MME 6×6 Holiday paper pads | Monday Craft Madness #4

The My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Holiday paper pads are SO adorable my obsession for 6×6 paper pads just grows! There are a great mix of pads to ‘steal,’ from bright, fun colors and patterns to the more traditional MME papers everyone loves. This week’s Monday Craft Madness theme is:

Use at least two different paper collections!

I chose to use My Mind’s Eye ’12 days of Christmas’ and My Mind’s Eye ‘Tis the Season’ paper pads. The colors go together so well you really can mix and match! I’ll show you how…

First, I found this adorable paper Christmas tree on Pinterest, and I knew it would be perfect to use with the 6×6 paper pads. All you need is a polystyrene cone (mine is 9 inches in height), paper pads, and pins. I cut 3/4″ strips of the papers from both pads, put the ends together, and pinned them into place! I cheated a little with the star on the top and used two gift bows stuck together! Super quick and easy to do!

I also wanted to try out some mini cracker treat boxes. They’re perfect for my children to give to their friends at Christmas. I love the 6×6 papers with smaller designs and they worked so well for this project. I just cut out the shape using my cutting machine, embellished with the different papers, and was done!

Lastly, I made a card. I used papers from both pads which coordinated so perfectly. A touch of stitching, twine, brads, a sentiment stamp, and pop dots to give it more dimension – and another simple card was done!

Today’s steal is just going to feed my obsession with 6×6 paper pads. I will definitely be picking up a few more! I hope I have inspired you to join in this week’s Monday Craft Madness challenge to use at least 2 different paper collections! (Please add the names of the collections you used when you link up in the comments below.)

Carta Bella Alphabet Junction

I love what Fall Design Team member Liz Qualman has done with today’s steal, the Carta Bella Alphabet Junction collection. This collection is bright and colorful, and comes with so many papers, chipboard embellishments, and brads. She definitely rocked it!

Looking for some adorable children’s scrapbook collections at an unbeatable price?  You need to check out the Carta Bella Alphabet Junction collection at today!  It has the most wonderful textured cardstock and patterns that are perfect for the little guys and girls in your life.  I made this fun, bright page about my little guy.

There are super cute sentiments and fun patterns to document your memories like this preschool photo of my son.  I really liked how there were plenty of places to hand write my journaling and how the texture of both the paper and the chipboard helped me avoid smudging.   The miniature stitching on this sticker is a wonderful detail.

I especially love how coordinated the cardstock stickers, chipboard pieces and patterned paper are in this collection and how they work together in clusters.  I used the alphabet stickers to make the title and then continued the sentiment with the cardstock sticker phrases.

It’s fun to use banners as a design element and make each of the embellishments part of the effect.  I cut banners out of some of the cardstock paper and then I snipped the ends of the cardstock sticker phrases to complete the banner look.

I thought it would be fun to use the Alphabet Junction patterned paper and stickers to create a more mature card.  This Delightful Stripe patterned paper used on the flip side with the XO pattern made a great focal point for the design of this romantic card.

The cardstock stickers are from the Carta Bella collection, but the clear stickers are from Little Yellow Bicycle.  I used two of my Martha Stewart punches to make the border and leaves.

This card took very little time and is focused around one of the alpha cards.  I added the chipboard title and the cardstock banner sticker to pull it together for a fun everyday card.

Love how the chipboard pops off the card and the light pink is such a fun color and contrast to the darker pinks in the papers.

My Mind’s Eye Winter Wonderland & All Is Bright | Mid Week Mojo

Jade – Week 1 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo? Get started here!

Today’s steal, the My Mind’s Eye Winter Wonderland & All is Bright, is one of my all time favorite Christmas collections! The kits are jam-packed with fun papers, embellishments, stamps and so much more – there is everything you could possibly need!

I  love how today’s guest designer, Jessica Arrant, shows us how to use this collection and gives you not one, but TWO sketches to use as well!

Words can’t explain how excited I was to be asked to play here today. I danced around the house for a week. And when I found out it was My Mind’s Eye All Is Bright? I died and went to heaven. Seriously a new favorite line from one of my favorite manufacturers!

My first thought was to highlight some of the awesome Christmas graphics by fussy cutting them out of the various papers and layering them onto the same page. I also wanted to show off the subtle prints in this kit by mixing as many of them as I could. Gotta love the chevrons and polka dots. Here is the sketch I created:

And here is my layout:

I know many of you like to design two pages at the same time, so if you head over to my blog you’ll see how I had a little bit of fun with the facing page.

Here is my second sketch:

I love the use of blue in this collection! As prevalent as the Christmas theme is, it is also an incredibly versatile kit with more than enough papers to make a couple non-holiday pages with leftovers. I took this picture on Halloween! How’s that for non-traditional colors?

And how about a card, just for fun?!

I hope you all enjoy the sketches and I can’t wait to see all the awesome interpretations. You are all so inspiring!

American Crafts Soho Garden

I love what Fall Design Team member Amy Coose has done with today’s steal, the American Crafts Soho Garden collection. It is such a bright and colorful collection, with so many adorable embellishments. She definitely ROCKED it! Get ready to be inspired…

I was excited to get the American Crafts Soho Garden line to create with for November.  As soon as it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that it was even better in person.  I used it to create a card and two layouts.
This is the card that I created.  The Bits Layered Tags made creating this card super simple.  I just added some Cardstock Stickers and Layered Embellishments, and it was finished.
I love the amazing patterns in this line.  The yellow made a perfect base for this picture of my baby boy.  The “you are my sunshine” layered chipboard sticker, the layered tag, and some ribbon were all I needed to complete this layout.
I wrote out my journaling on the journaling box that is included on the Cardstock Stickers sheet.
I used another piece of the Soho Garden cardstock as a base for this layout.  I loved that I could write my journaling right on the lines.
I used my cameo to cut out some stars and the title, and accented it with some of the Cardstock Stickers, Layered Chipboard Stickers, and the Fabric Stickers.  How cool is it that you get all those textures in one line??
I really enjoyed using this collection, and the fun patterns, colors, and textures that are included made it the perfect collection for almost any craft project!

My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found 3 Collection | Mid Week Mojo

Whether you want to preserve memories of the holidays, birthdays, or special occasions, this collection gives you some stunning ideas! I especially love how today’s guest designer, Brittany Allred, shows us how to use this collection for a stunning layout and a card too!

My Mind’s Eye captured my scrapbooking heart with the My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found 3 collection. Here is my sketch:

I especially love the colors in the Oliver line and I couldn’t wait to put them to use to scrap my sister-in-law’s beautiful kids. I usually scrap 9×9 albums so I enjoy using wallet sized photos and I decided to use them on this week’s sketch. Some of my other favorite scrappy things are glitter and embossing. This kit has paper and embellishments with both!

All of the paper in this kit is fabulous and I wanted to use as many patterns as I could, so I backed the main photo in little strips of various patterns. This is also a great way to use up any scraps you might have in your stash. I first adhered the strips to a scrap piece of paper to get them all lined up before I added my photo. This allowed me to place the entire element on my page at once without worrying about placement of each strip.

There were so many details in the Lost & Found kit I wanted to use and I just went for it. The huge ampersand was a must, along with the doily stickers and chipboard. I wanted to show off the pretty double sided paper, so I used the tearing  and distressing technique. It helped add a little texture to the page too. The glittery pennants were perfect little accents as well. Glitter!!

I hope you love the finished page, I can’t wait to see what you come with!
Then I figured I better do some cleaning while my daughter was napping…but I made a simple card instead!
