Lifestyle Crafts Border Dies | Mid Week Mojo

Amber – Week 3 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo? Get started here!

The Lifestyle Crafts Border dies are great fun and so easy to use – they add just the right amount of pizazz to any scrapbooking layout! You can use the dies with paper and cardstock for quick and easy borders, or use them as masks with your favorite misting sprays. The choice is yours! Here is this week’s sketch:

And here is my layout. The border dies gave just the right amount of background interest for this layout – and I felt that the rest of the page needed to be kept simple to really highlight them.

The border is quite delicate, so I just added some stitched hearts to the corners, to frame the borders and photos.

Adding dimension and texture to scrapbooking layouts

I haven’t added the journaling to my layout quite yet – but there is plenty of room to add it wherever you want. I hope I have inspired you to create your own layout from this sketch!

Our lucky random winner for the week is Jessica Arrant! Such a great layout – I just LOVE your interpretation of the sketch! That elephant is just TOO cute! Please let our customer service know you are this week’s winner in an email with your address to service@steals.com and we will be happy to send some sweet swag your way!

Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folders | Monday Craft Madness #13

The Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folders are super easy to use, and with endless possibilities you can never have too many! Whether you are embossing a card, a layout, using it as a frame or tag, there is something for everyone in today’s steal. Here is this week’s Monday Craft Madness inspiration and theme:

White + 1

Use white plus one other color only on your project! I have used white+pink and white+blue for my projects.

I decided to make a traditional embossed background card for my first project.

DIY handmade embossed baby boy card

I wanted to highlight the embossing as much as I could and so used a sponge with my inks to gently rub over the embossing. I love the way it highlights the edges of the embossing – giving so much more dimension to the background.

I added stitching and a button to the title card for a little more interest and to emphasize the white+1 theme.

Next up, I wanted to show you how easily the embossing folder could be used as a frame. I’m not sure why I ended up with another baby themed project – it just happened! I was looking for another white+1 and just happened upon pink!

DIY handmade baby gift

I embossed some plain white card stock and fussy cut the frame.

I put this onto a plain pail and used vellum behind the frame to give it a little more interest. The pink and white flowers were added along with the pearl bling and the word ‘cherish.’ It makes a great gift – baby or other!

I hope I have inspired you to start work on your ‘white+1′ projects this week. Remember, they can be any project you like – there are so many possibilities. Just remember to have fun! :)

Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Dies | Monday Craft Madness #8

The Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Dies are so easy and fun to use. They’re perfect for cards, layouts and gifts. Even my daughter loves to create using them! Now that the holidays have been and gone, what is the next big event we Papercrafters create for? Valentines Day! Which means this week’s Monday Craft Madness theme is:

Valentines!

I chose to use the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Lace Hearts for my projects. They are so versatile. There are 5 dies from 1″-5.8″ –  you really can make whatever you want!

The first thing I always have to make is a Valentine’s Day card for my loved one! I went plain and simple with my card, using the 1″ die to cut out 15 white and 1 red heart. Arrange them in a grid formation, add a simple rub-on sentiment, and voilà! A card in under 30 minutes!

Next I thought about all the gifts given out at school. I started with the teacher gift. This phrase (‘Mrs Kreuger rules’) is something my daughter often writes to her teacher on her the back of her work when she has finished!

And lastly – it seems they all have to give each other gifts too (this is so different from the UK!). Here are the gifts for the girls in her class (the boys gifts will appear on here sometime in the future!) – mini loveheart treat bags. The die cut hearts make the perfect labels!

I hope I have inspired you to start work on your Valentines projects this week. Just remember to have fun! :)

Lifestyle Crafts It Kit

I love what Fall Design Team member Julie Koets has done with today’s steal, the Lifestyle Crafts It Kit. Julie worked it! This is definitely going in my ‘steal’ cart today!

• • • • •

I was thrilled when I was asked to work with the Lifestyle Crafts It Kits. The tags kit that I was asked to feature had 16 different tags that are easily cut using any die-cutting machine.  These kits are perfect for all paper crafters and will take your projects to new levels!
Keeping things simple, I first set out to make a quick card using the scalloped half circle to showcase my sentiment.
I tried another card, this time using four of the different dies.  The dark red paper was cut using one of the dies, along with the strip under my sentiment that I cut from balsa wood.  The tree is even made from three of the scalloped half circles that I folded and layered into a tree shape and the trunk was cut using a small rectangle die.
For my final project, I wanted to showcase as many of the dies as possible and add some life to a two page layout.  The banner die made it super easy to cut my title banner.  All of the shapes used to embellish this layout (with the exception of two strips of paper) were cut using dies from the tags kit.
It’s hard to believe, but my term on the Scrapbook Steals design team has officially come to an end.  I was lucky to work with other talented ladies and was thrilled to work with such great products.   Big thanks to ScrapbookSteals for letting this “ordinary fan” be part of such an amazing team.  I can’t wait to see who will get to inspire us for the Winter Design Team!

Julie – I love all of the projects you have made over your DT term! You make it all look so easy! I just want to say a huge thank you for everything you have done and we hope to still see you on the blog and on Facebook in the future. :)

Thanks for stopping by everyone and be sure to tune in again on Monday for a new Monday Craft Madness!

Lifestyle Crafts Box Dies | How To’sday

I’m here today to show you just how easy and fun the Lifestyle Crafts Box Dies really are! I have two examples to show you that can be used for any theme imaginable!

First up – the treat carrier cutting die:

Step 1. Cut out 2 of each of the box shapes.

Step 2. Add extra stong double sided adhesive tape onto the flaps of the base cut out.

Step 3. Attach the base cut out (as shown below) – you need to make 2 of these.

Step 4. Add extra stong double sided adhesive tape to the back of one side of a treat box, and stick together.

Step 5. Use the smaller die cuts in the pack to make the decorative banners and sentiment pieces for your treat carrier.

You are now ready to decorate! I went for a snowman soup theme :

The next box file I was given to play with was the popcorn box:

Step 1. Cut out box using die.

Step 2. Add extra strong double sided adhesive to the flap on the right hand side:

Step 3. Fold in the bottom flaps as shown below:

Time to have fun and decorate! These boxes are so quick and easy to make – you could use them as party favors, baby shower gifts, teacher presents….the list is endless! Here are a few more of my examples:

I hope I have inspired you to hit that ‘steal’ button! These box dies really are super simple and fun to use, with endless possibilities.
