How About a Sneak Peek? Ready, Set…Chipboard!

How About a Sneak Peek? Ready, Set…Chipboard!

Every once in awhile there’s a weekend steal that is just begging to be shown on the blog (I have way too many ideas for weekdays only).  Since we don’t have weekend blog features, I asked Melodee if we could have a sneak peek afternoon posting of the goodness that will be coming your way tomorrow, the Cosmo Cricket Ready Set Chipboard Kit.

One of the things that I love about tomorrow’s steal is the wide variety of projects that can be created with one kit.

I figured I would do my best to entice Mother Nature to deliver warmer weather by creating a cute shadow box decoration and a card using the “Togetherness” chipboard collection.  Nothing says spring like bunnies, pinwheels and birds.

I am always looking for inexpensive items to alter and make cute.  A trip to the dollar store for a photo frame, some patterned paper and a little paint yielded this cute decoration for my girls’ room using the “Pixielicious” chipboard set.

Look at how perfectly the butterfly flourish worked to complete this card.

Now I’ll be the first to admit that I’m pretty tired of winter, but look how darling these wintery projects turned out with pieces from the “Mitten Weather” collection.

You’ll also get a set of “Lavender Bling” letters as part of tomorrow’s steal. Can’t beat that and can’t beat the price either! You will just have to check in tomorrow at 9AM to see about that. 😉

Have a great weekend!

Let out a Dino Roar! It’s Monday Card Madness. (Week #22)

Can you believe that it’s Monday again? I have to admit that Monday’s have been a little less painful for me since the beginning of Monday Card Madness. Today is even a little more exciting as today’s steal, the Dino Roar Collection by Imaginisce, is almost too fantastic for words.

Today’s sketch is a simple one.  I really wanted to create a design which would let the patterns of this amazing collection take the stage.

The first two cards that I made are “little boy” through and through.

I have to hand it to Imaginisce as the sign of a great collection is being versatile enough to also be able to create a “girly” card.  I flipped the sketch and made this one to send out to someone to spread a little joy.

Please keep sharing your Monday Card Madness creations on our Facebook fan page or your personal blog. Leave a comment here with a link to your creation and you will be eligible for our monthly drawing of a little scrappy prize.  You have a few more days to create any of this month’s sketches to be eligible for our February drawing.  The cutoff will be Friday, March 4th at midnight MST.

Also remember the challenge to send what you create out to others to brighten someones day!  Lives can be touched as our wonderful friend Sheryl Kloke experienced this past week when she received “24 little pieces of happiness” from some of her ScrapbookSteals sisters.

Be sure to check in tomorrow afternoon for a great how to from Becci Maines.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Who’s ready to ditch winter? I know I am! (MCM #16)

Who’s ready to ditch winter? I know I am! (MCM #16)

January.  I’ll be honest.  It fills me with the blahs.  The holidays are over, the world is covered in snow, I can’t run outside because I’m a whimp the air quality is so yucky, and spring seems SO far away!  That’s exactly why I LOVE escaping the winter blahs with paper crafting, and what’s even better is adding a little ‘spring’ to my creating.  That’s why I decided for this week’s Monday Card Madness that I wouldn’t do a sketch, but rather create a challenge to use flowers.  Today’s steal, The Prima Marketing Flower Power and Awesome Blossoms kit’s are perfect for adding a little spring into the dreary winter months!

Here are 3 cards that I created using various flowers from the Prima collections.

The first I made, I used the ‘cork board’ flowers.  I love how they are earthy, slightly less feminine yet add such character to a project!

I next made a card that is packed with spring!

And lastly, I made a card showing that you can still make a masculine card and add flowers.  :)

So how did last weeks challenge of sending out joy go for you?  I have to admit, I immediately sat down and wrote out my cards, addressed them and took them out to the car to hit the post office, but I still haven’t made it *in* to the post office yet.  :)  No worries….I now have 3 more to add to the list to send out and that will give me even more reason to make it happen!

Hopefully some of you were able to send out your cards and touch the lives of someone else.

Remember we will hold a drawing at the beginning of February for anyone that has taken part in the MCM challenge!  Be sure to show us what you’ve created by either posting your projects to our Facebook Fan Page or your personal blog, with a link here on the Monday Card Madness blog for your chance to be eligible for the drawing.

Also, we’ve had a great response for the first ever Scrapbook Steals card swap.  If you missed out on the info and would like to participate, please send me an email to

One more thing!  Be sure to tune in tomorrow for the 1st new addition to our weekly blog line up.  :)

Have a great day!
