Martha Stewart Edge Punches | Monday Card Madness #97

So you think there are enough punches in your stash to last a lifetime? Well, I’m pretty sure if you took 2.3 seconds to play with today’s steal, Martha Stewart Edge Punches, you’d be seriously reconsidering your thoughts about just how long a lifetime is. They come in timeless designs and fold up perfectly for storage. Yeah, I’m in love!

That Martha. She’s pretty much the bomb salad of punch making. (That’s a good thing!)

Given the fact that I was working with punches for cards this week I had a hard time going with a particular sketch. Punches are just perfect to modify ideas on a whim!

I used the Blossom Eyelet punch to create a trim to go down the length of my first card.  I then added a little washi and some embellies.

Next, I wanted to create a double border of eyelet blossoms so I punched down both sides of a strip of paper. I then got a little crazy with my washi collection and taped random colors beneath the flowers punch outs to create a subtle splash of color. I think this is one of my favorite washi uses yet!

I then used the same punch to create the edge of this card so that the inside pattern of the paper can peek through to match the strip on the left hand side. (I kinda really like this one!)

Then I switched gears to the Laurel Leaf edge punch. I’m gonna be honest — I think this is one of my very favorite punches to date! Such a great addition to so many projects!

I went simple and used this punch to make a basic border running the length of the card.

Then the crafty gears got spinning and I thought it would be fun to punch so that the leaf trim didn’t come completely unattached, but rather keep it attached to the paper I was punching from.

I then applied the same method to the base of this card and loved it so much that this is the official card for this week’s sketch!

Yup. I’m pretty pleased that these punches are now taking up minimal space in my crafty room. A great purchase indeed!

Fiskars Everywhere Punch Window System | Monday Card Madness #95

I’m sure hope I’m not the only one that sometimes gets crafty-lazy. The thought of making windows by carefully making cuts with my paper trimmer or plotting exact measurements on my Silhouette kind of makes my brain wiggle.  With today’s steal, the brilliant Fiskars Everywhere Punch Window System, that’s no problem. With a simple 1-2-3 you can punch that window wherever you want! Better yet, it takes up hardly any space and is perfect for projects on the go.

I decided that I wanted to show how the punch system could work for a series of windows, so I used the fun flower punch to create this tri-flower window card.

I then used the square punch and created a similar card. You might notice how adding a few pop dots behind the window panel makes the card rich with dimension.

I then thought how cute it would be to use the flower punch around the edge of a piece of paper as sort of a “chomp”. Because I couldn’t come up with a cute “chomp” type sentiment it sort of morphed into this unique congrats card. I kind of like how it turned out!

American Crafts Knock Outs Border Punch Kit | How To’sday

The fabulous Staci Jones is back again showing us what a knock out the American Crafts Knock Outs Border Punch kit is. I love that it comes with six different border options and a handy-dandy carrying case, and I really love what Staci has done with the punches! So don’t mind me while I step aside for a moment to hurry and hit the steal button on today’s awesome steal. :)

I was ecstatic when Kristy asked me to show all you fabulous people one of my favorite scrapbooking tools—the American Crafts Knock Outs punch.  I am totally in love with this wonderful tool and use it often.  I put off buying punches for a long time because I dreaded the amount of room they take up. My husband surprised me with the American Crafts Knock Outs punch for Christmas last year and it was such a great surprise.

My favorite things about these punches are:
1) Storage is slim and the case can be easily be stacked, especially if space is tight.
2) Super easy to assemble and use and don’t take a lot of time. Easy to put back in its case.

3) Six different punches in one sweet case! And they are borders I would actually use.
4) Great Price. For six different punches it is definitely nice on the pocketbook.

Have I convinced you to steal yet? Check out these fun projects and head on over and hit “Steal Me!”  You won’t regret it!

Fiskars 3 in 1 Corner Squeeze Punch | Monday Card Madness #92

Today’s steal, the Fiskars 3 in 1 Corner Squeeze Punch, is one amazing tool. After all, what’s not to love about a triple-header option in one convenient handheld tool? It’s right up my alley since there aren’t easy to throw a handy-dandy tool with three different options in my crop bag.

I have to admit I may have had a little too much fun making cards this week. I started out with one idea, and then tried a little something else, and then it sort of morphed into another idea—ending up with five completely different cards. However, the one constant is just how well the Fiskars 3 in 1 Corner Squeeze Punch dressed up the corners of each of my cards.

First, I ended up using some of the scraps from last weeks Mid Week Mojo. I adore the little seashell type scallop and think it makes such a great addition!

Next, I used up a few more scraps from Studio Calico and mixed it up with some Basic Grey and My Mind’s Eye 6×6 pads. I tried out the fun dotted corner punch and I like that it’s a somewhat more masculine addition.

Then, of course I had to try out the tri-circle corner punch. I love how simple and delicate it is!

I guess the seashell design was really calling my name again, because I went back to that one and think it really compliments the feel of my card with the Lucky 8 punch rounded portion.

I finished things up with my favorite card of the bunch, and went back to the triple dot. Honestly can’t say enough good about this punch and the fact that it’s THREE IN ONE! Wow. Gotta love it!

So now you’re probably asking what the sketch is for this week. Ummmm. Let’s just say you get to choose! I’ll draw up one however for anyone printing them out for future reference. And who knows, maybe you’ll see one of the others as an official sketch next week.

Don’t forget that we are currently teamed up with We R Memory Keepers Operation Write Home Card Drive for a fantastic giveaway. We have a lovely Red White and Blue Stack Pack that will be given to one random winner who participates in the Operation Write Home Card Drive.
