Sew Easy | Mid Week Mojo #42

Sew Easy | Mid Week Mojo #42

Ahhh — what’s not to love about today’s steal, the Sew Easy by We R Memory Keepers. I know so many of you out there have been waiting ever so patiently for its return, and let me tell you — it was well worth the wait! The new stitching heads are positively amazing.

I had so much fun working the “Lazy Daisy” stitching head into the focus of this weeks Mid Week Mojo sketch.

I have always been an admirer of the fancy stitches in needle work, but it’s just not a talent that I possess. I guess I should figure if I’m still struggling to finish a Christmas piece that I started in 1994, that maybe needle work isn’t my thing.  😉

Having the Sew Easy made it easy to make some of those fancy stitches on this layout about my recent meet up with some of our North Western ScrapbookStealers!

The straight stitch is one of my favorites. I love getting the perfect size of stitch with a simple roll of the tool. Brilliance, I tell ya—brilliance!

Now it’s time for the much-anticipated random winner of last week’s amazing sketch by Sheryl. Our lucky winner this week is Stephanie Umpbleby.

Stephanie has treated us week after week after week with layouts featuring a trip that she had to Europe. I’ve loved seeing a peek into her travels and am so happy that we will be able to supply her with a little something extra to keep those pages coming. Stephanie, if you’d like to send your address to service@scrapbooksteals.com, we will be happy to get a prize sent out to you.

I hope your day is absolutely scrap-tastic! Now if I could just head back to Washington so I could hang out with these wonderful scrappy sisters some more. That would be fantastic.

Welcome Guest Sketcher Sheryl Kloke | Mid Week Mojo #41

Welcome Guest Sketcher Sheryl Kloke | Mid Week Mojo #41

I’m so excited about our first guest sketcher of the Gold Club series, Sheryl Kloke. Each week she truly inspires with her creations and now it’s her turn to inspire all of you with today’s steal, the We R Memory Keepers, Merry January collection and this week’s mojo sketch.

To say that I was thrilled when Kristy asked me to be a guest sketcher is an understatement! Then I found out that I was going to be working with WRMK “Merry January” and I was a bit concerned… Yes I live in the great white north known as Canada, but I do not like winter! So going through my pictures I found that I take mostly scenery pictures in the winter…and then hurry back inside where it’s warm! I decided to go back in time, and sure enough I found pictures of my kids having lots of fun in winter.

But this wonderful collection is good for so much more than just snow pictures. The colours are so beautiful! The soft aquas and tans are perfect for beach pictures too.

This collection even works perfectly for making cards.

I would like to thank ScrapbookSteals  for giving me this opportunity. I hope everyone enjoys working with the sketch!

Sheryl, thank you so much for sharing your talents with us!
Now for the big anticipated event—to find out who our lucky winners are. First off, our random winner of our weekly drawing is Staci Jones.

We would also like to take a moment to thank all of you amazing scrappers that have stepped it up, once again, and have completed layouts week after week. You should be so thrilled with your accomplishments.
Now we’d like to congratulate commenter #46, Heather Gray .
She is the lucky random winner of our Sapphire Club card kit prize. I actually had to squeal a little as she is truly a passionate card maker. Way to go on completing layouts 31 – 40!

Good luck to all of you as we begin our journey to Gold Club status. Have a great day and scrap happy!

Mini Albums—Half Pint Style

Mini Albums—Half Pint Style

Mini albums—that spectacular creation for either a heartfelt gift or a low time commitment project. I love them! I particularly love today’s steal, the Half Pint Albums by We R Memory Keepers, because they are just like working with a full scale album—but smaller. And let’s face it, small =’s cute! I love the freedom of creating my own pages then slipping them in a page protector. It truly results in unlimited creative freedom.

If you’ve never created a mini album the ideas are endless. Here are a few to get your creative ideas flowing.

  • Baby shower or bridal shower gift
  • Wedding gift
  • Wedding reception registry book
  • 12 month overview of your child
  • 1st day of school overview (create a spread for grades K – 12)
  • A “happy thoughts” book
  • Recipe holder
  • Vacation album
  • Teacher gift (have all of the kids in the class draw a picture then drop them in the page protectors)

For today’s blog post I decided to create two different albums.

