Teresa Collins Christmas Home | Monday Card Madness #61

In twenty days it will be Christmas. Eek! If you’re still hoping to get holiday cards made and mailed, especially if you are one that sends out an annual letter, then today’s sketch is a perfect answer for a simple design which is easy to whip together. The longer format makes it perfect for being able to include a folded letter without being folded so many times it looks like it was done by a Kindergartener. :)

Today’s steal, Christmas Home by Teresa Collins made a fun change for creating holiday cards. I love the tone of red and green mixed with the black. Teresa’s patterns and embellishments are always rich and definitely satisfy any urge for creating with vintage chic designs.

I was so in love with the black and white snowflake paper that I chose to use that as the base for my first card.

Teresa’s patterns can sometimes be a little intimidating to mix (at least for patterned paper mixing phobes like me!), so on the last two cards I made, I used solid cardstock as the base and papers from the 6×6 pad with smaller designs. It all mixed perfectly!

Amazingly another month has passed us by so it is time to announce the random winner of our November Monday Card Madness participants.

Scrapping Cottage

Who doesn’t love little things? I know I do. If you are a fan of “little” then today’s steal, the Mini Die Collections from Scrapping Cottage, are sure to be right up your alley. I have to admit, that my only problem with the dies offered today were, #1 – deciding which ones to use, and #2 – forcing myself to quit creating so that I could get the blog post ready for today! :)

I’m kind of a sucker for Halloween. In fact it will be 22 years ago this upcoming Halloween night that my dear husband and I met! As much fun as I have dressing up my little goblins, I think I love even more that it’s my anniversary of sorts, so I went for creating with the Halloween collection first and made a card (or two) using the spider and bat dies that I could give to my hunny on our special day. Now to decide which one to give to him!

I also thought it could be very fun to make a bag topper for class parties or for an extra special treat bag for extra special trick-or-treaters, so I put the ridiculously cute cat die to use!

Next I moved on to some Holiday themed cards being as I really need to finish up my Holiday cards for the card swap! These are the three cards that I created using the gingerbread man, reindeer and Ho, Ho, Ho dies.

Well. There you have it. A little piece of mini-die heaven!

I hope you have a great weekend. Be safe and scrap happy!

Teresa Collins Posh | Monday Card Madness #47

If you are a lover of vintage meets sassy, pink  mixing with black and white, then today’s steal, the Teresa Collins Posh collection is just for you.

When I first saw this collection I was instantly drawn to the pink glitter paper. I knew that I wanted to use some of the glitter paper on each of the cards that I created. After all, life just can’t have enough bling!

This collection has such a wide variety of patterns between the pink, black and white colors that it was fun to see how different I could make the cards while keeping them similar.

The first card I made by adding some 3D butterflies which I cut on on my Silhouette.

Next I created a card using the butterfly chipboard from the Posh collection.

Lastly, I used a sentiment from the chipboard pieces and finished it off with a black flower embellishment which I’ve had for quite some time.

I always love a collection which is versatile enough to use up items from my stash! :)

Don’t forget to keep posting your Monday Card Madness creations to our Facebook fan page or your own personal blog.  Leave a link here on our blog for the August cards by this Friday, September 2nd at 11:59pm MST in order to be eligible for our monthly drawing.

We are almost ready to wrap up our 3rd ScrapbookSteals card swap. If you are participating and haven’t had a chance to send out your cards yet, make sure they get sent soon! Also don’t forget to send me an email letting me know to be on the lookout for them.

I hope you all have a fantastic day! Be sure to check in tomorrow for another fun How To’sday tutorial.

Teresa Collins Sports Edition | Mid Week Mojo

Topaz Club — Layout 4

Wednesday! I love Wednesdays, and I love the timing of today’s steal the Teresa Collins Sports Edition collection. It just so happens that this week my girls are participating in their 12 hour a day band camp followed by a football game on Friday night where they are performing. I think that the sports collection coming to ScrapbookSteals right now was meant to be for all of the sports enthusiasts out there.

Now most people don’t think that Marching Band is a sport, but yes indeed it is! The kids follow all of the athletic requirements for the school and also compete against other schools. I thought it would be fun to use the collection for a somewhat non-traditional sporty layout and thus the sketch was born!

I popped over to the band camp at the end of their first 12 hour day and snapped off a bunch of shots of the tired bandlings.

The Teresa Collins collection offered a great variety of prints and designs so that I could complete my layout.

Props to Teresa Collins for designing a sports themed collection which worked to perfection with band photos.

Now it’s that time we all look forward to each week—our random drawing for a little scrappy goodness. Congrats goes out to Heather Young and her amazing interpretation of Kristy Mackeen’s Topaz #3 sketch.

Heather, if you’ll send your address in an email to service@scrapbooksteals.com, we will be happy to send a prize out to you.

Be sure to have this weeks layouts created, posted and linked to this blog no later than Monday, August 22nd at 11:59 PM MST.

For any of you that have questions regarding Mid Week Mojo you can check out all of the rules and details here. Also, as we continue week to week, bookmark this page for your quick reference to Mid Week Mojo links.

Have a very happy Wednesday!

Blingage! | Mid Week Mojo #43

Blingage! | Mid Week Mojo #43

Bling. It’s something that most of us girls just can’t live without, and today’s steal, the Teresa Collins Blingage collection is one that you definitely do not want to pass up. Not only are the elements of today’s steal perfect for adding a special touch to your crafting projects, but so many of them are perfect to bling up yourself! The big flowers and two of the big gem bobbie pins in today’s steal have already found their way into my girls’ hair stash. Oh, and in case you didn’t realize it, you also had a sneak peek to today’s steal with the cards that I created on Monday.

I had such a great time with last week’s single page sketch that I decided to take another stab at a one pager.

I knew I wanted to create a layout about my sweet and thoughtful husband and figured while typical bling wasn’t the feel I wanted for this layout, the bling gems would make a perfect accent to tie together the entire purpose of my page.

I love the little splash of pizazz that the gems give to an otherwise relatively non-girly layout. I adore my new shoes, but they are on the opposite spectrum of girly girl. By adding the blingage to create my arrow, I tied together two things that I absolute love — my new running shoes and my love of bling. Who knows, maybe I’ll even add a little bling to my new shoes to really put my soul at peace. 😉

We loved all of last week’s creations that were posted on our Facebook fan page. Our lucky random winner for sketch #42 is Carrie Labani.

Congrats Carrie! If you could please send us your address to service@scrapbooksteals.com, we’d be happy to send out a prize to you.

Remember to have this week’s mojo completed and uploaded to either or Facebook fan page or your own personal blog, by Monday, May 23 at 11:59pm in order to be eligible for next weeks drawing.

Have a great day! I know I will. I think I’ll go for a run! ?
