Pink Paislee Nantucket | Monday Card Madness #70

Stamped Background

You’re trying to escape the winter blahs and have that stack of last year’s vacation photos sitting in front of you — but you’re not quite sure which beach scrapbook paper to use with them. If you missed out last time them, don’t delay on grabbing today’s steal, Nantucket by Pink Paislee. Not only is this collection filled with the perfect white-washed, weather-worn papers that are really full of versatility, but you’ll also be treated to honeycomb embellishments, stamps, gorgeous trims and more!

I was actually pretty thrilled when I found out that I would be able to make today’s cards using this collection. I had such a great time using them on the Mid Week Mojo Garnet 5 layout even though I’m pretty much short on beach photos! But isn’t that the sign of a wonderfully versatile collection? :)

The card maker in me was absolutely in love with the little honeycomb embellishments that are a part of the collection so I decided to use them as the emphasis of the design of this weeks card.

I even got a little crazy (for those of you that know my fear of stamping) and stamped backgrounds to a couple of the cards. I have to admit, I adore how it turned out.

I flipped the orientation of the sketch and even used a stamp for the sentiment on this card.

And on my final card I used one of the wooden embellishments and lightly inked it to give it a little dimension. A splash of yellow ribbon to the top and my card was complete!

I adore these papers, embellishments and trims and can’t wait for spring to finally arrive so that I can take some photos specifically to go with these papers.

Pink Paislee Nantucket | Mid Week Mojo

Garnet – Layout 5

I had an exceptional time working with today’s steal, Nantucket by Pink Paislee. I honestly couldn’t have handpicked a better collection to highlight this sweet photo that I took of my daughter, Sarah, and my part-time daughter Lizzie on New Years Day. I love how the subtle tones worked so perfectly with the photo taken of an otherwise drab winter day.

I was so inspired by last week’s guest sketcher that I got my “Charity Becker” on and did a little fussy cutting. I cut out a handful of flowers from two of the sheets of paper to use as an embellishment border along the side of my layout. I added a little Shimmeringz spray, some ink and finished off the centers with some glitter glue then adhered them to the layout using various levels of pop dots.

The trims that come in this collection are absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t decide which to use, the brown or the yellow, so I decided to use both and stitched them onto my layout.

Even though this collection is a more nautical themed one, it worked great for my purposes. Even though I live hundreds of miles from any ocean, I plan on using this collection for many other things in my future!

Charity did such a great job last week providing us with two sketches that I thought it would be fun to pick a random winner for each sketch.

Congrats go out to Kathy Thisted as the winner of the Opal 4a sketch

Congratulations go to Kassandra Missen as the winner of the Opal 4 sketch.