First off I decided to make a recipe book for “My Sugar Girls.” My two sweet teenage daughters have started their own baking business in an effort to raise all of their fees for marching band. I’m continually finding the recipes spread around the kitchen and slopped with baking ingredients. I thought it would be nice and helpful for them (as well as a sanity saver for me), to have all of their favorite recipes in one convenient album. It will be nice for them for quick reference and will also make a great keepsake down the road when they have families of their own to bake for.

For my second album I couldn’t resist creating an album to document all of the wonderful ScrapbookSteals sisters that I have had the pleasure of meeting since being a part of the ScrapbookSteals family. So many of you have touched my life so greatly and I can’t wait to add more to my album (including photos with those of you that I have met but don’t have photos of). I’m so excited that I will actually have the opportunity for a little girly time this Sunday when I will get to meet up with six more of these wonderful women after my 1/2 marathon! Just wish you could all be there.

I hope you have a great weekend. I know I will! :)

See you Monday!

Designer Card Kits | Monday Card Madness #27

Designer Card Kits | Monday Card Madness #27

We all have those times, where we’d love to be creative and crafty and that darn mojo has gone on vacation! Well today’s steal, the We R Memory Keepers, Designer Card Kit Collections are the perfect answer for when you want to play with paper and don’t know what to do.

It’s pretty fantastic that each kit comes with step by step instructions for all eight cards.

I have swooned over the Fun Fetti papers ever since I first saw them, so of course I had to make some of the birthday cards.

The fact that I have a stash of birthday cards on hand that I didn’t have to lose a creative brain cell over makes me smile.

I love the color combination of the Maple Grove card kit.

I also love how easily you can add a personal touch to a pre-designed card to make it a little more unique. You can see where I added Thickers and stitching to make this card more my own.

I added a little bit of ribbon to this card and a different rub-on sentiment to make a darling birthday card for someone that celebrates their birthday in the fall.

I loved the cards in this collection so much I decided to base this week’s card sketch off of the gratitude card from the kit.

I made the card a little more generic by changing the sentiment.

Then I had fun creating a card for this week’s Monday Card Madness without an ounce of creative stress.

Even though it’s not Halloween, I couldn’t help but get a wee bit excited over the bewitching patterns of the Heebie Jeebies card collection. I’ve never sent out Halloween cards before, but I think with this collection that will change, beginning this year!

Can you believe it’s been another month filled with card making? I’ve filled my month sending out joy. In fact, my girls and I have even been the recipients of a little joy, which truly brightened our day. Thanks to you lovely ladies that have touched our hearts.

Now for our lucky monthly winner. A huge applause for Van Nguyen, our random winner for the March card sketches.

Spring has Sprung! (Monday Card Madness #21)

Spring has Sprung! (Monday Card Madness #21)

It’s official, I’m tired of winter. I’m sick of the rainy, snowy, cold, dreary world.  The good news is today’s steal, the We R Memory Keepers Hippity Hoppity Collection is a perfect diversion from the winter blahs!

This collection is so filled with cheerful colors and designs I couldn’t help myself and ended up creating four different cards for today’s Monday Card Madness.

For this week’s sketch, I decided to go with something a little whimsical since these papers make me want to find a nice grassy hill to roll down like I did as a child.

I  made a few more cards using the awesome layered chipboard tags which come with today’s steal.  These are the perfect addition to any card as they add dimension but without a fuss!

Please keep sharing your Monday Card Madness creations on our Facebook fan page or your personal blog. Leave a comment here with a link to your creation and you will be eligible for our monthly drawing of a little scrappy prize to help keep the card-making continue strong!

Remember, our challenge to not only make the cards, but send them out to spread a little joy.  I’ve truly loved taking the time each week to write a special note to someone that has touched my life.

Be sure to check in tomorrow for the final installment of our scrap space organization series. We will also announcing the winner of the My Minds Eye giveaway. One more reminder, you have until midnight tonight to get your Ruby Club Mid-Week Mojo entries posted to be eligible for the prize. What is Mid-Week Mojo? Check it out here.
