We R Memory Keepers

We R Memory Keepers Anthologie Collection | Mid Week Mojo

Coral – Layout 2

There are two things that make me really, really happy. (Okay, there are a bunch but you get the idea). Mid Week Mojo and We R Memory Keepers. Imagine my delight when that superstar of a buyer Brittany Perry told me I’d be fortunate enough to work with today’s steal, the We R Memory Keepers Anthologie Collection. Yessiree, it just doesn’t get better than this! Perfect embellishments, a soothing and unique color palate, and subtle vintage designs are the perfect recipe for some good crafty fun!

As I was sifting through my printed photos I settled on this sweet photo of my boys who both crawled into my bed one morning fell back to sleep. As crazy as they make me at times with their fighting and screaming, it’s moments like this that make every moment that is tough absolutely worth it. Perfect little angels!

For the base of my layout I used one of the bracket die cut sheets in the collection and cut it down. I also cut a strip off of the doily edged die cut sheet to complete my border.

I love the mix of papers in this collection. I used my Silhouette to cut out some hearts and varied the prints to show off a great variety of the collection.

I also loved this die cut embellishment as it really does sum up my feelings for these little dudes and it also has a dreamy, wispy feel.

I can guarantee you that this is one of those collections that I will be using up every last scrap! I love it. Well done We R Memory Keepers and well done to all of you on the first week of the Coral series as well. I think we are in for some great fun this round. As always, we are happy to congratulate one lucky winner and this week that person is Melanie Carey.

We R Memory Keepers Cinch

So, you’ve really been regretting not snatching up the We R Memory Keepers Cinch last time we featured it? I’m not surprised! This book binding tool is pretty darn spectacular. If you find yourself lumped into the category of “ohhhhh, I wouldn’t really use that,” I think you might need to explore this machine just a little bit more before you make your decision.

The Cinch is perfect for:

  • mini albums
  • recipe books
  • kids art books
  • homework
  • office presentations
  • flip charts
  • and pretty much anything you want to bind together!

Still not so sure? Check out these fun mini albums that I designed while teaching classes for We R Memory Keepers using the Cinch binding tool.

After teaching hundreds of women how to make these albums, each and every one of them that thought they were okay with other binding machines were converted after using the Cinch once. It’s that good.

If you missed the blog post last time, be sure to check this link out! Amber Sheaves and Kyla Norris have some great project ideas that you don’t want to miss.

Now I have one more itty-bitty matter of business to take care of, and that is announcing the winner of the September ScrapbookSteals.com Blog Hop! We R Memory Keepers Down The Boardwalk | Mid Week Mojo

Pearl – Layout 10

The first time I saw today’s steal, the We R Memory Keepers, Down the Boardwalk collection, I was in the WRMK offices picking up a prize package for our last Mid Week Mojo Series. I turned green with envy at the lucky recipient of the entire boardwalk collection with its fresh, fun, sun bleached palate. As much as I wanted to keep it for myself, I had great faith that our wonderful Brittany would bring this amazing collection to us at ScrapbookSteals! Today, I get to use this gorgeous collection to create this week’s mojo, using the sketch provided by design team member, Kerys Sharrock.

Even though this paper collection is mainly beach themed, I couldn’t wait to get working with it. I wish I had some beautiful beach photos to work with, but being in Utah our beaches are pretty much nil. Kerys’ sketch with the sun and clouds made me think of some photos that I had snapped of my boys on a recent camping adventure. I was thrilled at how perfectly the paper collection actually worked with the photos and of course, Kerys’ sketch was a true delight to work with! (I now see why you all like Mid Week Mojo so much! It’s kind of fun to create based off of a sketch!)

I love how many different prints are in this paper collection, and the weathered look is perfect for so many uses.

There were even a few embellishment pieces that weren’t beach themed, that worked with my layout.

Be sure to check back a little later this week for Kerys’ version of this weeks Mid Week Mojo.  It’s DARLING!

Kerys, I have to admit I think this is one of my very favorite layouts ever! Thank you so much for the inspiration!

