My Mind’s Eye Mini Album Project Kits

If you’re a reader of the ScrapbookSteals blog then you know how much I love mini. Everything mini is just too cute! Today’s Mini Album Project Kits by My Mind’s Eye takes mini to a whole new level! Not only do you get a heavy duty, chipboard mini album, but pre-cut papers to fit the pages, and a whole array of coordinating embellishments to make your mini album come together in a snap!

The hardest part of creating this project for today was deciding on which album to make. Pink or blue, blue or pink. Decisions, decisions! I finally settled on the Enlightened project kit since I’m crazy in love with shades of blues, browns and greens right now.

The My Mind’s Eye peeps have definitely got it together. While I have always loved the cute chipboard shaped albums, I have not always loved having to trim papers accordingly. The smart creators behind this gorgeous album have taken that burden away.  They’ve made it a breeze to customize an album to your desire by providing enough pre-cut papers to cover the fronts and backs of each chipboard page as well as some extras to use for mixing and matching it up! Add a bounty of coordinating chipboard embellishments with stickers that are cut to size, and flowers and trims and in just a few hours you can have your very own cherished keepsake to display on a shelf or even give to a friend or relative.

Now if you haven’t heard about what’s going on tonight, be sure to join us for the first ScrapbookSteals online crop of 2012! We always have the best of times with challenges and games and of course, lots of giveaways!

If you want to get a head start on the challenges, you can check them out here!

We will be starting the fun at 6PM with a chat hosted via U-Stream. You can refer to our Facebook page just after 6PM for a link to the fun! Have a great day and we hope to see you tonight!

Xyron Mini X | Mid Week Mojo

Amethyst – Layout 1

Can you believe it?! We have finished up another 10 week series of amazing scrapbook layout sketches in our Mid Week Mojo Series! The layouts that each of you have created over the past two and a half months have been absolutely amazing and I’m so excited to be starting out fresh again with our Amethyst Mid Week Mojo Series.

For those of you that have ever thought about jumping in on the fun, now is the time to get started. With a simple sketch provided each week by myself or another guest sketcher, how much easier can it be to fill your family albums with precious memories?

Well  it can be made a wee bit easier with today’s steal, the Xyron Mini X and the Ultimate Adhesive Tool Kit. What paper crafter doesn’t love a great adhesive? I know I’ve been frustrated from time to time with adhesives that just don’t make the cut, or rather make the stick. Xyron adhesives are amazing. When you want the sticky stuck Xyron is a definite thumbs up!

I’ve been truly loving the mini photo layouts lately so I decided to challenge myself and see just what I could come up with for today’s sketch.

Mid Week Mojo

I recently joined an amusing little Facebook group and each day we post photos of our findings when we sweep our floors. Not only has this group made me feel “normal” about the mysterious amounts of rubbish that I am continually finding on my floor several times a day, but it’s been highly entertaining to see what everyone else comes up with! I thought it would be fun to create a layout featuring the floors of several of our group members.

Mid Week Mojo

For those of you that purchased the My Mind’s Eye, Miss Caroline Dilly Dally collection, today’s layout is an example of what you can create with that collection. I was pretty excited that I could hand choose the papers that I wanted to create this layout. The combination of woodgrains, and the red and white checkers along with the grey grid mimicked to me to perfection the feeling of kitchen floors.

Scrapbook Sketch Scrapbook Sketch Scrapbook Sketch

Even though it’s a bit of a crazy layout, having 14 photos on one page, I love how it turned out and I have to shout out an extra special thank you to all of the girls who let me air their dirty floors. Oh and if you’re wondering, my floor is the photo with the white heart, and cheerio, and who knows what else!

And now it’s time to shout out to our Garnet #1o winner and the lucky winner of the Garnet series.

Congrats are in order for Jessica Arrant, who is the lucky winner of our regular weekly series.

Jessica you page is absolutely lovely and I love how you added the extra photos to fill the white space. It turned out to perfection! If you will please send an email to customerservice@stealnetwork.com we will be happy to send a prize out to you to keep the Mid Week Mojos coming!

And now for the winner of the Garnet series Mid Week Mojos and the We R Memory Keepers Cinch. Cyndee Kawa, you are our lucky girl!

I have to take a super quick moment to thank Cyndee personally for the amazing contribution that she is to our happy ScrapbookSteals family. I had the pleasure of meeting her at our ScrpabookSteals crop last November and she is amazing. Not only do I admire her handwriting, and her darling creations, but I love that she has a true gift for capturing the real, every day memories of life. Congrats Cyndee! We have already taken care of arrangements on shipping your Cinch!

Good luck to everyone starting out fresh on our Amethyst series.

