Authentique Enchanted and Glowing Mega Kit | Mid Week Mojo

Coral – Layout 7

Happy Halloween! Steal Boutique’s Karina Wetzel created some delightfully spooky crafts with today’s steal, the Authentique Enchanted and Glowing Mega Kit. Karina already wowed us with her great MCM creation this week, and today is no different! This collection is the perfect kit to scrap Halloween memories, create creepy crafts and decor for next year, or to whip up invites for future Halloween bonanzas.

When asked to play with the Authentique Enchanted and Glowing Mega Kit, I may or may not have squealed a little! There are so many things about this collection that I love.

Authentique has to be one of my favorite brands to work with! I love the bold and funky designs and wow, the papers are to die for! As I looked at this collection I couldn’t believe how many things there were. Once again, I was very impressed! Then my mind was going 100 mph with all the possibilities, so why stop at just a layout? So, my friends, that is when I decided to make a bunch of Halloween projects!

Here is the Layout that I came up with for MWM:

I made the 3D flowers by cutting circles and then crimping the paper a bit for more of a distressed look. Then I just layered and added a cute brad on top.

And of course I had to make a card:

Then, how fun is this simple treat bag:

And finally this last project came to me in a dream {please tell me that I’m not the only one} and I just had to make it:

Oh my! I could have made many more things. I cant wait to scrapbook my Halloween pictures from this year with this collection!

Fancy Pants Designs WaveSearcher and Summer Soul | Mid Week Mojo

Coral – Layout 6

Fall is full swing: school schedules are set, leaves are changing, and the weather is cool. That means it’s the perfect time to settle in with a cup of cider and scrap those warm summer memories that are still waiting on our desks. ;) STEALS.com’s very own Brittany Allred is our guest sketcher and will show us how today’s steal, Fancy Pants Designs WaveSearcher and Summer Soul, is perfect for bringing some sun back into your scrapping.

Summer might be over, but while working with Summer Soul, I could almost hear the waves and feel the warm breeze on my face.  As soon as I saw this collection, I knew right away I wanted to relive my daughter’s first trip to the California coast. I got so excited I may or may not have accidentally broken my favorite scissors…small price to pay for the Mid Week Mojo.

Summer Soul is full of so many of my favorite things, from rub-ons to chipboard pennants. I am also a huge fan of the warm, subtle colors in this collection, especially the pink and turquoise. Somehow they just seem to go with everything, like my extensive collection of baker’s twine and washi tape that I used as borders and accents for my photos. I really liked the flocked, lined transparency and actually used it as a template for my journaling, then placed it over top.

I’m excited to share a little of my creative side today (as an accountant, I don’t get to do that often). I hope you enjoy it and that it inspires you to hang onto summer just a little bit longer.

Echo Park Everyday Eclectic | Mid Week Mojo

Mid Week Mojo Layout-Coral 5

Today’s steal, the Echo Park Everyday Eclectic collection, will forever be a very special steal for me as this will be my last official Mid Week Mojo as an employee of STEALS.com. Most definitely an eclectic array of emotions have gone into creating this layout for you today. And I won’t lie—a whole lotta tears too! You know, those pesky happy/sad tears. Happy to relive the memories, but sad to hang up the hat.

I thought it so fitting to scrapbook a photo of all of the retreat attendees outside of the ScrapbookSteals.com warehouse. The title of “Thank You” is more than fitting as I have to honestly thank EACH and EVERY one of you for touching my life, lifting me up, sharing your families, putting up with my quirks, letting me share my life, allowing me to inspire you, but most of all for being genuine friends I would do anything for. I love you all.

This collection that is so happy and colorful, fun and filled with that favorite print of mine—chevrons— and was perfect to create a layout that is filled with so. many. memories. The mix of neutrals and brights really work beautifully together and the entire collection is bursting with gorgeous patterns. I love the fab-ness of this collection, so here are some close up shots to show how wonderful it really is.

