Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Dies | Monday Craft Madness #8

The Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Dies are so easy and fun to use. They’re perfect for cards, layouts and gifts. Even my daughter loves to create using them! Now that the holidays have been and gone, what is the next big event we Papercrafters create for? Valentines Day! Which means this week’s Monday Craft Madness theme is:

Valentines!

I chose to use the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Lace Hearts for my projects. They are so versatile. There are 5 dies from 1″-5.8″ -  you really can make whatever you want!

The first thing I always have to make is a Valentine’s Day card for my loved one! I went plain and simple with my card, using the 1″ die to cut out 15 white and 1 red heart. Arrange them in a grid formation, add a simple rub-on sentiment, and voilà! A card in under 30 minutes!

Next I thought about all the gifts given out at school. I started with the teacher gift. This phrase (‘Mrs Kreuger rules’) is something my daughter often writes to her teacher on her the back of her work when she has finished!

And lastly – it seems they all have to give each other gifts too (this is so different from the UK!). Here are the gifts for the girls in her class (the boys gifts will appear on here sometime in the future!) – mini loveheart treat bags. The die cut hearts make the perfect labels!

I hope I have inspired you to start work on your Valentines projects this week. Just remember to have fun! :)

Take it away, Liz!

Looking for some comfy, cozy and inexpensive gift ideas?  Today ScrapbooksSteals.com is selling these adorable canisters.  The canisters are made of plastic and metal and are large enough to fit many different gift ideas.  I thought I would make one canister into a family meal gift basket and include a mason jar of homemade spaghetti sauce along with the canister full of pasta.  I also thought it would be fun to make a hot cocoa gift basket and send the marshmallow in this protective canister that will keep them fresh and safe.
The top of the canisters were easy to decorate.  I cut the patterned paper for the lids from the Simple Stories Handmade Holiday collection with my circle cutter and then added the matching cardstock stickers.  The cardstock stickers REALLY stick to the plastic on the canisters, so make sure you know exactly where you want them before you stick them in place.
What are some other fun elements you could add to the canisters for thoughtful gifts?  The sky is the limit, and these canisters are plenty big to hold many gift items.
Have a wonderful and crafty weekend.

Liz, I love your ideas! I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t love a giant container of marshmallows, especially if it’s part of a hot cocoa basket. ;) It’s perfect for those cold winter days and your adorably decorated canister is still useful after the marshmallows are gone.

Thanks for stopping by everyone and be sure to tune in again on Wednesday for a new Mid Week Mojo and the Coral #7 winner announcement!
