Cards in a Snap! | Monday Card Madness #25

Cards in a Snap! | Monday Card Madness #25

I can’t think of any product that is more fitting to help us celebrate twenty five weeks of Monday Card Madness, than today’s steal, the Pebbles card making stickers and chips.  These two products truly make card making come together in a snap!

For this week’s sketch, I made the design to highlight the circle stickers.

With the triple sticker sets it’s really easy to duplicate the design of a card and make three of them in the same sitting. For me it’s the initial creation of a card that is the challenge and duplicating them is a breeze. Another great thing about the sticker sets is the huge variety of sentiments and designs to choose from. The circle stickers really add the perfect touch with so little effort.

The cute mini chips are also perfect embellishments (but doesn’t mini anything at all = cuteness?)

I had a great time making all of these cards and the Pebbles product made them come together so easily. Don’t forget our challenge to send out joy! I know any one of your cards sent to another would truly bring a smile to someone’s face.

Also remember after creating your cards, post them to our Facebook fan page or personal blog, then leave a link with your creation as a comment on our blog to be entered into our monthly drawing for a little scrappy goodness.

Hope you have an incredibly crafty week! Be sure to check in tomorrow for part II of Heather’s How To’sday tutorial showing how to make ribbon flowers with the huge glue spots that she showed us how to make last week.

Fantastic Friday | So Sophie

I have a little confession to make. I’m a little embarrassed to admit this, but when I was taking photos of today’s steal, the My Minds Eye, So Sophie, Graceful and Savvy collections, my eyes got a little misty. Okay, a tear dropped…it was just one of those days. Yeah, that’s my excuse.

Why would I get so emotional about a scrapbook product? Simply put, it’s gorgeous. It has been a long time since a product has moved me so profoundly before even creating with it.

I went to the store looking for something fun to play with and $3.00 later I settled upon these wooden plaques to alter.

I picked out a few of my favorite sheets of papers and turned to my Silhouette for some fun shapes to cut out. I also had to use some of the amazing stickers and die cuts that come with the So Sophie collections and satisfied my Glimmer Mist addiction and with a little Old Lace to everything.

I love how these turned out. Who knows, maybe I even shed a little tear of happiness because they were so fun to make—but that will forever be my secret.  ;)

Let’s Celebrate a Little Freestyle | Mid Week Mojo #34

I was excited when I knew I’d be working with one of Teresa’s collections to create this weeks Mid Week Mojo. I love her style where shabby meets eclectic, and chic meets timeless style.  Today’s choice of steals, the Freestyle Album Kit or the Celebrate Album Kit both allow Teresa’s true style to shine.

I used the Freestyle collection as it’s been a long time since I’ve created a deliciously girly girl layout. I figured these papers would be perfect to create a layout about my recently painted pink piggies!

Now some of you are probably wondering why I used a mini album kit to create a layout, but I wanted to show how even a pre-designed kit can be filled with inspiration for creating other projects.

I turned to Teresa’s amazing full-color instruction manual and used it as my inspiration for creating today’s sketch.

I used my Silhouette to cut out some butterflies to replicate the butterflies in the Freestyle kit.

I also added one of the punch out die cuts since there are a ton to choose from.

Teresa’s kits come with so much product that I will have absolutely no problem creating my Mojo layout and the mini album.

Also, I’m kind of a sucker for birthday-themed product, not so much for making birthday layouts, but I truly cannot wait to use Teresa’s Celebrate album kit to actually preserve a birthday memory without having to stress about the design.

How About a Sneak Peek? Ready, Set…Chipboard!

How About a Sneak Peek? Ready, Set…Chipboard!

Every once in awhile there’s a weekend steal that is just begging to be shown on the blog (I have way too many ideas for weekdays only).  Since we don’t have weekend blog features, I asked Melodee if we could have a sneak peek afternoon posting of the goodness that will be coming your way tomorrow, the Cosmo Cricket Ready Set Chipboard Kit.

One of the things that I love about tomorrow’s steal is the wide variety of projects that can be created with one kit.

I figured I would do my best to entice Mother Nature to deliver warmer weather by creating a cute shadow box decoration and a card using the “Togetherness” chipboard collection.  Nothing says spring like bunnies, pinwheels and birds.

I am always looking for inexpensive items to alter and make cute.  A trip to the dollar store for a photo frame, some patterned paper and a little paint yielded this cute decoration for my girls’ room using the “Pixielicious” chipboard set.

Look at how perfectly the butterfly flourish worked to complete this card.

Now I’ll be the first to admit that I’m pretty tired of winter, but look how darling these wintery projects turned out with pieces from the “Mitten Weather” collection.

You’ll also get a set of “Lavender Bling” letters as part of tomorrow’s steal. Can’t beat that and can’t beat the price either! You will just have to check in tomorrow at 9AM to see about that. ;)

Have a great weekend!

Welcome Guest Sketcher Brittany Perry! (Mid Week Mojo #32)

Welcome Guest Sketcher Brittany Perry! (Mid Week Mojo #32)

It’s already the first Wednesday in March, which means it’s guest sketcher time again!  I positively love guest sketch weeks as it’s so much fun to see different amazing scrap talents enrich our blog.  I’m so excited to be able to present to you one of our local friends, Brittany Perry.

—————————————

I was so, so, so excited when I got Kristy’s e-mail asking if I would like to be a guest sketcher! Me? Really? At the same time, I felt a little nervous, considering all of the awesome guest sketchers who preceded me, not to mention Kristy’s amazing sketches. Of course I wanted to do it, I just hoped I could come up with something that people would enjoy recreating!

Initially, I was going to work with Piggy Tales’ Twinkle Twinkle collection, but then Kristy suggested that I might like to work with the Imaginisce Enchanted collection.  Apparently, she knows my scraping preferences well since it is right up my alley!  I love to scrap pictures of my kids and it seems like most often it ends up being my two-year-old daughter!  And with a little girl who loves to dress up like a princess (and I mean daily), these papers were absolutely perfect for so many of my pictures.

After finishing my sketch and initial layout, I wondered if I could use this kit for boys as well.  As I thumbed through my pictures, I came upon some Easter pictures and thought they’d go great with some of the more neutral papers.  They have great springy, pastel colors!  I used the same layout, but made it a one-pager, and I think it worked great with my boys’ pictures as well!

I did a third layout, somewhat related to my sketch, because again, they were perfect for my pictures!

I also love that this kit comes with a matching 6×6 pad!  Those are my favorite for creating cards!  My niece just had a birthday, and I couldn’t resist making her a card with some of the 6×6 papers and the cute stamps that are included (I also got to use my American Crafts stamp markers for the first time on this card).

I hope everyone likes the sketch, and I can’t wait to see all of the layouts!
Thank you, Melodee & Kristy, for inviting me to guest sketch, and for such a fun kit to work with!  The whole experience really was Enchanting!

Thank you, Brittany!  Your talents are truly inspiring and I think we are in for a fun week of creations from your sketch.
