in helping Operation Write Home. You can start sending cards to us at any time, to arrive no later than September 15.

Please read through and follow all of the Operation Write Home guidelines. All cards must be 4.25″ x 5.5″ - half a sheet of cardstock – with an included envelope and NO glitter. Please do not write your own messages in the card as these will be used by service men and women to write home to their loved ones. They are very grateful for these cards and they mean a lot, so let's use our best materials and really show them how much we appreciate their service! (Read the rest of the guidelines here.)

Mail the cards to us so they arrive no later than September 15, and we will organize and send them to our troops. Now not only have you done some therapeutic and fun crafting, you've given a service member and their family a treasured gift!
