Pebbles, Inc. Country Picnic | Monday Card Madness #77

Gather round, gather round card makers! It’s not every day that we are treated to a guest blogger like the Paper Crafts Go-To Gal, Teri Anderson who totally rocked the house with today’s steal, Country Picnic by Pebbles, Inc.

If you don’t know Teri you are in for an absolute treat. Teri has got to be one of the kindest, funniest, and most definitely wittiest people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! She holds a special place in my heart as our professional crafty roots had our starts together back in 2003, and it is a delight to showcase her today at ScrapbookSteals!

Hi everyone — what fun is the Country Picnic collection!

I just love the happy feel of it. Throw in flowers, cute tags and a pretty color scheme, and it makes a great collection for making a whole lot of happy, cheery cards.

I literally laid this steal in its full glory out on my desk and just spent a morning making card after card with it. I couldn’t stop. It’s so easy to mix the papers with the embellishments and the letter stickers.

I mean, check these out.

I also made a tiny set of monogram cards with it.

They are simple little notecards. Each a 3 ½” square with a strip of patterned paper, a couple circles cut from patterned paper and a letter sticker monogram on it.

And here’s the fun part! I used the packaging from the package of layered paper flower to put them in.

I stuffed the cards inside the package and then threw on a few panels of patterned paper on the outside. I finished things off by adding a tag, which I added one of those lovely flowers to.

Pebbles, Inc. Fresh Goods | Monday Card Madness #60

Are you having so much fun today? I know I am! I’m super excited to introduce our next guest card maker, Julie Cordero who couldn’t have done a better job showing us what can be done with the 5PM steal, Fresh Goods by Pebbles, Inc.

Julie Ann, take it away!

My favorite part of this collection is the butterflies. I love the dimension to them and I was sad when the package was all used up!  I also adored the texture of the paper. It’s probably hard to tell in the photos, but some of the papers have an awesome dimension to them that really spice up the cards.

The colors and designs on the papers and embellishments are so fun. I can definitely see using them on cards and layouts in the future.

Thanks so much Julie Ann for sharing your cards with us! They are fresh and they are good. :) Actually, they’re great!

Pebbles Mr. and Mrs. | Monday Card Madness #46

Happy Monday everyone! Today I have a very special treat for you. Today’s cards are being brought to us by the crafty co-worker of mine, Brittany Perry. When she asked what she would be working with and I told her about today’s steal the Pebbles Mr. and Mrs. Collection, she was pretty excited as she had making wedding cards on her list of to-dos anyway.

I think you’ll agree that Brittany’s card sketch is nothing short of amazing.

Brittany absolutely spoiled us by creating four different cards with her sketch using today’s steal. She did a great job showcasing all of the wonderful embellishments included in today’s kit.

Thank you Brittany for treating us to a unique and fun sketch and showcasing what you can create based off of it! I think we need to be seeing more of your card sketches in the future.

Don’t forget to keep posting your Monday Card Madness creations to our Facebook fan page or your own personal blog.  Leave a link here on our blog for the August cards by Friday September 2nd at 11:59pm MST in order to be eligible for our monthly drawing.

If you haven’t heard we are in the middle of our third ScrapbookSteals card swap.  It’s not too late to jump in and participate. If you’ve missed the details, here they are:

Pebbles Ever After | Mid Week Mojo

Topaz Club — Layout 3

Ahhh, I love Wednesdays. I love them even more when we have such a great product like today’s steal, the Pebbles Ever After collection. It just doesn’t get any better when you add the fact that we have a very talented guest sketcher today, Kristy MacKeen!

Kristy, the floor is all yours!

Wow, I can’t believe I am here, about to give you the Topaz 3 sketch!!!  Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojos have been a primary source of inspiration for my scrapbook pages. I hadn’t even scrapped a page until the MWMs started. When Kristy asked me if I would be a guest designer, I was sitting in my grandparents’ living room and I think they thought I had lost my mind because I was giggling so much. ::somebody pinch me:: It is a lot of pressure to live up to Kristy’s wonderful sketches and all the other great guest designers. I hope I was able to do that.