My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline | Mid Week Mojo

Garnet – Layout 10

Can you believe that we have reached the end of yet another gem series in our Mid Week Mojo layout sketch series? It’s always an exciting thing to come to the end of another ten weeks, and what makes it even more exciting is that this weeks sketch is completed with today’s steal, two of the brand new collections by My Mind’s Eye, Miss Caroline.

I knew that I wanted to keep this week fairly simple as I’m sure that once you see what prize we are giving away for the Garnet series, there will be a bunch of you on the quest to catch up, so I settled on a one page layout about my Sarah.

My daughter Sarah is such a talented and beautiful young lady (do I sound like a proud mom or what?) On Monday night we were privileged to hear her perform at her clarinet recital. As I was shooting photos during her performance I realized how perfectly the Fiddlesticks and Dolled Up collections would work with the yellows and turquoises in the photos, and thus my layout was born.

My Mind’s Eye always does an amazing job with their embellishments, which bring the perfect finishing touches to a project. I think the twine and the stick pins are definitely my favorite!

And now for our weekly random winner! I absolutely loved seeing the interpretations of the twelve photo sketch from last week, and Sheryl Kloke layout was of no exception!

Garnet 9 Winner

Congrats Sheryl on being this week’s lucky random winner. If you will please send an email with your address to customerservice@stealnetwork.com we will get your Garnet #9 prize sent out to you.

Now for the big news on the Garnet series prize, which you have all been waiting for! One lucky random winner, having completed all ten of the Garnet series Mid Week Mojos by next Monday night, February 20th at 11:59 PM MST will become the proud owner of a We R Memory Keepers Cinch, complete with black carrying tote! A prize with a retail value of $140.00! How’s that for a little incentive to add 10 amazing layouts to your personal family history. :)

Here’s the fine details on what you need to do in order to win this prize:

My Mind’s Eye Love Me | Mid Week Mojo

Garnet – Layout 8

Love is in the air at ScrapbookSteals.com and I love that we have our February guest sketcher that will make anyone fall in love with today’s steal, Love Me collection by My Mind’s Eye. Today Becci Manies shows how versatile the Love Me collection is by not only creating love-themed crafts or Valentine’s crafts, but a layout about New Year’s Eve!

• • • • •

With the day of love right around the corner, I could hardly wait for “Love Me” to arrive on my doorstep. I knew that I wanted to scrap photos from New Year’s Eve with the collection, to show that these papers were gorgeous for not only the Valentine’s day scrapbooking layouts. The embellishment sheet is packed with adorable accents from the banner to the colored doilies.

Before I used each embellishment, I popped it off the sheet and lightly sanded the edges to make them nice and smooth. I personalized the embellishments by inking the edges, or adding glossy accents, Stickles or sanding them more for a worn look.

I find that I have a lot of iPhone photos that are already cropped to square shape, so I wanted to create a layout that I could use these types of photos or others could easily trim them down to fit the layout.

Ever since we put the Christmas decorations away, the girls have been asking what the next holiday is that we could decorate for. They were beyond excited to wake up one morning to see this banner hanging over our fireplace. I cut eight heart shapes out of the assorted Love Me papers and decorated each heart with the Love Me embellishments. I strung them up to a few long strands of twine and attached them with washi tape to make a beautiful Valentine’s Day garland.

Lastly, what would a love-themed collection be without a couple of Valentine’s day cards? This paper pack can definitely be more vintage looking with a little distressing and inking or it can be sweet and modern with it’s shades of pink and blue.

Thank you Becci for sharing your talents and for giving me my break for the month! :)

Lime Twist Mega Paper Pack | Monday Card Madness #65

Happy New Years everyone! Hopefully everyone had a lovely and safe New Years Eve.

This year we are starting things off with a bang here at ScrapbookSteals with the My Minds Eye Lime Twist Mega Paper Pack. What’s better than a little sampling of Lime Twist from all of the different Lime Twist collections, all wrapped up into one steal? Yeah. Not much!

I don’t know about you but the new year always gives me a sense of renewal and with that sense of renewal comes the desperate desire to de-clutter and simplify. For that very reason, today’s sketch represents what I hope to accomplish in 2012 in my everyday life, simplicity.

So often I need to remember that less is more, and I definitely achieved that with this weeks card sketch, featuring not much more than three, 2″ circles cut out of the different Lime Twist collections, with a quick zig-zag stitch to hold them down.

I applaud all of you that took on my 2011 challenge to send joy.  I know sending my weekly cards to many of you definitely blessed my life and made me feel just a little bit closer to you. I plan on continuing my efforts and brightening someones day, one card at a time and hope that you too will join me in the effort.

Now it’s time to announce the winner of the December random drawing.  Michelle Duffy, you are our lucky winner! Thanks so much for participating in creating cards and for sharing your talents with us.

If you will please send an email with your address to customerservice@stealnetwork.com, we will be happy to send out a little something to hopefully help keep that card making happening.
