6×6 Paper Pad Ideas

My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Collection Vol. 2 | Monday Card Madness #107

Today’s steal, the My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Collection Vol. 2 are the perfect collections for this time of year. With the kiddos back in school and teacher’s gifts for the holidays creeping up before we know it, the variety of paper collections available today can offer all sorts of crafty ideas for any teacher gift need.

During the retreat I decided to ask some of the creative crafters sitting at my table if they would like to create some cards for this week’s Monday Card Madness. I love the different twists they put on the School Daze collection.

Jen McDermott whipped up this darling card and I just about un-invited her from sitting by me because her stamping abilities are so incredible. 😉

Cristine Redmond made this darling teacher thank you card — and again, stamping. I’m a wee bit envious I have to admit! I love how it looks!

And lastly Kelly Marks made this incredibly fun card with a great mix of the patterns in this collection.

Thank you for sharing your cuteness with us, ladies!

Now some of you may be wondering what the “sketch” is for this week and you are lucky enough to get to use any or all three of the cards as inspiration. :)

Believe it or not, we are nearing the end of another month.

If you’d like to enter to win our October Monday Card Madness swag package:

  • Create any or all of the weekly Monday Card Madness sketches.
  • Post the card to our Facebook fan page, or any other online location.
  • Leave a comment on one of the Monday Card Madness blog posts with a link to your card no later than 11:59 pm, MT on Thursday, November 1st.

Have fun creating cards this week!

Authentique 6×6 Pad Bundles | Monday Card Madness #84

Authentique lovers you are in for a treat today! Seven different 6×6 Authentique Pad Bundles are up for grabs in today’s steal. That means lots of different patterns, stickers and die cut embellishments to fill just about every need. Yup, pretty much a 6×6 patterned paper dream.

I love 6×6 pads for creating cards. The mini prints really lend to creating a card with just the right touch. I decided to pick two of the Authentique lines that I haven’t had the pleasure of playing yet, to create this week’s Monday Card Madness creations.

First off I tinkered around with the Loyal collection. I absolutely love the combination of greens and blues and think it would be so suitable for so many things.

On the first card I went with a generic “hello” theme which would really be great for young and old, male and female alike!

Next I decided to create a card baby boy themed that used one of the many darling baby boy themed diecuts in the collection.

I then had the pleasure of creating with the Delightful collection. I simply re-created the themes of the first two cards and made these in a snap!

Gosh I love Authentique! So much fun to play with.

If you are interested in playing along with our Monday Card Madness sketches and winning the random drawing for May, be sure to have your cards created and posted to one of the Monday Card Madness sketches by Friday, June 1st at 11:59 pm.

Also, be sure to check in tomorrow for an always fabulous How To’sday by Charity Becker, Wednesday for Mid Week Mojo, and Friday for yet another spectacular guest blogger!

Have a great day.

My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Paper Pads

Good evening scrappy peeps! We are so excited to be bringing you a the first official assignment from our Design Team member Cyndee Kawa using tonight’s steal, the My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Paper Pads.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy a little inspiration from our Princess of the PM!

Hello and welcome to the first ever ScrapbookSteals Design Team blog post! I was so shocked and surprised when Kristy Lee asked me to be the first member of the Design Team, and WOW do I feel honored!

Once I got over my initial shock, Brittany and I got to talking about what I could work with. And she said the magic words “My Mind’s Eye” – seriously one of my favorite companies and love the smell and weight of their papers. So, without further ado, here’s what I created with the My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Paper Pads:

I love that the My Mind’s Eye 6×6 pads are so versatile and those super cute mini versions of the prints are great for smaller projects. And in case you can’t bear to have only 1 sheet of a print, the pad comes with 2 of each!

First I wanted to create a layout highlighting a number of the sweet patterns available in the Fine & Dandy Girl paper pad. There’s such a variety and they coordinate so perfectly. Just because this is a 12×12 layout, that doesn’t mean you can’t use a 6×6 pad, and still have it look like a bigger sheet of paper! Instead of having the strips of patterned paper go behind the photo, they end right under the edges. And that turquoise chevron paper at the bottom – can you spot where I covered up the edges meeting? Gotta love some well-placed embellishments!

6×6 pads are always perfect for adding embellishments to a layout – they’re already a smaller scale print, so they won’t overwhelm and are totally suited to add that extra little something.

Since I have a tendency to be a little behind in scrapping my photos (can you say 2008?), I thought it might be a good idea to have somewhere to journal about the photos – as soon as I take them. Then there’s no need to wrack my brains trying to remember the little details when I get around to making a layout – next week or next year.

I had picked up some plain 4×6 lined notebooks at a big box store and the 6×6 papers were perfectly sized to alter them. I had a cute little journal in no time! I didn’t over- embellish, since this will probably get tossed in my purse or in my camera bag – ready to journal the funny/crazy things my kids say or document the details for the next set of photos taken.

The Fine & Dandy girl collection screams of my little girl, with the sweet combination of pink and brown patterns. Since we plan on painting her room this summer, I thought a little bit of wall decor would be a great way to get the decorating started!

Using my Silhouette, I planned and cut out the letters and pennants. The smaller scaled patterns lend themselves to making smaller cuts, which was perfect for this 8×8 shadow box. With the addition of some sparkle and bling, it’s now ready for her room!

And my final project, which was totally based on necessity… We *had* this magnet on our dishwasher that would prevent hubby and I from constantly asking each other “Are the dishes clean or dirty?” And now we have a cute replacement that matches the kitchen and that we don’t need to worry about knocking and breaking! It was super easy to make and just required some laminating…

Thank you for taking a look at all the fun I had using the My Mind’s Eye 6×6 paper pad! I hope you found some inspiration and enjoyed the first ScrapbookSteals Design Team post! Now go steal some 6×6 pads, if you haven’t already!
