Monday Card Madness

Pebbles, Inc. Country Picnic | Monday Card Madness #77

Gather round, gather round card makers! It’s not every day that we are treated to a guest blogger like the Paper Crafts Go-To Gal, Teri Anderson who totally rocked the house with today’s steal, Country Picnic by Pebbles, Inc.

If you don’t know Teri you are in for an absolute treat. Teri has got to be one of the kindest, funniest, and most definitely wittiest people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! She holds a special place in my heart as our professional crafty roots had our starts together back in 2003, and it is a delight to showcase her today at ScrapbookSteals!

Hi everyone — what fun is the Country Picnic collection!

I just love the happy feel of it. Throw in flowers, cute tags and a pretty color scheme, and it makes a great collection for making a whole lot of happy, cheery cards.

I literally laid this steal in its full glory out on my desk and just spent a morning making card after card with it. I couldn’t stop. It’s so easy to mix the papers with the embellishments and the letter stickers.

I mean, check these out.

I also made a tiny set of monogram cards with it.

They are simple little notecards. Each a 3 ½” square with a strip of patterned paper, a couple circles cut from patterned paper and a letter sticker monogram on it.

And here’s the fun part! I used the packaging from the package of layered paper flower to put them in.

I stuffed the cards inside the package and then threw on a few panels of patterned paper on the outside. I finished things off by adding a tag, which I added one of those lovely flowers to.

We R Memory Keepers Sew Ribbon | Monday Card Madness #76

You know you have it — that exorbitant ribbon stash and you’re just not quite sure what to do with it. Obviously you won’t part with it as ribbon is practically a girl’s best friend! While you’re at it, you may as well add to that stash because with today’s steal, the Sew Ribbon by We R Memory Keepers, your ribbon will have a whole new meaning of love. And if the Sew Ribbon weren’t enough to have your heart palpitating with excitement, today’s guest blogger, the infinitely talented and highly published Roree Rumph, will have you weak in the knees with her amazing creations.

Hey everyone!  Roree here, and today I have some cards to share with you that I created with the We R Memory Keepers Sew Ribbon.  This is a really fun and easy tool to use and it is perfect for cards (which I love to make.)

First off are a couple of cards I made using the Sew Ribbon Weave.

I created a stem for the flower using the Sew Ribbon Green Ribbon. I added a few brads in the spaces between the ribbon, looped a piece of ribbon, and tucked it behind the laced ribbon for a leaf.

Using the same Sew Ribbon Weave, I made a quick and easy card with a rainbow of ribbon-stitched lines.

This card ‘pops’ with all of the rows of colorful ribbon.

For the next card, I used the Sew Ribbon Shoelace.

I made a frame around my card with the orange ribbon. To create the frame, I place the Sew Ribbon along the top and bottom of the card and punched. For the sides, I flipped the paper over to punch. It kept the ribbon slanting in the same direction.

For the next two cards I used the Sew Ribbon Leaf.  This one was my favorite!

For the first card, I created a patterned background with the aqua ribbon. I punched two rows together, and I added some large brads to the center of each pair.

I really love how this one turned out!

Here is my last card:

Instead of starting and stopping the threading at the edges, I started threading the ribbon at the inside from the front, reached it around the back, and finished threading it on the other side. This allowed me to finish by tying the ends together in a bow.

It seems like the options are endless with these fun tools, and I can’t wait to try it out on more projects.  Thanks so much for letting me share my cards with you today.  Have a great day!

Authentique Journey | Monday Card Madness #74

Do you ever feel like you are aching to take a journey? Maybe a little trip to somewhere you’ve never been or even just a quick escape to the mall? Well today’s steal, Authentique Journey, might be just what you are looking for to take a journey in your card making, paper crafting or scrapbooking!

Today we are so excited to, once again, be featuring the talented designers of the Authentique Design Team. This time, however, there is a little twist that I gave them and actually invited them to participate in Monday Card Madness by using a card sketch that I provided for them.

I love how Natalie Dever interpreted the sketch by adding the ticket embellishment. Such a great interpretation of the sketch. :)

Authentique Journey

Misty Buck always pleases with everything she touches!

I love how Cristine Redmond distressed the edges of the papers and added the twine. I must say the quality of Authentique paper is perfect for adding the little bit of distressing.

