Hello Everyone,

Mary Pat here with you today and I just loved working with the Pebbles Chalk Kit. This kit is just so fun to work with. I love how versatile it is. I made three projects for you today showing all the different things that you can do with this amazing kit.

In the kit you get stencils to create wonderful projects. I used the sun and rain drops to create this card.

For the second project I made a birthday tag. The ombre look is very hot right now and using the chalk  I was able to create this cool look. The chalks really blend well together and it was very easy going from the darkest shade of pink to the lightest shade.

For my final project I altered a photo. Starting with a black and white photo printed on non glossy paper, you can add color to certain areas of the photo by using the chalk. The look is so soft and subtle but simply amazing.

I have created a video for you showing how I created these three awesome projects. I hope you enjoy it and I think you are totally going to love this wonderful steal!

See you next time! Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Thanks Mary! That ombre effect is very cool and I can’t wait to try it on one of my projects.

We R Memory Keepers Red, White & Blue | Mid Week Mojo Peridot #4

Peridot– Week 4 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo? Get started
 here!

Perfect for your summertime celebrations, We R Memory Keepers’ Red, White & Blue collection is good for everything from party decorations to keeping your memories after the celebration. Photos of your hometown parade, picnic and fireworks will shine! The layered chipboard, flags, pinwheels, embossed stickers, metal badges, star pins and embossed stickers will make creating as easy as apple pie (you ate at the picnic).

I hate to admit it, but my family and I are sort of indoor people. We don’t spend much time enjoying the outdoors camping or going to the lake. The plague of allergies we all suffer is a huge part of that. I turned to our beloved Brittany Perry once again for photos of her cute family outdoors camping for this week’s Mid Week Mojo.  Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

The embellishments in this kit are fantastic for adding extra dimension.

I also decided this week to make a bonus layout. I flipped the sketch a little and found a picture of my second-oldest brother, his wife and three of their grand-kids at one of their 4th of July picnics. Yes my brother is old enough to have grand-kids (I am not).

How To-sday | Shaker Box

Today we are thrilled to start our Spring/Summer Design Team How To’sday posts.  Our first Design Team how to comes from the awesome Candace Zetener.  She is bringing a little bit of (contained) glitter into our lives.

• • • • •

Hey everyone! I’m so glad you have stopped by the blog for How To-sday today! I am so excited to share my shaker card with you, and teach you how to make your own! I used to be intimidated by these cards, but they are actually pretty easy to make. Once you get onto them, you’ll be addicted!

How To Candace Shaker Card 1

Here are the supplies you will need to make the shaker portion of this card.

  • Acetate (clear, plastic craft material)
  • Foam tape
  • Glitter
  • Pattern paper
  • Other adhesive
  • Dryer sheet

How To Candace Shaker Card 2

Start with the “window” you will be able to see your sparkles through. I used my cameo to cut the shape of a bottle and added details such as stitching with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen and shading with Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink.

How To Candace Shaker Card 3

Cut a piece of cardstock that is slightly bigger than your shaker window (also cut a piece of acetate the same size) and add foam tape around outside of the cardstock. (Make sure your cardstock is big enough that your tape will not show through the window). Be sure you don’t leave any spaces in between the ends of your foam tape where sparkles can sneak out!

How To Candace Shaker Card 4

Peel the back off your tape, add desired amount of sparkles and place acetate over top.

tip: Use the dryer sheet to rub the acetate before sticking it on – it will get rid of any static that may cause your glitter to stick to the acetate!

How To Candace Shaker Card 5

Add adhesive to the very outside edges of the acetate and glue to the window of your card. Add a couple foam strips to both ends of the strip of paper with the window in it, to keep the “height” of the pink strip the same throughout the whole piece.

How To Candace Shaker Card 6

Complete rest of card with desired details and let the shaking begin!  Instead of glitter, you can also use confetti, beads or sequins! The possibilities are endless!

Thank you Candace, this was fantastic.  I love these shaker boxes but have always been intimidated.  Now I can give it a try!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for another Mid Week Mojo!

Echo Park Paper This & That | Monday Craft Madness #26

When you are looking for that perfect collection that is versatile and you can create something ‘out of the box,’ Echo Park’s This & That Collection is the perfect thing.  Choose from a boy version (Charming) or girl version (Graceful) and start creating.  I chose “Charming” and created a fun game for my great-nephew.  This brings us to our Monday Craft Madness Theme for this week:

Out of the Box

Make something that is not a traditional layout or card.  Kids love to see pictures of themselves, I made this memory game with cute Lincoln Parker’s photos.  It’s super easy and he loves playing with it.

LincolnsGameMain

For those of you that follow Echo Park Paper, you may see Madison in one of these photos. ;)

Start by trimming down your paper and photos.  I used 4×4 inch squares as my main piece and cut two other patterns to layer on the back of my cards.  I then trimmed my photos to 3.75×3.75 inches.

LincolnsGameTrimmed Paper

After layering and gluing the pieces together it made the cards thick enough to play with.  Lay out all of the cards to start the game.

LincolnsGame

How fun is that?  You can even use some journal or title cards from the collection to make a little bit of variety in the game.

LincolnsGamePlaying

Then I made a little box to keep the cards in and Lincoln can play the game for years to come.

Authentique Paper Original | Friday Design Team Project

Design Team Member Staci Jones is with us today for her first post. Staci has been in our ScrapbookSteals community since the beginning.  I for one just love seeing her work! Staci is working with Authentique Paper’s Original Collection.  This collection is very versatile and Staci shows you how!

I am so excited to share with you my first Design Team post. Not only do I love Scrapbooksteals, but I just love today’s steal!

I have a little boy who loves football, especially our favorite college team whose colors happen to be blue and white. This poor little boy has been in a poorly decorated bedroom for the last couple of years because I just couldn’t find the right decorations. Then Melodee handed me Authentique’s Original Collection. Immediately, I knew that is was just what my little boy’s room needed.

After a couple hours spent in my craft room with my Silhouette, some ink, cardstock, and Original, my son has a room that is finally decorated to suit his football love.

Design Team Staci Jones AP Original 386

I used some football images from the Silhouette store cut out on cardstock and adhered to either the 12×12 or 6×6 sheets of original to make some easy framed images and wall hangings.

I love banners and really wanted one with the team name for his wall. Super easy and quick to make.

Design Team Staci Jones AP Original 403

Because it is a football room, the room wouldn’t be complete without a football and a a flipbook with his football game pictures.

My little boy loves his room, my husband loves the room, I love the room, and I still have plenty of paper left over to do some great football layouts for his scrapbook!

Thanks for joining me today!

Thanks Staci!  I love how you could decorate a room with one kit.  What an awesome job!  Make sure to come back on Monday to see a project using a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
