How To-sday | Quick Seasonal Wreath

Today is another how-to from one of our super talented  Spring/Summer Design Team Today we have a creative How To from Design Team member Staci Jones!

• • • • •

My summer decor needed an update and I was inspired by these cool chipboard wreaths that I saw at Hobby Lobby. I grabbed a large roll of twine, which I am sure most of use have, and Authentique’s Glory collection.

After gluing the end of the twine on the back side, start wrapping around the wreath. Be sure to overlap the twine in the center circle every couple of wraps. Doing this ensures you stay pretty even with the wrapping so that the inner edge isn’t completed before the outer edge is. Keep wrapping and overlapping until your wreath is complete. When finished wrapping, either tie of the twine on the back or glue it down.

For embellishing the wreath, you could chose whatever fits the holiday, your decor, or theme you are going for. Because I needed summer decor and since it is almost the 4th of July, I made mine 4th of July themed. Using my Silhouette, I cut out the 3-d stars, folded them and hot glued them on. Throw nr a few of the collection stickers and you are all set with some new home decor.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a great week!

How To-sday | Add a Circular Window

Today’s How To-sday post comes from the fabulous Charity Hotrum.  I have admired her style for quite some time now.  I even got to meet her in person at the Mall of America last year.  Charity and Judy took one of the classes I taught.  Hanging out with them was definitely a highlight from my trip!

Here we go, check out what Charity has created.

Circular Window

Layering circle cut frames of cardstock makes a great base for a one-of-a-kind layout. Add a little scrapbooking mist and you’ll discover how easy it is to distress and curl your paper in one easy step.

Supplies needed:

  • 10 inch dinner plate with a deep rim
  • 3 sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock
  • Scrapbooking Mist
  • Assorted Brads
  • Circle Cutter

Directions:

How Tosday Charity 1

Step 1:Cut a 9.5 inch circle from the exact center of the back of a sheet of cardstock.

Step 2:Lay the cardstock over the dinner plate and spritz the edge of the circle.

Step 3:Turn the cardstock over and curl the edges of the circle away from the hole.

Step 4:Cut a 9.5 inch circle from the exact center of a second piece of cardstock.

Step 5:Layer the three sheets of cardstock so that the misted sheet is on the top and the uncut sheet is underneath. Attach the stacked cardstock with the brads.

Step 7:Stitch around the edge of the circular window, add photo, and embellish.
