Perfect for your summertime celebrations, We R Memory Keepers’ Red, White & Blue collection is good for everything from party decorations to keeping your memories after the celebration. Photos of your hometown parade, picnic and fireworks will shine! The layered chipboard, flags, pinwheels, embossed stickers, metal badges, star pins and embossed stickers will make creating as easy as apple pie (you ate at the picnic).

I hate to admit it, but my family and I are sort of indoor people. We don’t spend much time enjoying the outdoors camping or going to the lake. The plague of allergies we all suffer is a huge part of that. I turned to our beloved Brittany Perry once again for photos of her cute family outdoors camping for this week’s Mid Week Mojo.  Here is the layout:

I also decided this week to make a bonus layout. I flipped the sketch a little and found a picture of my second-oldest brother, his wife and three of their grand-kids at one of their 4th of July picnics. Yes my brother is old enough to have grand-kids (I am not).

Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe Collection  the perfect color palette for any project. Olde Curiosity Shoppe is like stepping into lavish party, during the Victorian era, where imagination is the guest of honor. Our fabulous guest designer, Marisa Torp brings imagination to life using this collection with her hot air balloon photos.

Let me start by saying I am beyond thrilled to be a guest sketcher. I have been around Scrapbook Steals since before they hit 3,000 fans on the Facebook page. When I was asked to be a guest, I think I had a small heart attacked and then quickly said yes!!

I started scrapbooking a little more than two years ago with the First Mojo sketch, I was just setting out to make pretty pages to keep the memories of my family. It has turned into an obsession, and I love it every day.

The papers for this collection were dark, so I decided to pull out a few pictures that were very vivid. I think the color offset the collection very well.

I really liked the “B” sides of the papers. I did a little fussy cutting with my craft knife and used the paisley as an embellishment.  I  added a little bit of twine to the title and the balloon brighten it up just that little bit more.

I couldn’t figure out how to incorporate the flying pigs from the collection, but they are super fun and I can’t wait to get them on a different layout.

We R Memory Keepers Antique Chic Collection

We R Memory Keepers Antique Chic collection is a versatile collection full of  goodies.  The layered chipboard pieces, buttons, brads, embossed stickers and crochet flowers add the perfect touch to your projects.

In working with this collection, I gave myself a challenge. . . my parents just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary, to commemorate the event, I wanted to make a photo album.  Antique Chic matched the event perfectly (not only because my parents are antiques).

My plan:

  1. get my 7 brothers and sisters to contribute a page, but I knew that would never happen
  2. make all eight pages  and just get photos from the siblings (still hasn’t happened)
  3. use the Amber Sketches to save time, and see if I could make all eight pages with the same kit, and see how long it would take me

To my surprise I was able to make all eight base pages in about an hour and a half…then I went back and added the embellishments.

I was thrilled to be able to use just about every stitch of this collection kit for this project. That  feels good, although I may need to get another kit for my stash!

American Crafts Stamps and Memory Markers are some of the best around. Now, I love stamps and stampers but I am not one. I used to be a stamper but that was years ago and I am definitely out of practice! I took on this week as a challenge and I am pretty happy with the results.

Stamps are so versatile and can be used in many different ways. I ended up using them mostly to make die cuts.  Here is my layout:

A simple sketch, but you can add many layers.  I used the banner stamps for my title, and colored in the outline with the Memory Markers.

 I love to layer items to create dimension.  I used the grid stamp as a sort of a background and layered die cuts on top.

Here is where I cut out the stamp images into little die cuts.  I also just added some chevrons to add a little on the background.