When she sent me a picture of what I would be working with and I was so excited. And then I got the Pebbles, Inc. Ever After in my hot little hands, I was even more excited. The colors are so pretty and I love the textures and glitter on the pages (yes, the glitter sticks). I started looking through the pictures and realized I didn’t have any “princess” or “prince” pictures, so I set out to shoot some. Of course, my favorite subjects wouldn’t cooperate with what I originally had in mind. Then I realized I had just purchased Hailey’s first magic wand, so I knew what I had to do…

When I see a magic wand, I immediately think of Cinderella and the saying Bippity, Boppity, Bo!

So, Bippity, Boppity, Bo!  Here is my layout.

When Kristy told me this was a fully packed kit, she was right!  The gems, enamel and layered stickers add a lot of fun to a layout.

The flower brads are so pretty and have a sparkle to them.  And they fit in a scrapbook without a problem.

I also thought of all those cute little boys we have in the ScrapbookSteals family, so I immediately wanted to show that this kit can be used for a boy layout as well.

I have always seen these cute little hat pins that come with kits.  I was so happy to get a chance to use some:

One great little bonus of the Pebbles paper is the little tears offs at the bottom of each page.  One side has the paper name, and the other side has a complete strip of patterned paper.  No waste!

I hope you like this kit as much as I did. I can’t wait to see what you create with this layout. Just be sure to have a lot of fun. That is what it is all about!

Kristy, all I can say is WOW. You rocked it girl! Thank you SO much for sharing your talents with us. It’s been such a delight to see you grow over the past year with your layouts. You’re one talented lady, that’s for sure!

Now it’s time for our weekly drawing. Charity Hotrum-Becker, you are our lucky random winner!

Charity, if you’ll send your address in an email to, we will be happy to get a prize sent out to you.

If you’re new to our family and have any questions on Mid Week Mojo you can check out all of the rules and details here. Also, as we continue week to week, bookmark this page for your quick reference to Mid Week Mojo links.

Have a very happy Wednesday!

Happy Go Lucky Flower Topiary

I wandered down the aisles of one of my favorite stores and there it was — a lovely flower topiary. At that exact moment the idea for a Fantastic Friday project was in the works. I snapped a quick photo with my phone and then hit the craft store for a foam base and ball to create on.

Today’s steal, the Pebbles — Happy Go Lucky collection was the perfect set of papers and embellishments for re-creating the flower topiary that I fell in love with at the store.

Here are the supplies that I used for my creation.

  • Pebbles Happy Go Lucky Collection
  • Styrofoam ball and cone from craft store
  • Hot glue gun and lots of glue sticks.
  • Ribbon
  • Random buttons and brads

Step 1:

I began by cutting out swirly circles on my Silhouette machine. If you don’t have a Silhouette, you can cut out 4″ diameter circles then cut in a spiral shape until you reach the center of the paper, leaving a circle in the middle of paper about 1″ across.

Step 2:

The paper flowers are created by twisting the paper loosely around a pencil from the outer coil to center of the circle. You can determine the tightness of the flower by how tightly you coil the paper around a pencil. Add a reasonable amount of glue to the core of the paper, press down and your flower is ready for embellishment.

Step 3:

Add buttons, brads or other miscellaneous embellishments to the center of each flower.

Step 4:

Paint the outside of foam ball in a color that coordinates with your papers.

Step 5:

When paint is dry begin gluing finished flowers and embellishments to the outside of the ball in random patterns. You can fill in any holes with brads or buttons.

Step 6:

Next begin covering the base of the cone with rows of ribbon.

Step 7:

Once the base and the ball are covered, insert a dowel into the base of the ball. Gently insert the other end of the dowel into the top of the cone.

Step 8:

Admire your gorgeous creation!

The only thing I have left to do is head back to the craft store to find the perfect purple ribbon to tie around the base of the ball.

I hope you all have a spectacular weekend! Check in on Monday for our next Monday Card Madness and the winner of our July card creations!
