Bo Bunny Double Dot Brads

Brads have got to rank right up there for me in the go-tos of scrappy embellishments, but when you take a basic embellishment and fancy it up like today’s steal, the Bo Bunny Double Dot Brads, it turns from a go-to to a must have. The combination of colors and added designs will not only make my crafty projects shine but will sure dress up the limb joints of my kiddo’s paper people!

If you’re looking for more to do with your brads than paper people mobility, then today’s guest blogger, my long time friend and Bo Bunny Designer, Debbie Sherman can help you out! Grab a drink, and take a moment to relax and enjoy her creations.

Good morning ScrapbookSteals Fans. I’m so excited to be here today as a guest of ScrapbookSteals!  I was even more excited when Kristy told me I’d be designing with Bo Bunny’s Double Dot brads. Now if you don’t know me, I am Bo Bunny’s biggest fan.  No really!  I have almost everything they have ever produced and the evidence in my scraproom.

Today I’m sharing a couple of projects with you that I had so much fun creating.  My first project is a layout of a wedding I went to last summer.  I took 500 photos and the bride and groom are dear friends of mine.

To create this layout I used a die cut sheet that had little flowers as a pattern.  I layered the die cut over the top of a sheet of white cardstock adhered both to a sheet of Enchanted Rose patterned paper and in the center of the flowers I adhered a Double Dot brad.  I matted my photo and embellished the remainder of the layout with yellow embellishments to coordinate with the yellow Double Dot Brads.

My next project continues with the wedding theme in form of a card.

To make this card I adhered my base layers and then stamped my sentiment on Enchanted Noteworthy. I then drew a heart shape around the sentiment and alternated Double Dot brads and jewels on the penciled heart. I finished up by embellishing with pink flowers and a flourish to match the pink Double Dot Brads.

Be sure to stop by my blog for more details on these projects or just to say hi.

Thank You ScrapbookSteals for having me as a guest!

Bo Bunny Crush | Monday Card Madness #69

Love is in the air and what better way to craft those lovey moments than with today’s steal, the Bo Bunny Crush collection!? I mean what’s not to love about pink, black, white and red? Oh and the little blossoms and birds — well, it just doesn’t get cuter than that! Except it does. Add the trims and brads and all of the other fantastic embellishments and your Valentine’s day crafts and love projects are bound to be perfect.

Even though Valentine’s Day is still a few weeks out, today’s steal came in perfect timing for me. I spent the weekend in California teaching a class at the Craft and Hobby Association show (CHA) and thought it would be nice to leave little love notes — one for my kids, one for my husband who happened to have a trip to Texas overlapping with mine and one for my dear mother in law who volunteered to help wrangle the kids this past weekend in our absence. Who says it needs to be Valentines day to tell someone you love that you love them? :)

So sadly these cards will not be a part of the current card exchange, but I promise that I will be contributing some fun ones!

If you’ve missed out on the info for the current card exchange, here are the details:

Here are the details just in case you missed them.

Bo Bunny Winter Joy

Can you believe that the holidays are creeping up upon us? Today’s steal, the Bo Bunny Winter Joy Collection is positively amazing. It’s such a beautiful collection in purples, blues and greens.

These papers would be great for a myriad of holiday-themed layouts and projects, but I thought I would show you how to make a quick and easy dimensional snowflake which you could make to put a homemade touch to Christmas tree decorations.

My girls have made these snowflakes for years and have had them hanging all over their room.  I’ve never learned to make them so I sat my Sarah down for a little crafty time to teach me!

Here are the basic directions.

  • Cut paper into squares. For our snowflake we used 6×6″ pieces of paper. Fold the paper in half one way, and then again in the opposite direction. Fold in half and then in half again so that you have a triangle like this.
  • With the point of the triangle pointed upward, cut strips across the width of the triangle starting from the side of the paper which is folded. Do not cut all of the way through to the other side.

  • Open your folded paper and it should look like this.

  • Beginning with the inner most cuts, fold together and staple or secure with a glue dot. Flip the paper over and do the same with the next two cuts. Flip the paper again and repeat the process until you reach the outermost cut.

  • Your completed square of paper should look like this.

  • Repeat this process five times for one snowflake. You can use the same papers or different papers for variety.

  • Once all of your snowflake arms have been completed, staple two of them together at the tip.

  • Next staple the remaining four arms to the middle of the neighboring snowflake arm.

  • Once your chain of snowflake arms have been stapled together, begin stapling the bases of the tips together one by one.

  • Your completed snowflake should look like this.

We added a scalloped circle to the middle of the snowflake with a piece of chipboard embellishment to finish it off.

These snowflakes can be made in any size and would truly make the cutest decoration for a tree.

Have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday!

Bo Bunny Sun Kissed | Mid Week Mojo

Topaz Club – Layout 2

What a spectacular start to our Topaz Club series and what a treat it was to see all of your beautiful creations from you seasoned Mid Week Mojo-ers as well as some new friends. I think that you’ll agree with me that today’s steal, the Bo Bunny Sun Kissed collection is the perfect drive to get you wanting to scrap our second sketch in the Topaz Club series as well as those summer photos that you’ve been snapping over the past few months.

I was having that itch to scrap a layout for one of you again so I asked Jessica Laureano if she would let me scrap some fun water pics of her handsome little fellah. I have to say that I couldn’t have handpicked a better collection to showcase the fun of this happy summer day. I love the brightness and combination of colors, the movement and embellishments are top notch.

I had so much fun working on summer photos that I couldn’t resist doing one more just for fun, for my sweet friend Misty.

I hope these girls like their layouts. Thank you to both of you for allowing me to scrap some of your family memories.

And now it’s time for our lucky random winner of the first layout in our Topaz series. Erin Schultz, you are our lucky winner!

Erin, if you’ll send your address to, we will be happy to send a little scrappy goodness your way.

Bo Bunny Block Party | Mid Week Mojo #51

Bo Bunny Block Party | Mid Week Mojo #51

It’s mojo time again and today’s steal, the Bo Bunny Block Party is the perfect collection to use for your summer memories.

The other day I was looking around Facebook and was thrilled to learn that one of our dear fans, April Fraley, recently became engaged to her sweetheart. When I saw the photos I begged her if I could scrap them today since the colors in today’s steal were such a perfect match for her photos. I’m so delighted that she said yes to letting me help her preserve such an important event in her life.

I couldn’t decide which photos to scrap so I created a layout that held them all!

I asked her what she thought would be a good idea for a title and she said she’d thought of calling it “A Scrappy Proposal”, since her thoughtful fiancee actually made her a scrapbook page to ask for her hand in marriage. **sigh** So romantic! I thought the idea for the title was perfection and so the layout was born!

I love how versatile today’s steal is and I love the variety of embellishments that come with the kit. Not only is this collection amazing for your summer block parties, 4th of July, Canada Day, but engagement photos too!

Thank you so much April for letting me scrapbook this page for you. I hope you like!
