Love Elsie, Cody | Mid Week Mojo #49

Love Elsie, Cody | Mid Week Mojo #49

Hello scrappy girls! Can you believe it’s time for Mid Week Mojo once again? I’d been dying to scrapbook photos of my most recent running adventure, so I begged Melodee to let me work with today’s steal, the Cody Collection by Love Elsie. Even though the Cody collection is slightly more sports related, I really loved the colors and thought they would go great with the photos from my adventure.

Because I had so many photos that I wanted to capture on one layout, I decided to challenge myself with a sketch housing 11 photos.

I actually even decided to squeeze three more onto the layout than I made for myself.

I admit that I’m a true sucker for the whimsical feeling of the Love Elsie collections. The chipboard letters are some of my favorites!

I also love the little chipboard embellishments to add that finishing touch.

Now I’m sure you’ve all been waiting to find out who the lucky random winners to our online crop challenges are — wait no longer!

Stamped Backgrounds | Monday Card Madness #31

Stamped Backgrounds | Monday Card Madness #31

I had fun using stamps for today’s Monday Card Madness. In fact I enjoyed it so much that this week I’ve decided to ditch the sketch and issue a challenge to use stamps as a background for this weeks Monday Card Madness. If you don’t have any stamps or are always on the lookout for new ones, then today’s steal—the KI Memories Icon Stamp Kit would make a lovely addition for your crafty collection.

For this week’s cards, I turned to my stamp stash and had fun custom making the backgrounds of these two cards.

I used a simple flower stamp and stamped randomly on a white piece of cardstock in different colors of ink. It turned out completely happy, don’t you think?

For the next card I took a slightly more elegant approach. I decided to use a darker color scheme, but repeated the same process of randomly stamping the image onto white cardstock, using three different colors of ink.

This week I want to give a shout out to Sarah Mattern. I love her card and the purple and green color combo.

After creating your cards, post them to our Facebook fan page or personal blog then leave a link with your creation here on the blog in order to be eligible for our monthly drawing for a little scrappy goodness. You have until May 6th at 11:59 pm MST to have your creations for April posted in order to be eligible for our monthly drawing.

Be sure to check in tomorrow at 9am for another fantastic How To’sday, this time brought to you by Melissa Dehne.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Love Elsie Collection Kit | Mid Week Mojo #39

It’s true. I squealed when Melodee showed me today’s steal, the KI Memories—Love Elsie—Cody and Zoe collections. I squealed yet again when I knew I’d be working with these collections for this weeks Mid Week Mojo. I honestly couldn’t decide if I wanted to do a “boy” or a “girl” layout so I compromised and did a boy layout using the girl papers.  :)

I positively love how perfectly the Zoe collection worked for the photos that I took of my little guy coloring Easter eggs. The artsy and whimsical feel of Elsie Flannigans style is a favorite of mine and paired perfectly my three-year-old’s artistic way of dyeing eggs.

I included several photos but wanted to keep it one page, so I re-sized the photos in Photoshop so that they would work with the design of the sketch.

Today’s collections both come with some amazing embellishments. I used the alpha rub-ons from the Zoe collection to create my title.

Then I used some of the chipboard and rubber embellishments to finish off the page.

Now for the most exciting part of Mid Week Mojo, our weekly winner! Congrats to Kelly Marks.

Kelly, will you please email your address to and we will be happy to send you out a little scrappy goodness.

We are now nearing the end of another amazing 10 weeks of Mid Week Mojo sketches. Don’t forget to be eligible for our Sapphire Club prize that you must complete all 10 of the Sapphire Club sketches (#31-40), and have them posted somewhere online such as our Facebook Fan page or your personal blog. Mid Week Mojo #39 must be posted no later than Monday, April 25th at 11:59 pm MST.

Have a great day and scrap happy!

Say it with Stickers! KI Memories Gel Candy Epoxy Stickers. (MCM #18)

Say it with Stickers! KI Memories Gel Candy Epoxy Stickers. (MCM #18)

I love today’s steal.  You know, I feel like I say that just about every day, but I do!  I’m like a kid in a candy shop whenever Melodee brings me new product to shoot for the page, and today’s steal, the KI Memories, Gel Candy Epoxy Stickers is of no exception!

They truly take me back to my childhood, to a time when I was pretty in love with collecting stickers.  Smurf stickers, Holly Hobbie, Scratch and Sniff, and of course,  I  always loved when I was able to add an epoxy sticker to my collection.   (Yes…they were few and far between wayyyyyyyyyyyy back then!)

For this weeks Monday Card Madness, I decided to not to have a set sketch but more of a challenge.  Your challenge is to use stickers. (Although by all means, feel free to use my cards to copy!)

I had so much fun putting to use some of the stickers in the Gel Candy collections as well as the Love Elsie collections.  I love the fresh colors as well as the slight demension that an epoxy sticker gives to a project.

The first two cards that I made each have a sticker from the Love Elsie collections.  I’ve always loved Elsie Flannagans whimsical, doodling style.

On the second card I wanted to keep the soft feel of the design of the cards and used my corner rounder on the sticker to take away the sharp edges.

I was honestly a little stumped as to which Gel Candy stickers to use for my other cards, because there are SO many to choose from.  KI Memories named their product well, as it truly is like being in a candy shop trying to decide what to use.  :)

I loved the pink stickers, so I used an assortment of them to create the design of this card.

I also loved the round circle from all of the sets and started using a bunch of them, but settled on one from the pink set for this card.  I added some rubons on top and was able to create a unique sentiment.

So how have you done on sending out joy?  I hope that we are starting to see cards surfacing all over the continent, to brighten someones day!

We will have the first Monday Card Madness drawing of the year next Monday.  You have until Sunday night to get your cards posted to our Facebook Fan Page with a link to the blog in order to be eligible for the drawing.  The winner will receive something great from our prize closet that will help in the creating of MORE cards!  :)

Be sure to check in tomorrow as we have another fantastic How To’sday, in the works!  One you will not want to miss.

Have a great day!  As always.  Scrap happy!  :)