We R Memory Keeper’s Twine Spools | How To’sday

Who doesn’t love one of the hottest embellishments in the industry right now—twine?! I adore my twine collection. My kids do too! That part I don’t adore so much, but I guess I can be nice and share. Especially when I’m able to snag up such great deals on amazing colors and the perfect amounts with today’s steal, the We R Memory Keepers Twine Spools.

Now if you want to do a little more with your twine collection than simply admire how pretty it looks on the spools then today’s guest blogger Ilene Tell shows us some pretty spectacular uses for twine that will definitely get the ideas flowing.

Hi everyone, Ilene here, and I’m so excited to share my project with you guys today! I got to work with two really gorgeous colors of twine from We R Memory Keepers — Aqua and Orange. The spools are enormous and they will last me a really long time. I used a lot, but I barely made a dent. I decided that it would be fun to make a card. On such a small canvas, the impact of the twine is very evident. Here is my card, using the new My Mind’s Eye paper.

In order to make the border, I added a thin line of glue. I used Beacon Adhesives “Fabri-Tac” glue, since it works so well, especially on cloth (and in this case, on twine). Then I added a twisted, haphazard border all around using the Orange twine. You could stop there, and have the one layer, but I decided to do a double border. I used a paper piercer and my Tim Holtz ruler to poke holes all around the edge, and then hand-stitched a border with the Aqua twine. On its own, this would have allow made an attractive border, but I really like the effect of the double border, since you have the more haphazard layer that looks like it has been stitched down by the more orderly layer. This is a great example of a couple different ways of attaching twine to your layouts.

For the dress forms, I used my Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Sizzix “Mini Sewing Room” die. I cut 3 dress form out of chipboard. I then cut two pieces of cardstock about the size of the body of the dressform and covered them with Fabri-Tac glue. I added a layer of twine by gluing it to the cardstock in layers going back and forth. Then I simply die cut the covered cardstock with my die again, and glued to the chipboard dress forms. This is an easy way to create handmade twine embellishments that gives your project a lot of texture. For the third dress form, I covered the body with some matching paper, and then finished it off with Glossy Accents for more dimension. As a last step, I finished off the inside of the card with more paper from the collection, and a Tim Holtz stamp.

I hope you guys liked my card and got an idea or two on how to make the most of your twine!

Ilene, your card is darling! I can’t wait to put my twine to use in a way other than my girls making friendship bracelets with it! Love it!

We R Memory Keepers Sew Stamper | Monday Card Madness #79

So you think you can’t stamp huh? I admit it. I can’t. It always looks like something my 4 year old created (not that his creations are terrible). However, with today’s steal the We R Memory Keepers Sew Stamper, the mystery of stamping has all of the sudden become a whole lot less intimidating, and in fact, down right easy. A simple flick of the lid and an easy roll and your project is dressed up with just the perfect touch of stampy goodness.

Lucky for you today we get to elaborate on the Sew Stamper perfection. You’ll be thrilled that today we have some guest bloggers from the We R Memory Keepers Design team. (Did I mention perfection?)

Heidi Van Laar was so kind as to let us use one of her cards as the foundation for this week’s official Monday Card Madness sketch.

It was incredibly difficult to decide which of her awesome cards to use but I’m so in love with banners right now that my heart skipped a little beat over this card.

Here is your sketch for those of you printing them off for future inspiration.

I love the little touch of faux stitching that the Sew Stamper has added to Heidi’s other cards.

The border rows of stamping on this layout finish things off beautifully.

Ann Corbiere-Scott also shows how the Sew Stamper can be incorporated into a great finishing touch for a layout.

I especially love on this layout how she achieves the look of stitching across her center circles with no fuss of hauling out the sewing machine. 2.3 seconds flat! Now that’s my kind of embellishing. Quick enough that I can still pull off a gorgeous project and dinner by 5:30. Maybe.

I’d like to thank these talented girls for sharing their projects with us today. Please be sure to click on their names and stop by their blogs to find oodles of additional inspiration.

For those of you participating in our Monday Card Madness random drawing giveaway, be sure to have any of this month’s Monday Card Madness creations posted somewhere online and linked to one of the Monday Card Madness postings by May 4th at 11:59 PM in order to be eligible for your chance to win. Also feel free to stop by our Facebook Fan Page for lots of fun and tons of ideas.

Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow for a little How To’sday.
