Pebbles Candy Dots | Monday Craft Madness #24

Candy makes every day a little better, right?  With Pebbles Candy Dots you can make your projects a little bit better too!  Choose from Classic, Glitter or Crystal to add that little extra dimension to your projects.  This brings us to our Monday Craft Madness Theme:

Dimension

Add some extra dimension to a project.  Try some of the ideas in this post, use pop dots, buttons, flowers…whatever strikes your fancy!

We are lucky today to have Stephanie Eaken as our guest designer.  Her style is inspiring, I am going to try some of her ideas in my own projects!

My name is Stephanie Eaken and I am a 40 year-old stay-at-home mom. I have two kids who keep me busy, entertained, and scrapping! I love all things related to scrapbooking. I started scrapping about 9 years ago when my oldest was a baby and have not stopped! I intended to make a book of her first year only. Well, there was no looking back for me once I began. I was hooked!

 Monday Craft Madness Stephanie Eaken

I look forward to my scrappy time in my space in our basement. I would describe my style as eclectic. I love trying new and different things and techniques. I also tend to like the hot, new trends. I am always evolving. I scrapbook 12×12 pages, mini albums, and occassionally make cards and OTPs. I love working with kits, sketches and online challenges! Paper and glue have been longtime friends of mine!

Monday Craft Madness Stephanie Eaken thank u

The first is a thank you note. I used butterflies punched from various scrap papers to create a bit of a mosaic heart. The alphas are MME from the “Lush” collection. I used the Pebbles candy dots in various spots on the heart to cover empty spaces & in the sentiment of the card.

Monday Craft Madness Stephanie Eaken 4 You tag

We have several family & friends’ birthdays coming up this month, so I figured a gift tag was in order! I kept it pretty simple to be applicable to either gender. I used papers from Pink Paislee & fussy cut the doiles from a sheet of paper by Echo Park. The alphas are American Crafts Thickers. I adhered the Pebbles Candy Dots around the perimeter of the larger paper doily and placed one in the center of the butterfly. I also used a larger clear dot in the center of the doily. LOVE them!!

My third project is a layout of my daughter & one of our dogs. I started by placing the doily under the patterned paper (from Studio Calico); I punched 2-inch circles from coordinating scrap papers. The butterflies were also punched from scrap papers (I love using up my scraps!). I then began the layering process & added Pebbles’ candy dots to the center of all the butterflies. I also scattered them randomly around the fiished page to add more color!

Challenge #1 – “5″

Since we are celebrating with BabySteals.com’s 5th Birthday this week, create a project with 5 different pattern papers, 5 embellishments (buttons, brads, ribbon, twine, flowers etc) and 5 word-based items (title, journaling, stickers etc)

Challenge #2 - Your favorite song…now

Create a layout inspired by your favorite song right now.  It could be an old favorite or a new one.  It could be the title of your layout or mentioned in the journaling.  Think of Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are” and create a layout of a loved one.  Or maybe it’s Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” and a layout dedicated to your kids.

Challenge #3 – Twine

Since we are showing off twine in today’s Blog Hop, use some twine on your project!  It can be a little or a lot.  Use our awesome Blog Hop participants as inspiration to create something wonderful with twine.

Challenge #4 – Right Now

Create a project about Right Now.  It could be a layout about yourself, one of your kids, how much you love someone, or your hopes and dreams for the rest of the year.  Whatever inspires you about the words “Right Now”

Meet the New ScrapbookSteals.com Spring/Summer Design Team

S_S DT

After a few changes and coming through dozens and dozens of awesome applications, we are excited to announce our new Design Team.  It was hard to choose, but we know you will all enjoy the upcoming creations from:

Mary Pat Siehl, Staci Jones, and Candace Zentner!

We asked a few questions of our wonderful new team so you all could get to know them a little better.  Sit back, relax, and enjoy learning a little bit about each of our new design team members.

Mary Pat1

Meet Mary Pat Siehl!

Where do you live? I live in Springboro, Ohio

What is your favorite thing to make? In regards to paper crafting I can’t choose just one thing. I love scrapbooking ( that was my first love) but I also love cardmaking, stamping, home décor items and altered items. If I get to work with paper then I am a happy camper!

Do you have kids? I have two boys that totally keep me on the run and having fun. I am totally stocked in photos for a lifetime. I am years behind and I love it!

If you could travel anywhere (and scrapbook it) where would you go?  I would love to go back to Europe. I lived in Spain a couple of times and just love it.

What is your favorite scrap collection? I really can’t choose just one. I love paper and there are so many wonderful collections out there.

If you were locked in a room and forced to scrapbook, what tool would you have to have and why? I would have to have my Silhouette. It seems like I can’t make a project without it these days. I just love how versatile it is- home décor, scrapbooking, cards- it really is awesome!!

Staci Jones

Meet Staci Jones!

Where do you live? Beautiful Sandy, Utah. I love the mountains here, as I am an Oklahoma girl. I am grateful that everyday I wake up and see the mountains. I am also grateful that I am so close to the SS warehouse, even though my husband might not be. :)

What is your favorite thing to make? I love, love to make 12×12 scrapbook pages, but I am starting to get addicted to making smash books/mini albums for my daily journaling and Instagram pictures. I pretty much like to do anything crafty that requires me to play with paper.

Do you have kids? I have 4 of the most adorable kids ever. (Alright, maybe I am a little biased. :) ) My oldest is a 7 year old girl. When she was born 7 years ago, we found out she had Down Syndrome, but that hasn’t stopped her from being the craziest, funniest, most loving kid ever. Our second , also a girl, is 5 years old and keeps me on my toes. She loves to watch PBS kids and know so many random facts about different things that I am also learning something. Our third is a 3 year old boy. I always wanted all boys and I am glad to be only blessed with one. I come from a family of all girls so just having one boy is blowing my mind. He is wild, crazy, and as sweet as can be, especially with his little sister. Our youngest is a spunky and opinionated 20- month old. She brings so much joy into my life and is well suited to be the youngest. :)

If you could travel anywhere (and scrapbook it) where would you go? My dream is to travel through Europe, and especially Italy. I love all the movies that have scenes of Italy in them. The contrast of the gorgeous blue Mediterranean against the white buildings is just stunning. Have you heard about those world cruises, the ones that take you all around the world on a cruise ship? That is another thing I would love to do. I just want to see everything and scrap everything!

Candace Headshot

Meet Candace Zentner!

Where do you live? I am from a SMALL town in Alberta, Canada.

What is your favorite thing to make? My favorite thing to make is definitely layouts. I have been scrapbooking since I was just out of high school. Within the last couple of years, I have taken up card-making as well as anything else I can think of, that I can make with paper.

Do you have kids? I have three beautiful, sweet and fun little girls who keep me BUSY. They are four and a half, two and a half and six months old. It’s funny to think that I used to be scared I would have all boys, and never get a little girl!

If you could travel anywhere (and scrapbook it) where would you go? I would LOVE to go to Bora Bora and the Greek islands. I LOVE all things beachy, including scrapbook pages!

What is your favorite scrap collection? My all time favorite scrap collection is Summer Days by Echo Park. I am so in love with the bright, fun colors.

If you were locked in a room and forced to scrapbook, what tool would you have to have and why?   I could never make a project without my paper trimmer. I could not cut a straight line if my life depended on it. I would also need my ATG gun… I don’t know what I ever did without an ATG gun!!

A huge ScrapbookSteals.com welcome to all of you! We are excited to see what you create in the upcoming months.  Make sure to stay tuned to see all of the inspiration from these talented girls!
