Teresa Collins He Said She Said | Monday Craft Madness #10

Today for Monday Craft Madness I couldn’t help myself in making more than one thing. The  Teresa Collins She Said Collection to just had to much wonderfulness to choose one creation. I reached for some awesome pictures of the super cute Jovi and her 1st birthday to create two of my projects. I couldn’t even stop there, I had to make some cards as well….. So today’s theme is:

Your Choice

Create anything you love; cards, banners, decor piece, layouts – whatever your heart desires. Here’s what I created:

I used chalkboard card bases from American Crafts for the cards, it allowed me to stretch out this collection kit even further. I didn’t have to create my own bases and I only use bits of the papers and the embellishments to create these cards. Here’s a closer look:

This is one of my favorite photos from Jovi’s 1st year photo shoot. She wasn’t sure about the party hat and the cake at first, but when she realized how the cake tasted, she dove in and loved it. The pure joy on her face made me want to create a wall hanging to highlight her joy. If only I could get away with eating cake this way.

The banner was super fun and quick to make. I used a kraft banner base from American crafts and again I was able to just use bits of my beautiful patterned papers. The banner took less than an hour once I chose the items I wanted to include. Now Jovi’s mom has it hanging in her cubicle at the office and we get to look at it every day. Check out some close ups of the banner pieces:

I really had fun with this collection, I’ve seen it many times but breathing new life into it was a blast. Don’t write off old collections in your stash, you can use them to create beautiful things for your beautiful life.

Simple Stories Enchanted | Mid Week Mojo Daffodil #7

Daffodil – Week 7 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

I can’t get enough of Simple Stories lately and they have knocked it out of the park again. The Enchanted Collection  is everything you love about girls, princesses and theme park princesses. I was so excited to use this collection for today’s Mid Week Mojo and these awesome 1 year photos of my friend Jovi. I had the privilege of getting to see this little girl when her mom brought her into the office. She is probably the happiest baby I have ever met.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

I love that this girly collection has bits of blue and purple as well as the traditional princess pink. The spots of foil also just make me smile. Finding bits of it on the papers as well as in some of the embellishments just made my day.

I love how Simple Stories is doing their washi tape in paper packs instead of on rolls. Makes it easier to use in my opinion and much easier to store. I love the pop of yellow the washi tape brings to the side of this photo.

You all may have heard me squeal with delight when I realized the pink ‘princess’ sticker matched perfectly in size to the gold foiled chipboard ‘princess’ sticker. That I was able to use them both in as my title just brought a huge smile to my face.

I tend to have a love hate relationship with wood veneer pieces. I collect them and love them but can’t always find a place to put them. This collection I was able to use several of them and they fit in perfectly.

The bits and pieces packs always have such fun things to use. From tags and die cuts to words and journaling pieces, along with some pop dots you can always add interest and dimension to your projects.

A big congrats to Karrie Sweet, you are last week’s winner!  I love how you flipped the sketch!

Fancy Pants Me-Ology | Monday Craft Madness #9

I love to see projects created by manufacturer design teams. I found something on the Fancy Pants Blog that caught my eye. While the Me-Ology Collection is perfect to document your every day life, these gift bags made by Michelle Philippi are super cute. We decided to borrow her cute project for today’s  Monday Craft Madness  Today’s theme is:

Gift Giving

Create something for someone, a gift tag or a gift bag. Check out Michelle’s gift bags:

Michelle started out with making her paper bows.

After creating the bows, Michelle chose some of her favorite pattern papers and library cards to create the base of her gift bag decorations.

It’s amazing to me the different looks you can create with one collection. Michelle was able to different gift bags with the same idea and same collection.

I love the idea of creating multiples of the same item so you have it on hand when you need it.  Gift tags, gift bags, cards and more are always things I am looking for at the last minute. I may take Michelle’s idea and run with it.

My Mind’s Eye Market Street Ashbury Heights | Mid Week Mojo Daffodil #6

Daffodil – Week 6 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Due to some illness we have a recycled  Mid Week Mojo of sorts. Best thing about that is we get to see our friend and fan Brenda Smith  guest sketching today and showing off her amazing talent again! For those of you who may have tried this sketch in the past, I can’t wait to see what you come up with this time!

A couple months ago, I came across some photos of My Mind’s Eye’s Market Street collection. When I saw all the gold foil accents to the papers, I was instantly in love. Imagine my giddiness when I found out I would get to work with this gorgeous paper for today’s Mid Week Mojo  I used the Ashbury Heights collection. The colors were so sunny and bright, not to mention that my three favorite colors are in this collection: aqua, coral, and gold! I had some pictures from my daughter’s recent 4th birthday that I knew would fit the color scheme perfectly.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

I decided to use stars instead of the circles and layered and stitched them to give them a little dimensional effect.
There was so much good stuff in this collection that I couldn’t stop at just a layout. I also made a Project Life page using the 3×4 cards, the 6×6 pad, the chipboard buttons and accents, enamel dots, and cardstock stickers. The 3×4 cards made this spread come together so easily.
I was inspired when I saw the Ready to Frame Art Prints with gold foil accents and decided I need to make a wall hanging. I used the print with 9 circles laid out in a grid and took a heart punch and layered multiple hearts and then stitched. To finish it off, I added a flair button to the gold foil circle.
I really enjoyed working with this paper and I can almost guarantee that you will not regret buying this stuff. It is SO much prettier in person. If you would like to find out more about me, please come check out my Instagram at or my blog at . Thank you so much for having me as your MWM hostess today! I look forward to seeing what you all create!

Simple Stories I AM | Monday Craft Madness #8

Today’s Monday Craft Madness was a personal journey for me. When I got a first hand look at the used I AM Collection from Simple Storie to I gasped a little bit. It is so very beautiful in colors and design. Then I looked closer at some of the projects that were on display at the Craft and Hobby Association show, I had tears in my eyes. We all seem to minimize ourselves and who and what we are. This collection is so beautiful and celebrates the most important story…yours. So today’s theme is:

YOU

Create something that tells your story or celebrates you. Here’s what I created:

I am one that definitely gives myself a hard time. I enlisted help from some friends to pick a word that describes me. Wow, it’s awesome to do that from time to time. To see how others see you is a pretty awesome experience. Almost all of their responses are included on my project along with a few of my own.

I used the SN@P! cards and the embellishments for this project. I can’t say enough about the embellishments that Simple Stories is creating. This collection also has touches of gold foil all over the place. I’t so beautiful. The quotes are inspiring and something I will now be able to read every day.

Along with some pop dots, I was able to use the stickers, chipboard stickers, enamel dots and the awesome Bradz, that Simple Stories invented, to embellish my printer’s tray. I loved the banner included in the chipboard stickers and just had to add it to my project.

One of the new embellishments that Simple Stories added to this collection is their pack of Interactive Elements.

I wanted to use these on my project so badly because I love the idea of flipping, pulling and interacting with a project. Sadly the sizing didn’t work for the space I had so I created my own, with a nod to the masters. With this pocket I created I could use the tags to write some more of the words my awesome friends used to describe me.

Here’s hoping we can all remember the awesomeness we all have inside and outside. I am going to put this project on my desk at work so when I’m having a hard day I can remember how others see me and how I want to see myself.