Thank you my sweet scrappy friends. I’ll be hanging out still on ScrapbookSteals Facebook page. :) I won’t be far!

Lily Bee Design Hand Made | Mid Week Mojo

Today’s steal, the Lily Bee Design Hand Made collection, came at the perfect time! Last week I coerced my two oldest daughters and their BFFs to go to the lake for a photo shoot. Without any coordinating on their part, they all managed to wear clothing that works perfectly with Hand Made! Gotta love when that happens! It was such a fun evening and these papers are so perfect to preserve this amazingly fun, complicated, carefree, and silly time in their lives.

The Hand Made collection was such a pleasure to work with. I have always loved the Lily Bee collections for their bright, happy and clean designs, and I really love how this week’s Mid Week Mojo layout turned out!

I wanted to make this layout super girly, without overbearing the fun photo of these sweet girls. To achieve that effect, I used my Cameo to cut out a flower lace background. I didn’t want it to overwhelm, so I used the same paper as the background and layered it on top to create a subtle floral design. This same idea could easily be achieved by using a die cut as a mask and misting the background paper. I then used some strips of the fun papers and added some of the die cut embellishments to all a little color and design.

I absolutely adore the note card embellishments that come with today’s steal. They worked out perfectly to create my title block.

One of the note cards also worked out perfectly for my journaling block.

Well done Lily Bee! I have already used up scraps of this collection to create another layout from this fun night. Such a fantastic collection!

Graphic 45 The Magic of Oz Collection

For all of you Graphic 45 lovers, you are in for an absolute treat today. Fall Design Team member Liz Qualman totally rocks her first project for ScrapbookSteals.com using today’s steal, the Graphic 45—The Magic of Oz collection. The eclectic mix of Wizard of Oz inspired papers are the perfect crossover for fans of Wicked and Halloween alike!

 • • • • •

It’s almost time for witches, ghouls and goblins to take to the street and harass your neighbors for candy, which means it is time for you to get ready to document those precious Halloween moments.   The Magic of Oz collection from Graphic 45 was really fun to work with because of its unique Wizard of Oz graphics – not exactly your typical Halloween collection.   However, I really love how my Wicked Witch of the West layout turned out because so many of the elements in the collection are perfect for Halloween pages.  The bold titles around the border of the purple Wicked! patterned paper made a great background for my page and I chose to cut a piece of the green Parcel Post patterned paper to add to the middle for contrast to both the photo and the border.

The chipboard pieces in this collection are a fantastic quality with vibrant colors and really make excellent embellishments for a project.  These wicked chipboard buttons were a fun accent and only needed a bit of foam tape and some baker’s twine to finish them off and make them pop.  I used my circle cutter to add a little orange border from the Munchkins patterned paper.

I also love the sentiments on these chipboard tickets because even though there are no scarecrows, lions or tin men in the photo, these little trick or treaters have plenty of brains, heart and courage and will use them to make it through this night of mischief.

It’s fun to use Halloween collections for more everyday photos and pages.  I used some of the less graphic backsides of the patterned papers to make an Autumn page about love.  Layering many of the colors together adds a nice variety and makes the papers seem less like Halloween and more like a fall palette.

It’s kind of funny that these beautiful flowers were included in what seems more like a Halloween collection, but they got me thinking about using the papers and palettes to make a Fall layout, so of course I was glad to have them.  I used a leaf punch to cut the green leaves from the Emerald City paper that I also used to create the green sentiment strip that runs across the photo.

The chipboard tags are beautiful and easy to write on with a gel pen.  I merely added some twine for texture and used a bit of foam tape to make the tag stand out a bit more from the paper.  I also used my Martha Stewart Cherish Punch to make the border on the Scatterbrained Scarecrow patterned paper and then added a bit of black velvet floss to stitch through the holes created by the punch.

I think the unique graphics in The Magic of Oz collection are a fun challenge to create projects for Halloween or for Autumn.  I really enjoyed the push to think outside the box and make some novel pages about my family.
