My Mind’s Eye Chalk Studio II | Monday Craft Madness #29

In a few months I will be celbrating my 20th wedding anniversary. (I know it’s shocking as I seem so young.) I have been wanting to work on a project as a gift for the hubby and when I saw Steal Name It was the perfect collection for a little journal album I can give my husband. Today for Monday Craft Madness I started a mini remembrance album….. So today’s theme is:

Mini Album

Create something mini or show us your favorite mini album. Here’s what I created:

I found a little mini album with a chipboard storage box in my stash. I covered the box and the mini album with the B-sides of the 12×12 papers. I love how they are chalkboard on the front and bright bold colors on the back.

Inside the little 3×3 sheet protectors are the perfect size to add little love notes I have collected over the past 20 years. I am excited to fill the album with those notes…now to just remember where I hid them.

We R Memory Keepers Jet Set | Mid Week Mojo Pansy #5

Pansy - Week 5 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Today marks the last day of our month long guest sketches from the fabulous Brenda Smith I for one am sad to see her go, but I have loved each and every sketch she has created for us. This week she used We R Memory Keepers Jet Set Collection for her last Mid Week Mojo of July.

Good morning everyone. Today marks the last week of my guest sketching and I want to thank each of you for having me and for playing along. I have truly enjoyed myself and have loved seeing what you’ve all created. I must admit that today’s collection, WRMK’s Jet Set, is definitely a favorite of mine. You don’t often see purple in scrapbook supplies and I think the purple, blue, green, and orange combination is unexpectedly gorgeous. It’s perfect for masculine or feminine projects, travel and non-travel themed pages both. And because today is my last week, I’ve decided to provide two different sketches and layouts, Pansy 5A and Pansy 5B. Choose one or the other or do both for double the entries into this week’s prize drawing :)

First, Pansy 5A:

And my layout:

My lovely friend Melissa took this (auto-timed) picture of us while we were visiting a garden in downtown SLC during last year’s Scrapbook Steals crop. I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to scrap it and when I saw these papers and embellishments, I knew it was time. I love all the globe-themed embellishments.

I love how the stickers have a slight dimension and texture to them.

My second sketch, Pansy 5B:

And my layout:

A ton of layering is not usually my style but there are so many fun patterned papers in this collection that I couldn’t let any go to waste. I enjoyed putting a bunch of patterns together to get a graphic punch without feeling like the page was overwhelmed.

I cut out some tags from a patterned paper for embellishments and I think it turned out perfectly. And aren’t those chipboard alphas fabulous?!

As always, I’m looking forward to seeing your creations. Thanks again for having me this month!

-Brenda

Sneak Peeks From Our Favorite Brands

Last week I was able to go to a little trade show, right here in Salt Lake City. I have been in and around the crafting world for over a decade and this is the first time I was able to attend a show without boarding an airplane first. This was a small show and closed to the public, so I thought I would show a little of what I was able to see from some of our favorite brands. (Please excuse some of my iPhone photos)

My Mind’s Eye

Bo Bunny

Echo Park & Carta Bella Paper

Silhouette - I’m loving what they are doing with fabric.

Graphic45

Lawn Fawn

Simple Stories

And last but definitely not least…

Teresa Collins

I have been trying to pick a favorite for days now, but I just can’t.  Do you have a favorite? Let us know!

Simple Stories December Documented | Monday Craft Madness #28

There’s nothing like planning ahead, or even just planning sometimes. Being able to get started on my December Daily album in July is somewhat of a luxury for anyone. I was lucky enough that today’s steal is  Simple Stories December Documented This collection is perfect for a December Daily project so for Monday Craft Madness I got started on my album…. Today’s theme is:

Mini Album

Create a mini album or share with us your favorite mini album. You could even get ahead and start your own December Daily album. Here’s what I created:

I was able to use some of the embellishments from My Mind’s Eye Mistletoe Magic collection as well, the colors and tones matched perfectly with this Simple Stories collection.

The 3×4 cards included in this collection are perfect for this project. I love that there are cards with numbers 1-25 to help move the process of this album along easily. Check out some more of the pages:

Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas | Mid Week Mojo Pansy #4

Pansy - Week 4 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

As we continue our month long inspiration from super scrapper Brenda Smith, we get to see how she used Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas for today’s Mid Week Mojo

• • • • •

Good morning! Today, I’m working with the gorgeous, traditional Christmas line from Fancy Pants, Merry Little Christmas. With so many different takes on Christmas paper these days, it’s refreshing to see the traditional colors and imagery.

First, the sketch:

And the layout:

Christmas is certainly my favorite holiday (besides my birthday!) and it’s funny that I take so many pictures leading up to the day, but then have a severe lack of pictures of Christmas Day proper. Guess I must’ve just been living in the moment. ;) So these pictures aren’t the greatest, but they show what both my kids got from Santa and that little Santa embellishment was so cute, I HAD to use him.

I used the red corrugated paper to mat my photos and I feel like it gave it a good amount of dimension and texture. I punched out stars to go over my circles on the right and then layered even more with some of the dimensional embellishments from this line. This layout came together so easily with all the wonderful die cuts and embellishments. As always, I look forward to seeing what you create with the sketch. Happy scrapping!
