My Minds Eye

My Mind’s Eye, 12 Days of Christmas | Monday Card Madness #60

Pretty much any of you that follow the blog know that My Mind’s Eye holds the key to my heart, and the final 9PM steal, The 12 Days of Christmas is of no exception. In fact, this may have to be one of my all time favorite Christmas paper collections, which makes me think that maybe…just maybe I will take photos on Christmas this year and actually scrap them!

Until the much anticipated day of December 25th arrives, I’m happy to settle with making these three holiday cards.

The 12 Days of Christmas collection makes me even that much more excited for the countdown to begin! However, I wont lie. I’m happy I still have time to do my shopping.

My Mind’s Eye | Dear Santa

I thought I’d have a little fun today and call upon a scrappy friend, from when I had my very first scrapbooking gig almost eight years ago. Sharyn Tormanen is one crazy-talented, super-crafty girl and does a stellar job at showcasing today’s steal, Dear Santa by My Mind’s Eye.

When I received Dear Santa in the mail, I had several thoughts.  1. I don’t think I can ever have too much Christmas paper and 2. I love Cardinals!

I’ve also been recently addicted to the smaller pads of paper, so I’m loving the 8×8 pad. While I scrapbook in 12×12, I love the challenge of using the smaller paper for my pages.

I also loved using it here to cover my 9×9 album.

Each year I create an album for our Christmas cards. Each year is a different size, and each year is unique. It’s also my goal to get last year’s cards “booked” before this year’s cards start arriving. An admirable goal, I think. *wink*

So for this album I started with some 9″ square chipboard and covered it with Mod Podge and paper from the Dear Santa set.

Since the paper is just 8″ and my book is 9″, I hid the seam along along the bottom edge with the circle embellishment.

And because the chipboard sticker didn’t come with numbers, I lucked out and used the l and the o to create the number ’10 to represent the year.

I used The Cinch to bind my book together.

Still hooked on the paper and the colors, I made a few quick and easy cards of my own.

Thank you Sharyn! It’s never occurred to me to create a mini album using the holiday photo cards that are sent each year. What a great idea and now the Cinch is definitely on my list of must-haves!

Be sure to check out Sharyn’s blog for further creative ideas, amazing photography and, well, some pretty great humor! Thanks Sharyn for being our guest at ScrapbookSteals today.

Have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday with some pretty cute cards that you will not want to miss!

Scrapping Cottage

Who doesn’t love little things? I know I do. If you are a fan of “little” then today’s steal, the Mini Die Collections from Scrapping Cottage, are sure to be right up your alley. I have to admit, that my only problem with the dies offered today were, #1 – deciding which ones to use, and #2 – forcing myself to quit creating so that I could get the blog post ready for today! :)

I’m kind of a sucker for Halloween. In fact it will be 22 years ago this upcoming Halloween night that my dear husband and I met! As much fun as I have dressing up my little goblins, I think I love even more that it’s my anniversary of sorts, so I went for creating with the Halloween collection first and made a card (or two) using the spider and bat dies that I could give to my hunny on our special day. Now to decide which one to give to him!

I also thought it could be very fun to make a bag topper for class parties or for an extra special treat bag for extra special trick-or-treaters, so I put the ridiculously cute cat die to use!

Next I moved on to some Holiday themed cards being as I really need to finish up my Holiday cards for the card swap! These are the three cards that I created using the gingerbread man, reindeer and Ho, Ho, Ho dies.

Well. There you have it. A little piece of mini-die heaven!

I hope you have a great weekend. Be safe and scrap happy!

My Mind’s Eye Lush | Mid Week Mojo

My Mind’s Eye Lush | Mid Week Mojo

Opal Club — Layout 2

If there is one word to describe today’s steal, the Lush collections by My Minds Eye, it would be lush! Not only are all of these collections filled with incredible trims, brads, buttons and tags, but some of the papers in each collection are as lush as a crushed velvet dress.

Several weeks ago one of our fans, April Fraley, ran her first 5K race. For any of you that know me, you know that running is a big part of my life, and I was so thrilled that April took on the challenge of her first race ever. I pretty much begged her to let me scrap the photos of her event, and have just been waiting for the right papers to come along. I love how today’s orange and navy collections worked so perfectly for the layout.

There were so many of April’s race photos that I wanted to include, but wanted to keep it to a single page layout so I had fun working with some smaller sized photos.

I also had a great time mixing the buttons, brads, gems and trim of the navy and orange collections.

April, thank you so much for allowing me to scrap this amazing event in your life.

Now it’s time to announce the winners of our Opal 1a and 1b sketches. That’s right! Van did such an amazing job as our guest, and you all did such an amazing job completing your layouts that I think it’s only appropriate that we celebrate with two winners.

Jillibean Soup, Cream of Mushroom | Mid Week Mojo

Topaz Club — Layout 10

Wow! Another ten weeks have whisked by and here we are at the final installment of our Topaz Club series. To celebrate we have a new manufacturer to the ScrapbookSteals family once again — welcome Jillibean Soup! I love today’s steal from the Jillibean Soup, Cream of Mushroom collection.

This collection is so rich and fun and perfect for fall. I was so excited when I realized how perfectly it would work with some very recent photos that I took of my son on one of our day dates.

I absolutely adore the trims that come with this collection. They make the perfect addition to the page along with the Journaling Sprouts.

I’m quite certain that this is one collection that I will be excited to pull out and use again.

Now before I get into the details of the exciting Topaz prize which has been brought to us by Kiwi Lane Designs, I will announce the winner of the Topaz #9 random drawing.

This week’s lucky winner is Kassandra Missen. Not only do I love this layout but I am incredibly touched that the sketch inspired her enough to create a page out of chronological order.

Kassandra, if you will send an email to, we will be happy to send a prize out to you!

Now for the scoop on the big Topaz prize.

Kiwi Lane Designs has graciously sponsored the Topaz prize by sending us these three templates to give to one of you!

  • Tiny Sweetheart
  • 12″ Abbie Road
  • Wildflower

To add a little fruity kicker to the combination we are throwing in a combination prize pack of Lime Twist by My Mind’s Eye for an approximate total prize value of $60.00! What better combination than to use a little Kiwi Lane Design love on some brand new My Mind’s Eye papers? Right. I didn’t think there was a better combo!

In order to win this amazing prize package here is what you need to do.
