Cosmo Cricket Mega Packs | Monday Card Madness #45

If today’s steal, the Cosmo Cricket Mega Packs aren’t the perfect smorgasbord of papers to play with, I don’t know what is! The folks at Cosmo Cricket certainly know how to create a print and design to tickle the taste of every scrapper, and the best part of today’s steals … you get a little sampling of so many different collections without committing to the entire line!

I had a great time creating cards for this week with the Cosmo Cricket papers. My design tended to evolve from one card to the next, but this is the general idea for this weeks sketch. (Feel free to choose from the variety of cards to base your design off of. 😉 )

I started with the boyish collections and created these two cards.

Next I made a few cards with the girl-ish collections.

Now if you have missed out on our challenge this year to send out joy, you should jump in on the fun! Don’t let those beautiful cards you create sit around collecting dust. Throw a stamp on an envelope and send it to someone to brighten their day. I know it’s been so much fun for me being able to surprise some of our ScrapbookSteals fans with a little happy mail.

Also don’t forget to keep posting your Monday Card Madness creations to our Facebook fan page or your own personal blog.  Leave a link here on our blog for the August cards by Friday September 2nd at 11:59pm MST in order to be eligible for our monthly drawing.

One more thing, if you get so busy scrapping up a card storm and don’t know what to do with all of those extras, (after sending out joy of course 😉 ), then you should participate in our current ScrapbookSteals card swap. If you’ve missed the details, here they are:

  • Create 10 cards. They can all be the same or each can be different.
  • All cards must include an envelope.
  • Cards must be received to the ScrapbookSteals warehouse by August 31st. (ScrapbookSteals, Attn: Card Swap, 2181 California, #400, SLC, UT  84104)
  • Once your cards have been sent in the mail, please send me an email to, to let me know that I need to be on the lookout for your amazing creations. I will then randomly re-distribute the cards and mail back 10 different cards to each participant.

I hope you all have a fantastic day! Be sure to check in tomorrow for our next amazing How To’sday tutorial!

How About a Sneak Peek? Ready, Set…Chipboard!

How About a Sneak Peek? Ready, Set…Chipboard!

Every once in awhile there’s a weekend steal that is just begging to be shown on the blog (I have way too many ideas for weekdays only).  Since we don’t have weekend blog features, I asked Melodee if we could have a sneak peek afternoon posting of the goodness that will be coming your way tomorrow, the Cosmo Cricket Ready Set Chipboard Kit.

One of the things that I love about tomorrow’s steal is the wide variety of projects that can be created with one kit.

I figured I would do my best to entice Mother Nature to deliver warmer weather by creating a cute shadow box decoration and a card using the “Togetherness” chipboard collection.  Nothing says spring like bunnies, pinwheels and birds.

I am always looking for inexpensive items to alter and make cute.  A trip to the dollar store for a photo frame, some patterned paper and a little paint yielded this cute decoration for my girls’ room using the “Pixielicious” chipboard set.

Look at how perfectly the butterfly flourish worked to complete this card.

Now I’ll be the first to admit that I’m pretty tired of winter, but look how darling these wintery projects turned out with pieces from the “Mitten Weather” collection.

You’ll also get a set of “Lavender Bling” letters as part of tomorrow’s steal. Can’t beat that and can’t beat the price either! You will just have to check in tomorrow at 9AM to see about that. 😉

Have a great weekend!

Send Joy Cosmo Cricket Style – MCM #17

Send Joy Cosmo Cricket Style – MCM #17

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope your weekend was well and filled with craftiness!  I have been absolutely blown away by our Facebook Fan page and all of the wonderful creations that you all are sharing!  In fact, I sat down on Saturday night to take a little stroll through the gallery of photos and couldn’t help but want to create myself.  I was delighted to find out that I’d be working with Today’s Steal, the Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck Creative Kits.

I LOVE these collections by Cosmo Cricket.   I don’t know if it’s the fact that the 6×6 pads are all mini print or if it’s the great colors or fun chipboard, but I do know that they are brilliantly fun to work with….especially for creating cards.

Generally I will make a card…or two, but I was having so much fun making cards with the Cosmo Cricket collections that I had to make two for EACH collection!

I wandered through my Silhouette card designs and settled on a basic sketch for this weeks MCM, with a pocket on the front and a pull out tag, which should be easy to duplicate even without a die cutting machine.

I love how versatile a card like this can be.  In fact this type of card you could leave blank or you could add a sentiment to the pocket or tag as the need arises.

If there is any one of these Cosmo Cricket collections that screams spring to me it’s the DeLovely papers.  It gives me hope that the world *will* warm up!

The chipboard that comes with the DeLovely collection are beyond cute.  Look at what a fun and simple card I made using some of the chipboard pieces.

The Material Girl Mini Deck and Chipboard pieces were equally delightful to create with.  The mix of patterns and prints are truly inspiring!

The last collection offered today is the ‘Wanted’ Mini Deck and Chipboard pieces.  I didn’t do a card using the sketch for this week as I didn’t see that it really fit the papers and theme of this kit.  Good news is that these papers, just like the other collections made for some incredibly simple and fun cards!

My little guys were never into the whole ‘Cowboy’ theme, but using these papers sure makes me wish that they had been!  At least I will be able to send along these cards to some little Cowboy to brighten his day!

So how has the challenge of sending out cards gone for you!  Leave a comment to let us know how it’s going!  Just think of the joy that you can bring to someones day!

Also, don’t forget to post your creations to our Facebook Fan Page!  It’s got to be one of the best sources of creative inspiration on the Facebook planet….all thanks to YOU!  Post a link to your project here and you will be eligible for our monthly drawing.

Oh and make sure you check in tomorrow for our How To’sDay, brought to you by Julie Koets!

As for today!  Enjoy your Monday and scrap happy!
