American Crafts Nightfall | Monday Card Madness #56

Wow! Can you believe it’s already Halloween? What better way to celebrate than with today’s highly functional and multi-purpose collection Nightfall by American Crafts?

I truly cannot say enough praise about the fantastic job that American Crafts has done on this collection.

Single-handedly this collection can meet the needs of Halloween.

Fall fun projects.

And even generic as can be!

This collection even comes complete with a set of the chalkboard journaling tags, which are so much fun!

So if you’ve been waiting for that perfect fall/Halloween collection to come your way, then I’d have to say that the wait is over.

You have until Friday to complete any of the October Monday Card Madness sketches in order to be eligible as our October Monday Card Madness winner. Scrapping Cottage

Who doesn’t love little things? I know I do. If you are a fan of “little” then today’s steal, the Mini Die Collections from Scrapping Cottage, are sure to be right up your alley. I have to admit, that my only problem with the dies offered today were, #1 – deciding which ones to use, and #2 – forcing myself to quit creating so that I could get the blog post ready for today! :)

I’m kind of a sucker for Halloween. In fact it will be 22 years ago this upcoming Halloween night that my dear husband and I met! As much fun as I have dressing up my little goblins, I think I love even more that it’s my anniversary of sorts, so I went for creating with the Halloween collection first and made a card (or two) using the spider and bat dies that I could give to my hunny on our special day. Now to decide which one to give to him!

I also thought it could be very fun to make a bag topper for class parties or for an extra special treat bag for extra special trick-or-treaters, so I put the ridiculously cute cat die to use!

Next I moved on to some Holiday themed cards being as I really need to finish up my Holiday cards for the card swap! These are the three cards that I created using the gingerbread man, reindeer and Ho, Ho, Ho dies.

Well. There you have it. A little piece of mini-die heaven!

I hope you have a great weekend. Be safe and scrap happy!

My Minds Eye Halloween | Monday Card Madness #48

I love this time of year! In fact our weather here in Utah is definitely starting to have that nip in the air in the mornings and evenings and that  means that autumn is right around the corner. With fall comes one of the most fun holidays to celebrate—Halloween. Today’s steal, the My Minds Eye Haunted and Blackbird collections are the perfect additions to add to your collection to be ready for all of the fall time fun!

I was so excited about the major cute factor of both collections that I really just started creating cards. I tried to stick to a plan, but I was having so much fun with the papers that I sort of morphed from one sketch idea to another.

Here is the original plan so that is what we will go with for the official Monday Card Madness sketch.

The first card I made I mixed up a little of both collections. I absolutely LOVE the flocking of the Haunted papers and the fun characters of the Blackbird collection.

On the next two cards I put to use one of the super cute border di-cuts from the Blackbird collection.

My daughter, Sarah, even asked if she could jump in on the card-crafting fun and whipped up this cute little number.

I then made another hybrid card using pieces from both collections. Doesn’t the bat border from the Haunted collection work perfectly on this card?

I then realized how versatile the Haunted collection actually is. Even if you aren’t a fan of Halloween, this collection can certainly be used to create some pretty amazing, non-Halloween themed projects.

Yup, it’s official. I think I’m ready for fall!

I guess we are one month closer to the crisp cool air and that means it’s time to do our August card drawing.

Our lucky winner for the August Monday Card Madness is, Deborah Johnson.

Deborah, if you can please send an email with your address to customerservice@stealnetwork.com we will be happy to send a prize out to you.

For those of you that participated in last card swap, the swap will be happening soon. I will email each of you and let you know when to be on the lookout for the cards in return. :)

Also stay tuned for details of our next card swap, holiday-themed style!

As for September cards, in order to be eligible for the monthly drawing your cards will need to be posted and linked by Friday, September 30th, at 11:59 pm MST.

Be sure to check in tomorrow for our next amazing How To’sday — this time brought to us by Erica Bass.

Have a great Monday!

Martha Stewart Storage | Mid Week Mojo #40

Martha Stewart Storage | Mid Week Mojo #40

Wow! Can you believe it — forty weeks of inspiration with our Mid Week Mojos? It’s time to add another gem to our list of Mojo clubs. With sketch #40 comes the potential to be a part of our Sapphire Club.

I am so excited about today’s sketch. Some time ago one of our fans, Joanna Alcock approached me asking if we could do something to help celebrate her dear sister, Nicole Radawetz’s birthday. Nicole has been such an important part of Joanna’s life, for many reasons amongst turning her to the passion of scrapbooking. These girls are both such a wonderful part of ScrapbookSteals so I was thrilled to help Joanna prepare a sketch to hold photos from their childhood.

I had a great time using today’s steal, the Martha Stewart Filled Storage Box to create this week’s Mojo. Even though the patterned papers in the collection were Halloween-themed, I thought they worked perfectly with these photos of my son sleeping.

I love how today’s steal comes such a delicious array of solid cardstock. It worked perfectly for printing out journaling strips and for cutting out flourishes for my layout.

And now for Nicole’s birthday surprise!

“In order to show my sister how much she means to me, how much I appreciate that she got me into scrapbooking, and how glad I am that she is my best friend, I recruited Kristy to help with a most special birthday surprise for her.  Happy Birthday Nicole!” ~ Jo

We had another great week filled of inspiration. Our lucky random winner for sketch #39 is Nancy Roth!

Thank you Nancy for sharing such an important part of your mommyhood with us. Please send us an email to service@scrapbooksteals.com and we will get your prize sent out!

Now I know you’ve all been anticipating what the next big prize for Sapphire Club will be. No need to wait any longer to find out. Melodee worked her magic and came up with this amazing card kit by Creating Keepsakes.