Authentique Journey

Jeannie DeGruccio absolutely blew me away with her interpretation of the sketch. I love the stitched paper and the flower is perfection!

Authentique Journey

Now we can’t forget the amazing Emily Lanham that recently treated us to such incredible projects using the We R Memory Keepers Hardware. I think you’ll agree that her interpretation of the sketch is equally as amazing.

Lastly we are treated to another fantastic interpretation of the sketch by Heather Conklin. Once again the paper choices and layering is true perfection!

Thanks so much to the A-Team for playing along with today’s Monday Card Madness. Be sure to check out each of the designers own personal blogs by clicking on each of their names. Oodles of ideas and inspiration at your fingertips!

For those of you that are wondering what to do with your amazing cards, now that we are currently in between card swaps here at ScrapbookSteals, one of our fans, Lori Burton, brought to my attention an amazing opportunity that we card crafters can participate in. Many have heard the tragic news of a school shooting at Chardon High School in Chardon, Ohio. The students are not asking for anything other than cards. They would love a card  from anyone that would like to help participate in wallpapering the walls of their schools to help memorialize their friends and loved ones.

If you would like to create a card to help in their wish it can be sent to:

Have a great day and be sure to check in tomorrow when we take a break from our How To’sday’s with an amazing treat from guest blogger Shaunte Wadley. Seriously. It will blow you away.

Teresa Collins Spring Fling | Monday Card Madness #73

If you’re like me and are counting down the days until warmer weather, then today’s steal, the brand new CHA release, Spring Fling by Teresa Collins, might be just what the doctor ordered! Beautiful butterflies, poppies, gems and buttons are sure to make any paper crafting project a breath of fresh air.

As some of you know, we recently finished up another round of card swapping here at ScrapbookSteals. Not too long ago I was ooohing and ahhhing over a card that one of our crafty fans, Kelly Marks had posted on our Facebook fan page. Imagine my delight when that card showed up for the card swap!

I sheepishly have to admit. I kind of kept that card for myself, being as I loved it the moment I saw it and wanted to base this week’s card sketch off of the design.

I love the simplicity of the design and thought it worked perfectly with the patterns and embellishments in the Spring Fling collection.

Thanks so much Kelly for being our Monday Card Madness inspiration. :) I’ll do my best to not hoard the card and send it back out to brighten someone’s day!

I’m sure you know that It’s truly been an exciting weekend here at ScrapbookSteals and our fan page is on fire with inspiration from our online crop on Friday night. Be sure to stop by and take a peek at all of the amazing creations, and also be sure to have your February Monday Card Madness creations posted and linked to one of the Monday Card Madness blog postings by this upcoming Friday at 11:59 pm MST,  in order to be eligible for our monthly giveaway!

I’ll be seeing you tomorrow with another fantastic tutorial for How To’sday!

Teresa Collins Carolina Breeze | Monday Card Madness #72

I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw today’s steal, the Teresa Collins Carolina Breeze collection. In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen anything so perfectly classy in a very long time. The union of yellow and grey with the classical, chic feel of Teresa Collins, is bound to ensure some pretty fantastic paper crafting!

I also admit that my heart skipped another wee beat when I knew I would be able to use the 6×6 paper pad for creating today’s Monday Card Madness. There’s just something about a mini print that makes creating a card perfection. The sheets of stickers and die cuts also took the brain work out of the card making and added some perfect finishing touches.

I honestly can’t say enough good about the Carolina Breeze collection and I’m pretty excited to put it to use on a layout as well. I love the fact that any photo on the planet turned black and while will look stellar with this collection. I bet it would even make a photo of my son playing in the mud look pretty darn classy!

The Valentine cards that everyone shared last week were awesome! What a treat it is to get to see the creative minds of so many of you. If you haven’t already joined our Facebook community and would like to join in on the fun of sharing all sorts of inspiration with each other, we’d love to have you!

Let me also shout out a huge thank you to those of you that participated in the first card swap of the year. I’m still waiting on a few packages to arrive and once they do I will be sorting and shipping back out your cards. As always there is some pretty amazing talent rocking our midst.

Be sure to check in tomorrow for an awesome How To’sday tutorial by Charity Becker.

Have a super scrappy day!
