Altered Frame Inspired by Simply Handmade

Hands down, today's steal the Northridge Media Idea Books are my favorite go-to for inspiration. In fact I have been an avid fan of them since their very first issue of Cards in December of 2005. If ever I'm feeling a creative drought, one of the always inspiring idea books is where I turn.

I love that Northridge has expanded their idea book collection over the years. Simply Handmade has quickly become one of my favorites, as I'm always looking for new ideas of fun things to alter.

I used the April/May issue of Simply Handmade as my source of inspiration for today's Fantastic Friday project.

Every time I get a new issue I add sticky notes to the projects that inspire me. When I came across the "Dream It. Then Do It" frame by Kate Ryskamp, my inspiration was born. I wanted to create a fun home decor with hand stitching.

I love how the hand stitching compliments the paper art on her frame.

After stitching my flowers I used some markers and chalks to add color then cut out some stems from cardstock. I inked the edges, added a coating of Old Lace glimmer mist, some Thickers along the bottom and my frame was complete.

Now to announce the winner of our baby shower giveaway! I made this fun, boy-themed baby shower kit last week with My Mind's Eye Portobello Road Collection Kit.

The lucky winner is...

Tiffany Herbst

I hope you have an amazing weekend! Happy scrappin'!
