I know you're likely looking for a sketch for this week's Monday Card Madness, but I wanted to take a break today to share with you something that you've given me. Happiness. Tears (in a good way). Inspiration. In short, joy.
One of our amazing ScrapbookSteals friends and fans took it upon herself to organize a secret little project to send me birthday cards and an amazing gift from so many of you dear friends whom I've been blessed to "know" and have grown to love as true sisters.
Each week I genuinely look forward to and love being able to provide creative inspiration for you. It's one of the highlights of every day to see how a simple sketch can be interpreted into so many wonderful ideas. However, I have to tell you that the "joy" package sent to me is by far, the greatest payday that I've ever had in the 18 months that I've been here to help inspire you. You will never know the impact that it's had on my life, and I thank you.
It took quite some time for me to open and read all of the cards as there were many tears and I wanted to relish in the thoughts and design of each one, taking them truly to heart. I just wanted to share with you a portion from one card which truly touched my heart (and soaked some tissues) and brought to realization that the vision which we at ScrapbookSteals, have had for our community, is real.
"I can't even begin to express what it means to be a part of such a fantastic community of girls. I feel like I have spent half my life searching for a sense of belonging, and I never would have imagined that I'd find it online with people located all across North America. There are no words that can adequately express my gratitude for the community at ScrapbookSteals and for the effort you put forth to show us how much you care about us. I know of no other business that would give so much of themselves to their customers."
I want to take a quick moment to invite any and all of you that have been quietly lurking in the shadows to come forward and introduce yourself. There is always a warm seat just waiting for you to come and fill it up! You will be blessed with not only ideas and inspiration from so many talented artists, but I can only imagine that you will find some pretty fantastic, lifelong friends as well.
Thank you again to each and every one of you. You've touched lives.
My challenge for this week remains the same -- send out joy. If you provide even a fraction of the positive impact that you've had on my life, this world can't help but become a better place.
