Monday Card Madness

American Crafts, Amy Tangerine Sketchbook | Monday Card Madness #82

It’s that time of year where the shoes come off and the flip flops reign. That feeling of complete footy freedom is exactly the feeling that today’s steal, the American Crafts, Amy Tangerine Sketchbook Collection instills on my crafty heart. Whimsical, fun, slightly 70s and fancy free! Makes me wanna throw on my long boho chic dress and go running with my flip flops through fields of flowers as if I had not a care in the world. Or I could use the papers to pretend that life were always that simple. Seems like a good trade for me! :)

What is simple however, is how easily the Sketchbook collection made putting together the cards for this week’s Monday Card Madness.

I love the embellishments in this collection. I kind of think that I have an embellishment addiction. Seems like I say the same thing every week, but it’s true! Embellishments make me happy. Don’t you just love how the 3D floral embellishments and the satin brads really finish off these cards?

The worst part about making these cards was find the other pack of really cute embellies buried on my desk after I’d cleaned up! :)

Guess I’ll have to put this collection to work making a layout about my biggie girlies or even myself! Such a let loose, uninhibited collection!

Now I think it may be time to host another cards swap here at ScrapbookSteals. What do you say? Post here and give me a thumbs up if you’d like to play and if there is enough interest, we’ll get the ball rolling.

Check in tomorrow for another awesome manufacturer blog posting, Wednesday for the beginning of our Turquoise gem series of Mid Week Mojo and this month’s amazing guest sketcher, Friday for a pretty swell guest blogger as well as Friday night for our online crop to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day (details coming soon)!

Yup. It’s a fun week for sure!

Take care and scrap happy! <3

My Mind’s Eye Lost and Found 2 Sunshine | Monday Card Madness #81

I think today’s steal, the My Mind’s Eye Lost and Found 2 Sunshine Collection is just what we need to warm up a chilly spring. The soothing golden and yellow tones with a sprinkling of sage are sure to be the perfect match for many paper crafting projects. Another love about this collection is the music papers. Given that I live with two band geeks those papers have already been reserved for use! Whether it’s for scrapbooking their performance photos or for their practice needs is yet to be determined.

What has been determined is that the Sunshine collection was a delight to create cards with!

The sparkly embellishments in this collection were the inspiration for my card creations along with my current love of banners. The prints on the papers of this collection are such that just a little addition of embellishments make for perfect cards.

One more favorite about My Mind’s Eye? It smells the best. Scrapbook nerd alert. I know. :)

October Afternoon Sidewalk Collection | Monday Card Madness #80

One look at today’s steal, the October Afternoon Sidewalk Collection definitely took me on a trip down memory lane with growing up in the 70s. It was another reminder that my 30-something status is about to expire. This collection is filled with such a happy color palate, unlike the avocado green and gold appliances from my childhood. In fact the Sidewalk Collection is such a perfect accompaniment to those projects screaming for a little bit of vintage flair with a modern twist of perfection. And the buttons? Beyond. Cute.

This collection was so much fun to work with. It was really a tough call to decide which papers to use that would show off just how amazing this collection is because all of the papers are darling! And I even let out a gasp of adoration when I discovered at the bottom of my pile of October Afternoon goodness, the package of Little Flyers. What a brilliant idea, to allow the crafter to dress up the pennants exactly how they want! I obviously knew I wanted to use them so my cards this week ended up being heavily pennant/banner based.

I love how cheerful these cards turned out and I can’t wait to send them along to someone to brighten their day.

Now I can’t wait to put the rest of the collection to use on some layouts! LOVE!

We R Memory Keepers Sew Stamper | Monday Card Madness #79

So you think you can’t stamp huh? I admit it. I can’t. It always looks like something my 4 year old created (not that his creations are terrible). However, with today’s steal the We R Memory Keepers Sew Stamper, the mystery of stamping has all of the sudden become a whole lot less intimidating, and in fact, down right easy. A simple flick of the lid and an easy roll and your project is dressed up with just the perfect touch of stampy goodness.

Lucky for you today we get to elaborate on the Sew Stamper perfection. You’ll be thrilled that today we have some guest bloggers from the We R Memory Keepers Design team. (Did I mention perfection?)

Heidi Van Laar was so kind as to let us use one of her cards as the foundation for this week’s official Monday Card Madness sketch.

It was incredibly difficult to decide which of her awesome cards to use but I’m so in love with banners right now that my heart skipped a little beat over this card.

Here is your sketch for those of you printing them off for future inspiration.

I love the little touch of faux stitching that the Sew Stamper has added to Heidi’s other cards.

The border rows of stamping on this layout finish things off beautifully.

Ann Corbiere-Scott also shows how the Sew Stamper can be incorporated into a great finishing touch for a layout.

I especially love on this layout how she achieves the look of stitching across her center circles with no fuss of hauling out the sewing machine. 2.3 seconds flat! Now that’s my kind of embellishing. Quick enough that I can still pull off a gorgeous project and dinner by 5:30. Maybe.

I’d like to thank these talented girls for sharing their projects with us today. Please be sure to click on their names and stop by their blogs to find oodles of additional inspiration.

My Mind’s Eye Kraft Funday Everyday Fun | Monday Card Madness #78

Sometimes I long for the brilliance and simplicity of childhood. My boys especially seem to find mischief fun in everyday things. (Remember the tie dye debacle in my layout last week?) Well, today’s steal, the Kraft Funday, Everyday Fun Kit by My Minds Eye is such a perfect collection to scrap those everyday fun moments of life, or to make a card to send the neighbor apologizing for my son dousing their dog in carpet cleaner. (Yes. That is also another truth-an entire bottle!) And what’s not to love about kraft? The perfect color to go with everything. Pair that with a bunch of gorgeous embellishments and childhood friendly designs, and you are set for all sorts of amazing creations.

I love the pinwheel and banner embellishments in today’s steal so much that I wanted to make them the focus of this weeks sketch.

On the first card I made I used the big chipboard pinwheels. I added a little inking around the edges to make them pop.

I’m crazy in love with the little wooden banner embellishments so on my next card I used one of them and added a little shimmer color to the tag.

And can you believe how cute this circle garland is? WOW!

I loved this collection so much that I had to create a couple more!

I just LOVE My Mind’s Eye. They can certainly turn an everyday into a FUNDAY.

And now I’m going to add a little bit of fun to one lucky card makers day. Kristin Hoffart! You are our lucky random winner for the March Monday Card Madness creations.

I love your card that was inspired by one of the amazing creations by Roree Rumph.

Kristin, if you would please send an email with your address to, and let them know that you are the March card winner, we will get a little scrappy goodness sent your way. Hooray for a funday!
