We R Memory Keepers Washi Tape | Monday Card Madness #88

I remember the first time I saw We R Memory Keepers Washi Tape I was at Winter CHA (Craft & Hobby Association Trade Show) and I truly wanted to somehow finagle some of the gorgeous tape into my luggage. Alas, it was a no go as it wasn’t even available for purchase yet, so imagine my delight when I found out that ScrapbookSteals would be featuring the whole array of tapes as today’s steal!

And what perfect timing to be featuring an amazing We R Memory Keepers product as we are thrilled to be teaming up with them for their Operation Write Home card drive to show our support of the troops stationed overseas. It’s for a great cause and there are some pretty sweet prizes to be had, so you might just want to check it out!

I decided to do my part in helping We R Memory Keepers reach their goal of collecting 50,000 cards and created my initial cards this week using some red and blue tapes.

On this card I cut stars out of the red paper and then backed the two smaller stars with the blue washi tape.

I kept to the patriotic theme with this card, and again backed behind the star with blue washi, as well as a red houndstooth strip across the middle.

Next I decided to make a card using the washi flower tutorial by Misty Buck.

I had fun adding a splash of peach to this card in addition to a row of turquoise houndstooth washi.

I finished up my washi card making spree with this simple card using strips of washi to create the background of the card.

We are also pleased to be teaming up We R Memory Keepers Operation Write Home card drive for a fantastic giveaway! We have a lovely Red White and Blue Stack Pack that will be given to one random winner who participated in the Operation Write Home card drive.

To enter to win, all you have to do is:

We will have a random drawing from all of the card drive participants. The winner will be announced on our July 30th Monday Card Madness blog post. (Don’t forget! Post your cards to a regular Monday Card Madness blog post to be eligible for our regular monthly drawing.)

Let’s do our part to help collect 50,000 cards! I’ve done my part to bring them 5 cards closer. :)

Good luck!

My Mind’s Eye Indie Chic Citron | Monday Card Madness #87

“Oh wow!” Yes, that’s what I said when I saw today’s steal, the My Mind’s Eye, Indie Chic Citron collection. I thought the Indie Chic Nutmeg collection was my favorite, but now I think maybe Citron holds my heart! What a perfect collection for this time of year with summer at our doorstep. The blends of blues, greens, corals and yellows are perfect for anything from making a card for a June bride to creating a layout of your summer camping trip.

I haven’t created anything downright girly for quite awhile so I decided to let the beautiful floral prints in this collection be my inspiration. Now don’t be fooled—I wouldn’t describe this as a floral collection. This is an all around multi-tasking collection.

The next two cards I created are traditional A2 size, but the sketch worked perfectly to work with the smaller format.

Gosh, I love My Mind’s Eye! If you have a chance, take a moment to pop by their Facebook Fan page and let them know how much ScrapbookSteals loves featuring their products at great prices!

Can you believe another month has already passed? That means it’s time for a random drawing for our Monday Card Madness sketches participants! The crafty diva who won some scrappy swag is….. Amy Williams Congratulations! Thanks for taking time in your crafty life to participate! :)

Add to the mind-boggling mega fun is the fact that today we have seven lovely ladies that have taken on the challenge of splitting up one of the mega dream bundles to show you just how many cards you can make with this steal.

To kick off the fun I asked our design team member, Cyndee Kawa to come up with the sketch for the rest of the girls to use as inspiration.

Look at the mega awesomeness that came flooding in, mind you, from ONE STEAL!

Cyndee Kawa kicks off the lineup with these these awe-inspiring creations. Nineteen to be exact!

Jen McDermott stupefies with sixteen cards. And yes! This is still the same kit!

Minousha Bari blows it out of the water with twenty two incredible cards.

Now we have Karen Weingartner who also took a stab at creating from this single kit. Her take on the sketch is fantastic with fourteen awesome cards.

And now we finish up the fun display of today’s steal with cards from Erin Schultz. Twenty-five inspiring cards to be exact!

Wow. Can you believe that? One-Hundred-Twenty-Two total cards from ONE MEGA STEAL! And to think, I’m sure they could have each squeezed out a few more! Be sure to swing by each of their blogs for more inspiring ideas and maybe even a few more cards using today’s Authentique steal.

Studio Calico Classic Calico, Vol. 2 | Monday Card Madness #85

Sometimes I can be pretty neutral and it can be somewhat annoying to my husband. “Where would you like to go for dinner dear? Oh I don’t mind. You decide.” Or “What movie should we see? Really it’s up to you. I’m neutral.” However today’s steal, the Studio Calico Classic Calico, Vol. 2 makes me thrilled about embracing neutrality. I adore a paper collection of neutral colors and basic prints to make the perfect companion to embellishments that pop with color or even a subtle project with the right amount of warmth.

The first card that I created I wanted to add a little spritz of color with my Mr. Huey’s. I love how neutral the papers are so that I could add the pops of color and easily have the focus on the sentiment and embellishment without overpowering them.

For the next card, I used the same method and made a card for my hunny.

After that I decided to create a more neutral card and added nothing of bold color. I love how subtle the “hi” is.

I then created two more cards where I used the sketch as a springboard, and these are what my ideas morped into. I love how I was able to incorporate embellies from several different manufacturers because the papers are so perfectly neutral!  L-O-V-E!

If you aren’t aware we have a monthly drawing for those that participate in Monday Card Madness. If you are interested in playing along with our Monday Card Madness sketches and winning the random drawing for May, be sure to have your cards created and posted to one of the Monday Card Madness sketches by Friday, June 1st at 11:59 pm.

Authentique 6×6 Pad Bundles | Monday Card Madness #84

Authentique lovers you are in for a treat today! Seven different 6×6 Authentique Pad Bundles are up for grabs in today’s steal. That means lots of different patterns, stickers and die cut embellishments to fill just about every need. Yup, pretty much a 6×6 patterned paper dream.

I love 6×6 pads for creating cards. The mini prints really lend to creating a card with just the right touch. I decided to pick two of the Authentique lines that I haven’t had the pleasure of playing yet, to create this week’s Monday Card Madness creations.

First off I tinkered around with the Loyal collection. I absolutely love the combination of greens and blues and think it would be so suitable for so many things.

On the first card I went with a generic “hello” theme which would really be great for young and old, male and female alike!

Next I decided to create a card baby boy themed that used one of the many darling baby boy themed diecuts in the collection.

I then had the pleasure of creating with the Delightful collection. I simply re-created the themes of the first two cards and made these in a snap!

Gosh I love Authentique! So much fun to play with.

If you are interested in playing along with our Monday Card Madness sketches and winning the random drawing for May, be sure to have your cards created and posted to one of the Monday Card Madness sketches by Friday, June 1st at 11:59 pm.
