Echo Park

Echo Park This and That | Mid Week Mojo

Amethyst – Layout 2

Over the years I’ve tried to eliminate my need to be a scrapbook supply hoarder, but today’s steal, the Echo Park This & That Collections, which are a brand new Winter CHA releases, are definitely going to find their way into my pile. :)

You can bet I wasn’t shedding any tears over the fact that I had to create the Amethyst #2 Mid Week Mojo using This and That. The hardest part was trying to decide what photos exactly I should let grace the opportunity of being paired with the glorious papers! I pretty much knew I wanted to create a page with the Charming collection so I plotted a date with my boy.

I know it probably sounds like I say the same things over and over when there is a collection that I love, but I truly could just gush about the This and That collections. I love the fact that the embellishments compliment so perfectly the papers and the letter stickers make creating a title a snap. Oh and how perfect that the Charming collection even comes with numbered brads that I could add to my page to tie in with the journaling of .45 cent wing day on Tuesdays. :)

Now it’s that exceptionally exciting time to announce the lucky winners of our latest online crop! I have been absolutely astounded with all of the crafty magic that has been gracing our Facebook fan page. I truly wish that I had had the time to comment on each and every individual layout, but wow, there were a lot! So exciting to think of all of the pages that are filling up the albums in so many different homes.

And now without further adieu here are the lucky random winners for our challenges 1-4 and our chat issued scavenger hunt.

Charity Becker is the ever-so-talented winner of our Amethyst #1 sketch which also paired as challenge #1 for the online crop. Her pages are always a treat to see and her talents for vintage/shabby are top notch!

The winner of the crop challenge #2, “Keeping it Real”, is Melissa Dehne. I love the peek into Melissa’s life seeing how many books grace the shelves and counters in her home!

Becky Back is the lucky winner of Challenge #3, which was to “Scrap that Stash.” Don’t you agree that she has a wonderful crafting area?

For our final challenge, “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue,” Jen McDermott created this positively darling card.

And for those of you that were able to join in on the fun of our online chat and were given the details for the scavenger hunt, you can help me congratulate Jessica Arrant, as the lucky winner! Look! She even shared her brownie with me. :)

Girls if you will each take a moment and send an email to, letting them know that you are a winner of the on-line crop challenges, we will be happy to get a prize sent out to you.

Good luck creating this week girls. Also be sure to check in tomorrow as we have an amazing guest blogger in the lineup.

Echo Park Splash | Mid Week Mojo

Opal Club — Layout 7

Well I thought I’d make a splash with this week’s sketch, since today’s steal is Splash by Echo Park. For those of you that have been asking for another multi-photo sketch, I’m pretty sure that this one delivers!

I’d heard some of my crafty friends talking about creating a layout for 11-11-11, which used eleven photos taken throughout the day. I thought it would be fun to use that idea for this week’s Mid Week Mojo and had a great time snapping photos throughout the day, documenting parts of our normal routine.

Even though this kit is geared toward water and summer, I think it worked out perfectly to go with a wide variety of colors in my photos. Gotta love me a paper collection that is so versatile!

I used one of the sheets and cut it apart to create the wavy border across the base of my layout on both sides.

And I love the little letter stickers. Perfect for creating my subtitle.

Now I realize that this sketch is possibly a little daunting and might make some of you want to pass, so to up the ante for this week we will be doing two drawings next week to up the chances of winning for those that take the plunge! Also, remember if you don’t have photos that will work for this sketch, to be creative and combine some of the photo spaces and use 4×6 prints in their place. Just remember to have fun!

I’m so excited to announce our random winner for this week.  Congrats are in order for Nichol Tran!

Nichol, if you would please send an email with your address to, we will be happy to send a prize out to you.

If you would like a chance to win this week’s random drawing, you will need to have your sketch posted and linked to this blog posting by 11:59PM MST on Monday, November 21st. Echo Park Little Boy | Mid Week Mojo

Opal Club — Layout 4

Whether you have an adventurous little boy or a darling little girl in your life, you will be completely smitten with today’s steal, Little Boy or Little Girl by Echo Park. I have to say that I was smitten when I saw the photos of the new addition to one of our ScrapbookSteals fans, family. I asked Peggy Spencer if she’d mind if I used photos of her sweet new baby to create a layout for her for this week’s Mid Week Mojo.

I love how the Little Boy collection not only works for boys of all ages, but for babies straight from heaven!

Peggy was funny. When I asked her if she would send journaling for the layout she replied that journaling was not her strong point and gave me a few brief sentences with the statistics of little Jeremiah. Then she proceeded to tell me a little about how things were going and how happy she was to be given a second chance at being a mommy. The words written directly to me were so heartfelt and touched me deeply. I took her words and changed it into journaling written to her son, because if Peggy could tell those things to me, a friend via internet, then those words most definitely hold true to her son. Peggy, don’t underestimate your journaling abilities girl. You have it from the heart!

The stickers in today’s collection made for a snappy title and a little extra embellishment to the page.

Thank you so much Peggy for allowing me to share your sweet lil’ man with everyone for this week’s Mid Week Mojo.

