American Crafts Dear Lizzy, Neapolitan

Isn't it the best when we have a surprise Thursday guest blogger? Nothing like adding a little scoop of crafty inspiration to your otherwise possibly "vanilla" sort of day. For grins and giggles let's just add a scoop of strawberry and chocolate to that vanilla and make it a Neapolitan.

Take a peek as the incredibly talented, and oh so amazing to work with Katrina Hunt, takes us on a flavorful tour with today's steal the American Crafts, Dear Lizzy-Neapolitan collection.

Hi, I am Katrina Hunt from “Paper, Scissors and Glue." I am so happy to be blogging on the ScrapbookSteals blog today! When I heard that I was going to get to work with today’s steal, the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection, excitement doesn’t even begin to describe it.

I have created three projects for you today, two layouts and a banner. I still have a lot of product left over to create more projects with. This is definitely a steal.

A friend of mine had a puppy party to socialize her litter of puppies and I had to take my camera for pictures. The colors in this collection are soft and muted, so I thought they would be perfect to create a layout with one of the pictures I took at the party.

I actually started the idea of both my layouts with the title. I knew I wanted to use the Phrase Garlands in my titles. The neat thing about them is that you can adjust the letters, which I did on both of my layouts. Then I trimmed the ribbon off and reattached the bows.

I also used my Silhouette Cameo on my projects. I cut the “puppy breath” phrase above and here is a close up of the heart row at the top.

My next layout, as I said before, started with the title. I wanted to show that you can use the busier papers in the collection, you just need to combine them with more subtle papers, which this collection has plenty of!

I love dimension in my projects and these little flowers have them! The best part is you can adjust those tags to how you want them laying. I ended up cutting out the camera from the 12x12 sheet of paper it came on, trimmed it down and then slid it into my flower bloom. I love that it added a little extra.

My last project today is a banner that I decided to create at the last-minute after I had my two layouts done. I just wanted to keep playing with this collection! I cut my banner base on my Cameo out of American Crafts cardstock and just used two different shapes. I then sewed, a couple of different papers on each panel. I added on of the flower blooms in the center with some left over banner pieces I had and then one of the pinwheels from the collection on each end. I wanted to add a little something to the end panels, so the wooden buttons were the perfect little touch.

I hope you will stop by my blog, Paper, Scissors and Glue. I will have close ups of each of the banner panels on there!

Thank you ScrapbookSteals for letting me create with this wonderful collection and to guest blog today!
