Doodlebug Designs Happy Harvest | Mid Week Mojo Gardenia #2

Pansy – Week 2 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Warm colors, warm clothes, cold weather, it all adds up to autumn time around here. All of these things remind me of family and the  Doodlebug Designs Happy Harvest Collection brings out all of those feelings.  For today’s  Mid Week Mojo I used a family photo from the Fairbanks family. Super cute new little family.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

You can’t really find much cuter out there than Doodlebug Designs. Their bright, fun colors and their cute whimsical designs will stand the test of time. Since their color palette is used throughout all of their collections, you can choose products from any and all fall designs and it will go together seamlessly.

I changed one of the Simply Put Album Inserts into a tag to add a little bit of journaling.

The sticker borders are great and the intricate design adds some elegance to any project.

The package of mini flowers are so quick an easy to make, I got a little obsessed with them. I love the look of them all around the layout.

I used some pop dots on a few of the flowers and then added the doodle pop stickers and the flair buttons to add extra dimension.

A big congrats to Emily Aurora, you are last week’s winner!

My Mind’s Eye Just Sayin’ | Monday Craft Madness #34

As I was trying to think of what to make with  My Mind’s Eye Just Sayin’  I came across a blog post from My Mind’s eye and a project created by the wonderful Amber Packer. She used this collection to create a full alphabet wall decoration. (Check it out here) I loved how the papers looked on the letters so today for Monday Craft Madness I decided to do something similar. I love creating things for co-workers and one of our staff recently had a baby girl and I thought this collection would be perfect for the little princess…… So today’s theme is:

Princess

Create something with a princess theme, about your little princess or for a princess in your life. Here’s what I created:

I love the bold glitter (and it didn’t get all over my craft space!) and the dark and pink colors of this collection. The hints of blue throughout the collection are a great contrast. Check out the letters up close.

It took less than an hour to cover all of the letters and add some embellishments for this project.  Go to your craft store, pick out your favorite letters and make something fun.

My Mind’s Eye Jubilee | Mid Week Mojo Gardenia #1

Gardenia- Week 1 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

I was thinking the other day, as I am sure we all do, that my kids have grown up way too fast. When we scheduled My Mind’s Eye Jubilee as our steal today, I thought it was the perfect collection to do a tribute layout to my kids. Finding these photos of my kids about 10 years ago just made me smile. I decided to use them for today’s Mid Week Mojo I could see their future in their eyes in these photos and I love the people they have all become.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

I decided I wanted to use the 3×4 journal cards in this collection for the background.  I chose a few of my favorites and then filed in the holes with some of the fabulous patterned papers. As usual, the die cuts in the mixed bag and the adhesive chipboard pieces are perfect for embellishing your projects.

When I saw the journaling card that said, “this is the good stuff” my kids were the first thing that came to my mind. They are really the good stuff that my world revolves around.

This patterned paper also already contained a good quote. I have always wanted to teach my kids to find an adventure and live with no regrets. I think they have grown into just those people; courageous, adventurous,  and strong.

A big congrats to Leslie Walker, you are last week’s winner!

Simple Stories Cozy Christmas | Monday Craft Madness #33

While all of Simple Stories’ collections are perfect for preserving memories, both in the traditional 12×12 format and the pocket page style, I noticed something fun about  Simple Stories Cozy Christmas  The pages, cards and other embellishments are perfect of other projects. One of my co-workers, Kerianne, has an adorable son, Mason. If you frequent any of the Steals.com websites you have probably seen his happy face. I decided to help him a little bit with his letter to Santa for this year. I can’t imagine Santa refusing Mason’s requests if he receives an entire mini album. So for today’s Monday Craft Madness I created a mini album letter to Santa…..  today’s theme is:

Mini Albums

Create an interesting twist on a mini album, like a letter to someone you love. Here’s what I created:

I love how the 6×8 pages included in this collection are all sorts of sizes and shapes. It offers a kinds of dimension and texture when you first look at the album. I added a few of the bits and pieces die cuts and enamel dots to the cover.

We figured a photo of mason will help santa remember who he is.

The chipboard pieces match up with the designs beautifully.

The die cut pages add a little bit of interest as you thumb through the album.

We used one of the 3×4 journaling cards for Mason’s present request list.

Santa can also keep track of where Mason will be all through December, just so they don’t miss each other.

And finally, Mason’s letter to Santa. It’s important to list all of the good things you have done throughout the year to get on Santa’s good side.

There’s room in this album to add more items, we are going to add lists from other members of Mason’s family. I just love the idea of sending a letter to someone you love in a mini album format. All of the care and love can flow through your creativity.
