Authentique Journey | Monday Card Madness #74

Do you ever feel like you are aching to take a journey? Maybe a little trip to somewhere you’ve never been or even just a quick escape to the mall? Well today’s steal, Authentique Journey, might be just what you are looking for to take a journey in your card making, paper crafting or scrapbooking!

Today we are so excited to, once again, be featuring the talented designers of the Authentique Design Team. This time, however, there is a little twist that I gave them and actually invited them to participate in Monday Card Madness by using a card sketch that I provided for them.

I love how Natalie Dever interpreted the sketch by adding the ticket embellishment. Such a great interpretation of the sketch. :)

Authentique Journey

Misty Buck always pleases with everything she touches!

I love how Cristine Redmond distressed the edges of the papers and added the twine. I must say the quality of Authentique paper is perfect for adding the little bit of distressing.

Authentique Journey

Jeannie DeGruccio absolutely blew me away with her interpretation of the sketch. I love the stitched paper and the flower is perfection!

Authentique Journey

Now we can’t forget the amazing Emily Lanham that recently treated us to such incredible projects using the We R Memory Keepers Hardware. I think you’ll agree that her interpretation of the sketch is equally as amazing.

Lastly we are treated to another fantastic interpretation of the sketch by Heather Conklin. Once again the paper choices and layering is true perfection!

Authentique Journey

Thanks so much to the A-Team for playing along with today’s Monday Card Madness. Be sure to check out each of the designers own personal blogs by clicking on each of their names. Oodles of ideas and inspiration at your fingertips!

For those of you that are wondering what to do with your amazing cards, now that we are currently in between card swaps here at ScrapbookSteals, one of our fans, Lori Burton, brought to my attention an amazing opportunity that we card crafters can participate in. Many have heard the tragic news of a school shooting at Chardon High School in Chardon, Ohio. The students are not asking for anything other than cards. They would love a card  from anyone that would like to help participate in wallpapering the walls of their schools to help memorialize their friends and loved ones.

If you would like to create a card to help in their wish it can be sent to:

Chardon High School
151 Chardon Ave.
Chardon, OH  44024

Have a great day and be sure to check in tomorrow when we take a break from our How To’sday’s with an amazing treat from guest blogger Shaunte Wadley. Seriously. It will blow you away.

Crafting and Card Authentique Uncommon

I think you’ll most likely agree with me that there is absolutely nothing common about today’s steal, the Uncommon collection by Authentique. Not only are these papers deliciously textured, a perfect weight but the combination of patterns and colors are definitely the motivator behind the name―uncommon. A refreshing and unique twist on the ordinary. What a treat we have in store today as the Authentique design team shows us just how to put the beautiful Uncommon collection to use in some common as well as very uncommon ways. One of my favorites? A mini album made out of toilet paper rolls by Emily Lanham.

First off we are treated by some stunning creations from our very own friend and fan, Misty Buck.

Heather Conklin shows an example of an astonishingly cute Valentine’s Day favor or party favor combo.

Next up we have a couple of exquisite projects by Cristine Redmond.

And lastly we have that little gem of an Uncommon mini-album by Emily Lanham made from none other than a toilet paper roll! How’s that for up-cycling.

WRMK Cropadile | Mid Week Mojo #50

WRMK Cropadile | Mid Week Mojo #50

Can you believe it? We have reached another milestone in our Mid Week Mojos. Today’s steal, the We R Memory Keepers, Cropadile is the perfect way to celebrate the Gold Club  milestone. Life as a crafter without a Crop A Dile is incomplete. :) I cannot say enough good about this tool and it’s truly one that should be in every crafter’s collection.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of using a Crop A Dile, once you do you will never go back. There is so much beauty to being able to set eyelets in the wee hours of the morning without making so much as a sound.

Many of you have inspired and touched me over the past 50 weeks and my life is greater for it. In return I wanted to take a moment this week to pay special tribute to some wonderful friends of mine who recently lost their son in a tragic accident.Yesterday while I was enjoying the celebration of “Gare Bear’s” life during his funeral services, I wondered how I could give back to my friends and realized then that I would take this time to pay tribute to them as parents and to little Gare Bear and the joy that he brought to so many in his short little life with this single photo creation.

To my friends, thank you. Thank you so much for being such stellar examples as parents. Even though you are relatively new parents in the grand scheme of things, you both certainly had a home filled with love and and that permeated not only throughout your home but your actions. Thank you for being an example to me in the way that you handle challenging situations with three boys. Thank you for merely being you and for reminding me about the important things in life. I hope that this little tribute to Gare Bear will bring you comfort at this time of sorrow.

I used the Crop A Dile to set a few eyelets along the heart border of this page to add a little bit of interest.

Now it’s that time that we all love! The random winner for MWM #49 is Sam Black!
