Good morning and thanks for having me back again this week! I’ve enjoyed seeing all of your entries for my sketch last week and look forward to what you all come up with this week. I was lucky enough to work with Teresa Collins’ Life Emporium line for this week’s sketch. The papers have this lovely texture to them and are so satisfyingly heavy so they were fun to work with.

First, my sketch:

And my layout:

The colors in this collection are very earthy so I thought nothing would go better than some of my most recent favorite nature pictures.

I popped up the pennant just slightly to give it some dimension. The chipboard borders and word art were perfect for creating my title.

I finished off the layout with a little machine stitching and accenting with the chipboard buttons and regular buttons.

I hope you enjoy creating with today’s sketch and I look forward to seeing what you make!

-Brenda

Teresa Collins Nine & Co. | Mid Week Mojo Petunia #7

Petunia – Week 7 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Today we are super excited to welcome guest sketcher Melissa Dehne on our blog. She got to use Teresa Collins’ Nine & Co.  for today’s Mid Week Mojo She’s such a great scrapbooker I, for one, am thrilled to see more of her work.

Greetings! Melissa Dehne here today with a new sketch and layout for you on this Wednesday morning! I had the pleasure of working with the Teresa Collins collection Nine & Co for this layout. Simply stated, it is a gorgeous collection! It’s full of color, beauty, touches of gold and packed full of fun & pretty embellishments. From the paper to the verses on the ephemera, it is evident how much TLC went into designing this collection.

Here is the Petunia 7 sketch:

And here is my layout:

As you can see, I used many of the pieces that the collection had to offer. The overlay over the photo, the rub-on below the journaling box, and the chipboard stickers were just some of the options that I had to choose from when designing this page.

The chipboard and ephemera words “wonderful” and “life” jumped out at me and I decided to make them part of my title. Those, along with a journaling card trimmed down created the entire title for me! I have to admit though, my adoration for anything with sparkle and shine couldn’t help but love all of the gold foil shimmer that this collection had to offer.
The sketch I created uses one 4×6 photo but you can easily accommodate a 5×7 photo or even two 3×5 photos as well. Perhaps a chance to scrapbook some of the holiday photos that you took recently? I know I have plenty to choose from!
Since I enjoyed working with this collection so much, I decided to make one more layout, just for fun, to share with you today as well.

The sequins that come with this collection were begging to be displayed. I obliged since I love them so much! I also used one of the brads, more chipboard stickers as well as a vellum sticker on this layout. So much to choose from…so little time!
I hope that you will consider joining us for this week’s Mid-Week Mojo! I look forward to seeing what you create!
Thanks to Melodee and Scrapbook Steals for having me!
~Melissa

Teresa Collins Candy Cane Lane | Monday Craft Madness #44

The holidays are different for me. I used to love wrapping presents and surprising my kids. Well they are all now teenagers and the fun and magic have dwindled a little bit. It seems all they want for Christmas this year is gift cards.  Not terribly fun for me to give, but if that’s what they want I guess I will have to play along. Today for Monday Craft Madness I tried to use a creative way to give my daughter gift cards from some of her favorite places. I used Teresa Collins’ Candy Cane Lane Collection to make this fun gift card holder….. So today’s theme is:

Gift-Giving

I’ve used this process to create mini albums before, this time the gift cards fit perfectly. I was able to create the base of this mini album with ONE sheet of 12×12 cardstock. Here’s what I created:

Here is a pattern you can use to create something similar. Score and fold along the dotted lines and cut along the solid line.  You are scoring horizontally 2 inches from the top and 2 inches from the bottom, and across the middle at 6 inches. Then scoring vertically every three inches. Cut along your middle score from the side to the first score at the 3 inch mark.

Then simply fold up the 2″ flaps and then in half at your 6″ score. Fold either side of the paper accordion style. Use your favorite adhesive to hold the whole thing together, slip in your gift cards and embellish how you like. Voila! – a perfect gift for a picky teenager.

I also added some of the 3×4 cards that come in this collection to the inside of the pockets but you don’t need to do that. I only decided to do that because the paper I chose had words and they ended up upside down when I folded up my mini album.

Hopefully she will like it.  We would love to see and hear about some of your hand made gift giving ideas – the holidays are getting closer and closer!

Teresa Collins Something Wonderful | Monday Craft Madness #39

We all love paper collections that have a specific theme. Birthday, Halloween or Christmas are some of my favorites. Sometimes it’s great to find a collection without a specific theme, one you can use for any project. Today for Monday Craft Madness I used Teresa Collins Something Wonderful to make a mini album to celebrate all of the wonderful things in our lives….. So today’s theme is:

Mini Album

Create something a mini album or a project about the wonderful things in your life. Here’s what I created:

I used two pieces of chipboard for the front and back covers and then just used my handy scoring tool and some cardstock to create the binding for this album.

I tried to leave some space for photos and journaling in this album so I can add things as we go along through this crazy life.

This collection was created without a specific theme in mind, just something that celebrates the wonderfulness in each of our lives. Hopefully we can all find something wonderful to celebrate.

Teresa Collins Urban Market | Mid Week Mojo Gardenia #5

Gardenia – Week 5 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

One of my favorite collections over the past year has to be  Teresa Collins Urban Market I was so excited I got to use it for today’s Mid Week Mojo The rich blues and neutral accents make it a collection that can be used for almost any project. I saw this picture of my co-worker’s son and immediately wanted to use it with this collection. The baby belly made me smile, with all the rolls of baby goodness.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

I couldn’t decide on a title for this layout so two it is! With the awesome wooden die cut letters and the cardstock sticker letters, making two titles was easy. Using the chipboard elements, pop dots and stickers creating dimension was easy on this layout.

Who doesn’t love baby rolls?

A big congrats to Sheryl Kloke, you are last week’s winner!
