Pink Paislee Prairie Hill Collection | Monday Card Madness #106

Okay ladies, not going to lie. When I first heard the name of today’s steal, the Prairie Hill Collection by Pink Paislee, I was immediately whisked back to the 70s when I would rush home from school to watch Little House on the Prairie. Luckily for us, Pink Paislee captures the color tones of the 70s in this collection with a beautiful modern twist. And since there are no bell bottoms or bangs feathered a mile wide, this collection is definitely a win!

I had such a blast working with the Prairie Hill collection that I found it a little hard to narrow down which direction I wanted to run with the card design. I wanted to incorporate the tags like I did last time we featured Pink Paislee, but I didn’t want to duplicate the look too closely so I got busy chopping up the gorgeous tags. Eeek!

On the first card I made I took the tag, chopped it and added matching corner edges to the bottom side of the tag and then finished things off with one of the cute 3D embellishments.

On the next card I took the same idea but placed the tags a little differently.

For the next two cards I flipped the sketch and tweaked it a little so that my chopped up tags would look the best!

On the final card I made I used the leftover scraps from two different tags that I cut up, added some buttons and washi and came up with a completely new design.

Creating with Prairie Hill? Way less painful than watching re-runs of Little House on the Prairie. In fact, not even painful at all!

I can’t believe the month is half over. If you love card-making and love free stuff then boy have we got a deal for you!

Pink Paislee Indigo Bleu | Monday Card Madness #102

Here’s a little secret for you: for 39 years of my life I thought bleu cheese had to be about the most vile thing on the planet. Over this past year my taste buds have finally awoken to the glorious taste! (Or perhaps I’m just a little more sophisticated in my older age.) 😉

Luckily it didn’t take 39 years to appreciate the beauties of today’s steal, the Pink Paislee Indigo Bleu collection. The relaxing blend of yellows and blues with the twist of a little French flair is perfect for paper crafting.

I let the design of my cards be inspired by the embellishments in today’s collection.

I really love the warm, vintagey feel of the tags in this collection so used a combination of papers, banner stickers, and a tag to design the card.

I repeated the same design for my second card and added a rubon “thank you” sentiment.

Some of the tags in this collection are horizontal in format, so I flipped the sketch and made this card.

Then I put a twist on the tag and used some of the conversation bubbles in the embellishments to replace the tag on the sketch.

I love how the design continues to morph as I create. This is what I came up with for my final card and I think it’s my favorite of the bunch!

The cards that I’ve seen popping up this week on Facebook are darling! I want to give a shout out to Kassandra Missen and the lovely card she created based off of last week’s sketch.

Well done Kassandra! Who knows, you may even find yourself being our lucky monthly winner for this darling creation.

Pink Paislee Nantucket | Monday Card Madness #70

Stamped Background

You’re trying to escape the winter blahs and have that stack of last year’s vacation photos sitting in front of you — but you’re not quite sure which beach scrapbook paper to use with them. If you missed out last time them, don’t delay on grabbing today’s steal, Nantucket by Pink Paislee. Not only is this collection filled with the perfect white-washed, weather-worn papers that are really full of versatility, but you’ll also be treated to honeycomb embellishments, stamps, gorgeous trims and more!

I was actually pretty thrilled when I found out that I would be able to make today’s cards using this collection. I had such a great time using them on the Mid Week Mojo Garnet 5 layout even though I’m pretty much short on beach photos! But isn’t that the sign of a wonderfully versatile collection? :)

The card maker in me was absolutely in love with the little honeycomb embellishments that are a part of the collection so I decided to use them as the emphasis of the design of this weeks card.

I even got a little crazy (for those of you that know my fear of stamping) and stamped backgrounds to a couple of the cards. I have to admit, I adore how it turned out.

I flipped the orientation of the sketch and even used a stamp for the sentiment on this card.

And on my final card I used one of the wooden embellishments and lightly inked it to give it a little dimension. A splash of yellow ribbon to the top and my card was complete!

I adore these papers, embellishments and trims and can’t wait for spring to finally arrive so that I can take some photos specifically to go with these papers.

Pink Paislee Mistables | Mid Week Mojo

Garnet – Layout 7

So you’re kind of in a funk, feeling like all of your scrappy products are the same and you’d really like to shake things up by trying something new — well then, don’t delay in today’s steal, the Mistables collection by Pink Paislee. Not only are these papers a super fun vintage and shabby, but you get to customize them to the color palate that you want! Add the mistable embellishments and you have the workings for a one of a kind artistic creation.

I had a lot of fun manipulating the papers and trims to create this layout for one of our fans, Melanie Henderson. Isn’t her family simply gorgeous?

It was pretty amazing to me that I could turn the base paper from a basic white script to a custom colored paper that worked to perfection with Melanie’s photo.

I also loved how well the muslin trims and flower received the mist colors as well as the flocked stickers and chipboard letters. The little bit of resist pattern adds the perfect touch! I also wanted to demonstrate how much fun the mask template that is included in today’s steal can be. If you look closely on the muslin trim on the layout you can see that I used it to mask the trim and make it multi-toned.

You can also use the mask on regular paper. I turned this sheet of plain white cardstock into a cute card in just a few steps!

Thank you so much Melanie for letting me scrap a photo for you. I hope you like it! I will get it sent on it’s way soon.

It’s always so exciting to figure out who the lucky weekly winner is for our random drawing. We had a ton of submissions this past week so it was even more exciting! This week our lucky winner is Melanie Carey.
