9 to 5

Jenni Bowlin 9 to 5 Collection | Mid Week Mojo

Pearl – Layout 7

Back to school. Those three words bring such peace and joy to my heart! And you know what else does? Back to school supplies. The glorious array of organization tools, labels, notebooks, pens, pencils, and post it notes make me so happy. Today’s steal, the 9 to 5 collection by Jenni Bowlin, echoes my love of office supplies. All of Jenni’s little embellies bring the perfect “organization” to any page.

It was so much fun to see a sketch from Design Team member Katrina last month that I asked Regina if she would provide us with one. It’s a treat for me to be given some inspiration and then make it blossom in my own creative way just like you ladies do each week.

I was delighted when ScrabookSteals fan Jennifer Collins sent me photos of her sweet little lady in case I needed something fresh to work with. How could I resist scrapping photos of this little angel?

It was hard to settle on which of the six photos she sent me to use but when I saw the “he said,” “she said” note cards in today’s collection I knew I wanted to use them as a big part of the layout. I thought of how fun it will be for both mom and dad to record their feelings of the new little princess in their family.

Keeping in theme with Regina’s sketch, I used the row of tickets across the bottom of the layout as one of the borders, then used some washi in combination with the chipboard buttons and some flowers as the other border area. I also used a little Mr. Huey’s mist to alter the chipboard letters which I included on the layout.

Now for a treat in seeing already how Regina Mangum interpreted her own sketch. I LOVE THIS!

Thank you so much Jen for allowing me to scrap a photo of sweet little Julia! I have five more sitting on my desk so you never know when she may make another appearance. 😉

Speaking of appearances, your layouts this week have been absolutely fantastic! Keep it up girls! This week Julie Koets is our lucky random winner. I’m blown away by Julie’s interpretation of the Pearl 6 sketch.

I love everything right down to the texture, the stamping, and the misting. Way to take a good sketch and make it fab, girl! Julie, please send an email to service@stealnetwork.com letting them know that you are this week’s winner and we will be happy to get a prize sent out to you.

For those of you just joining us, now is a great time to jump in on the fun! Each Wednesday we provide a new sketch and you have until the following Monday at 11:59 MST to have your creations posted somewhere online and linked to this blog post. You can find all of the details here. Also, as we continue week to week, bookmark this page for your quick reference to Mid Week Mojo links.

Can’t wait to see the interpretations of this week’s sketch start popping up on our Facebook fan page. If you haven’t already liked us, stop by. We have lots of fun!

October Afternoon 9 to 5

Fun! That’s today’s steal, the October Afternoon 9 to 5 collection, in a word. While not all of us may feel like working 9 to 5 is particularly fun, I think this darling collection is lively and fun-loving and makes me wanna scrap! Given the fact that today we have an exuberantly talented designer, Megan Klauer, it makes me wanna get my scrappy on even more! Lucky for me, scrapping is my job. Yeah. Don’t hate me. :)

I am so honored to be sharing a few layouts with you guys today. October Afternoon has long been one of my favorite manufacturers and the 9 to 5 collection is no exception to their awesomeness! Their colors and combination of vintage with modern patterns are perfection.

I set out to create layouts that show the use of the collection beyond the “office” theme. I started first with a baseball page about my oldest son: You are a Super Baller.

For the journaling piece I actually used the packaging from the buttons. Use every bit; that’s my motto!

My second page uses a simple design that can be recreated with any theme.

A black & white photo pops against the vibrant colors of the 9 to 5 collection & the ledger paper is the perfect place for your journaling to land.

My last page shows a simple yet effect way to turn your buttons into a fun confetti like design on a page or a card.

I love creating a page like this. It’s not about a special event, but rather about something that happens every day at our house. Something that may get forgotten if not recorded with paper and glue.

And last but not least, a simple card: Miss You – The perfect way to reach out to a friend you haven’t talked with in a while.

Megan! Word cannot express how much I love your projects, and your handwriting, and your topics, and your ability to take a themed collection and make it work for everyday use! However, my husband may not love the fact that thanks to your stunning talents I will be stealing today. There’s always room for more paper, right?

Thank you SO Much. If you haven’t already treated yourself to a visual delight, stop on over to Megan’s blog for some extraordinary eye candy!