If you are interested in being the proud owner of this amazing card collection, then here is what you have to do.

  • After you complete MWM #40, enter your comment on this blog post with a link to your layout from our Facebook fan page or your own personal blog. The regular weekly winner will be selected from this posting.
  • If you are a Sapphire Club member (meaning that you have completed sketches #31-40),  please make a comment on the “I’m Sapphire” blog posting listing the titles and/or links of all ten of your layouts. Note: if you are catching up on Mid Week Mojos prior to the past three weeks and are unable to leave a comment with a link on a former blog posting, simply send me an email to kristy@stealnetwork.com with the links.
  • If you are a Diamond, Emerald Ruby and Sapphire Club member, you have four chances to win.  You will need to make separate comments on the “I’m Sapphire!” blog post listing each of your “Club” creations.  You will need to list the names of your Diamond Club layouts (#’s 1 -1 0) in one comment, the names of your Emerald Club layouts (#’s 11 – 20) in second comment, the names of your Ruby Club layouts (#21 – 30) in a third comment, and finally your Sapphire Club layouts (#’s 31 – 40) in yet another separate comment.  If your layouts are all listed in the same comment it will only be counted as one entry.

Also, for those of you wishing to catch up, here is an easy reference link to the sketches for the  Diamond Club Layouts, the Emerald Club Layouts , the Ruby Club Layouts, and the Sapphire Club Layouts.

Now are you ready for one more exciting thing? Our wonderful graphic designer has worked her magic and has created some blog blinkies for each of the clubs. Now you can dress up your blog and strut your Scrapbook Steals stuff — you deserve it! If you are a member of any of the four existing clubs then you click here to find your Diamond, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire Club blinkies.  Simply scroll down to find the size and type of blinky that you are after!

Good luck girls!

Mid Week Mojo #15 with a shiny new look! (Also Online Crop Challenge #1)

Mid Week Mojo #15 with a shiny new look! (Also Online Crop Challenge #1)

Wow.  Do you like the new look of our blog, or what?  Our Creative Genius Emily has been busy, making our blog a little more organized.  Take some time, and click around.  Hopefully you will find yourself right at home, because I have your seat waiting and a nice warm cup of hot cocoa waiting for you!  (Yes.  Can you believe it is snowing in Utah.  Ick!  Oh and stay tuned for a VERY exciting feature to our blog that should be popping up soon!)

I am SO excited about Today’s Steal, the Echo Park Halloween Collection.  That’s right.  ECHO PARK!  Can you believe that Miss Melodee worked her charm and brought to us the ever amazing and oh so sought after, Echo Park.  Yup.  She gets a high five, a star on her forehead and a 44 oz. Diet Mt. Dew for that one!

I know we have seen our fair share of Halloween goodness around the halls of ScrapbookSteals, but MMMMMMMMM….. I am totally in awe of today’s kit.  I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to scrapbook for this weeks Mojo, and was going to do a one pager.  However, these papers were screaming so much fun to me that my one pager turned into a 2 page, 6 – 4×6 photo layout.

I LOVE the patterns of the Echo Park Halloween Collection.  I admit, I’m deathly afraid of scrapping with nothing but patterned prints, yet the small prints on this collection didn’t seem to overwhelm my simple style.  Of course I am so in love with the dots, stars, webs, stripes, skulls and witchy boots that it was really hard to decide what to use.  I finally settled on a mix of 6 different sheets of paper.  (Did you catch that…*I* used SIX different sheets of patterned papers!)

The stickers that come with this kit are so much fun.  I think that Echo Park is BRILLIANT for combining small letter stickers and large letter stickers on the same sheet.  I mean how often are you looking for a small letter sticker to coordinate with a larger letter sticker.  No more need to search!  It’s all at your finger tips!

The other stickers in this collection are so much fun and the perfect addition to spice up a spooky layout.

Do you know what another absolutely FUN use would be for this kit is to create a ‘milk box’ haunted house.  I’ve never seen one of these done before, but while I was taking a stroll through our Facebook Fan Page one night I came across this DARLING Halloween House made by our talented friend Tara Gross.

Can you not imagine how cute one of these houses would be using the darling skull paper in the Echo Park kit?  Tara was kind enough to share more detailed images on her blog. Click here to see other amazing Halloween Craft decorating ideas from Tara.

Now for the exciting part of the MWM blog post.  Our winner from last week!

Brittany Perry was the lucky winner chosen by Random.Org.  It’s a good thing she remembered to comment!

I love how Brittany turned her MWM #14 into a 2 pager and made the wavy lines a sidewalk.  Seriously too cute!

Now don’t forget that this upcoming Friday is our on-line crop from 6 – 10 MST.   We will be having lots of fun, challenges and of course prizes.  In fact, MWM #15 is your first official challenge for the online crop.  Tomorrow I will post the additional 3 challenges so that you can get your scrappy caps on!

The rules for being eligible for the drawing remain the same.

* Layouts must be posted on our Facebook Fan Page, or personal blog by Monday, November 1st at Midnight.  (The midnight that comes at the end of the day.)

* You must return to THIS blog posting and leave a comment with a link to where your layout is posted.  I will be selecting a random winner from the comments posted on THIS blog post.

* Share, Share, Share!  If we hit 100 shares then we will have 2 random winners next week.  I know we tried hard last week, and sadly our share counter was having some problems, so this week is your chance to hit that 100!

Have fun scrapping!  Can’t wait to ‘see’ you all on Friday night during our video chat.  Well.  You can see us crazies in the warehouse.  Wish we could all be together!