It’s kind of exciting. was definitely shining on some beginners luck this week! Congrats are in order for Deb Routledge, our lucky winner of this week’s Mid Week Mojo. I was fortunate to get to meet Deb at the recent ScrapbookSteals retreat where we got her hooked on creating Mid Week Mojo! (Or at least I hope she’s hooked!) 😉

Deb if you would be so kind as to send an email with your address to, letting them know that you are this week’s winner we will be happy to get a prize sent out to you!

Don’t forget that this sketch will need to be posted and linked to this blog posting by 11:59PM MST on Monday, October 31st. I hope you all have a lovely day. <3

It Feels Like Christmas Around Here. (Mid Week Mojo #31)

Taking a peek at our Facebook fan page over the past week has felt much like Christmas—so many exciting layouts to see! In fact it’s felt so much like Christmas that we decided to treat you with the Echo Park Christmas collections for today’s steal.

I had so much fun working with the Echo Park Merry Christmas collection.  I wanted to challenge myself to create a layout using the Christmas papers that wasn’t Christmas-related.  Here is the sketch that I came up with.

As soon as I saw the sheet music paper I immediately knew that I wanted to create a layout about my girls and their talents with their instruments.

I love how versatile both of the Echo Park collections are—perfect not only for creating Christmas projects and layouts, but everyday creations as well.

I have to hand it to the designers at Echo Park and their brilliant letter sticker assortments. I love having not only the large letter stickers but the mini letter stickers all coordinating and on the same sheet.

Now, I know you’ve probably all skipped forward to see who the winner of our Ruby club giveaway is, but lets take care of our regular weekly winner first. :)

Congrats to…

Mid Week Mojo #15 with a shiny new look! (Also Online Crop Challenge #1)

Mid Week Mojo #15 with a shiny new look! (Also Online Crop Challenge #1)

Wow.  Do you like the new look of our blog, or what?  Our Creative Genius Emily has been busy, making our blog a little more organized.  Take some time, and click around.  Hopefully you will find yourself right at home, because I have your seat waiting and a nice warm cup of hot cocoa waiting for you!  (Yes.  Can you believe it is snowing in Utah.  Ick!  Oh and stay tuned for a VERY exciting feature to our blog that should be popping up soon!)

I am SO excited about Today’s Steal, the Echo Park Halloween Collection.  That’s right.  ECHO PARK!  Can you believe that Miss Melodee worked her charm and brought to us the ever amazing and oh so sought after, Echo Park.  Yup.  She gets a high five, a star on her forehead and a 44 oz. Diet Mt. Dew for that one!

I know we have seen our fair share of Halloween goodness around the halls of ScrapbookSteals, but MMMMMMMMM….. I am totally in awe of today’s kit.  I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to scrapbook for this weeks Mojo, and was going to do a one pager.  However, these papers were screaming so much fun to me that my one pager turned into a 2 page, 6 – 4×6 photo layout.

I LOVE the patterns of the Echo Park Halloween Collection.  I admit, I’m deathly afraid of scrapping with nothing but patterned prints, yet the small prints on this collection didn’t seem to overwhelm my simple style.  Of course I am so in love with the dots, stars, webs, stripes, skulls and witchy boots that it was really hard to decide what to use.  I finally settled on a mix of 6 different sheets of paper.  (Did you catch that…*I* used SIX different sheets of patterned papers!)

The stickers that come with this kit are so much fun.  I think that Echo Park is BRILLIANT for combining small letter stickers and large letter stickers on the same sheet.  I mean how often are you looking for a small letter sticker to coordinate with a larger letter sticker.  No more need to search!  It’s all at your finger tips!

The other stickers in this collection are so much fun and the perfect addition to spice up a spooky layout.

Do you know what another absolutely FUN use would be for this kit is to create a ‘milk box’ haunted house.  I’ve never seen one of these done before, but while I was taking a stroll through our Facebook Fan Page one night I came across this DARLING Halloween House made by our talented friend Tara Gross.

Can you not imagine how cute one of these houses would be using the darling skull paper in the Echo Park kit?  Tara was kind enough to share more detailed images on her blog. Click here to see other amazing Halloween Craft decorating ideas from Tara.

Now for the exciting part of the MWM blog post.  Our winner from last week!

Brittany Perry was the lucky winner chosen by Random.Org.  It’s a good thing she remembered to comment!

I love how Brittany turned her MWM #14 into a 2 pager and made the wavy lines a sidewalk.  Seriously too cute!

Now don’t forget that this upcoming Friday is our on-line crop from 6 – 10 MST.   We will be having lots of fun, challenges and of course prizes.  In fact, MWM #15 is your first official challenge for the online crop.  Tomorrow I will post the additional 3 challenges so that you can get your scrappy caps on!

The rules for being eligible for the drawing remain the same.

* Layouts must be posted on our Facebook Fan Page, or personal blog by Monday, November 1st at Midnight.  (The midnight that comes at the end of the day.)

* You must return to THIS blog posting and leave a comment with a link to where your layout is posted.  I will be selecting a random winner from the comments posted on THIS blog post.

* Share, Share, Share!  If we hit 100 shares then we will have 2 random winners next week.  I know we tried hard last week, and sadly our share counter was having some problems, so this week is your chance to hit that 100!

Have fun scrapping!  Can’t wait to ‘see’ you all on Friday night during our video chat.  Well.  You can see us crazies in the warehouse.  Wish we could all be together!
