Sneak Peeks From Our Favorite Brands

Last week I was able to go to a little trade show, right here in Salt Lake City. I have been in and around the crafting world for over a decade and this is the first time I was able to attend a show without boarding an airplane first. This was a small show and closed to the public, so I thought I would show a little of what I was able to see from some of our favorite brands. (Please excuse some of my iPhone photos)

There’s nothing like planning ahead, or even just planning sometimes. Being able to get started on my December Daily album in July is somewhat of a luxury for anyone. Today’s theme is:

Mini Album

Create a mini album or share with us your favorite mini album. You could even get ahead and start your own December Daily album. Here’s what I created:

I was able to use some of the embellishments from My Mind’s Eye Mistletoe Magic collection as well, the colors and tones matched perfectly with this Simple Stories collection.

The 3×4 cards included in this collection are perfect for this project. I love that there are cards with numbers 1-25 to help move the process of this album along easily. Check out some more of the pages:

Simple Stories Charmed Life | Mid Week Mojo Daisy #8

Daisy – Week 8 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

When I saw the  Simple Stories Charmed Life collection, my heart skipped a little beat. The colors and patterns of this collection make it perfect for any project; boys, girls, men, women – whatever.I was excited to use it for today’s  Mid Week Mojo and this photo of little Liam in his plaid shirt worked perfectly.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

So many of the 12×12 papers in this collection are sectioned off not only into 3×4 or 4×6 cards, but 6×12, borders, 6×6 pieces and more. I loved these two 6×12 pieces and wanted to turn them into the background of the layout. I then used three of the 3×4 cards on the layout as well.

All of the die cuts, stickers and chipboard pieces leave endless possibilities to create dimension and interest on your projects.

With so many pieces in this collection, I can make dozens of more projects and I can’t wait to do so.

I created the title out of one of the die cut pieces and some of the alphabet/number stickers.

A big congrats to Kristy Mackeen, you are last week’s winner!

Simple Stories 24/Seven | Mid Week Mojo Iolite #8

Iolite- Week 8 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Simple Stories is known for their quick and easy Sn@p! style of scrapbooking. I am thrilled to report their products lend themselves to original 12×12 scrapbooking as well.  Now we all have old photos we haven’t scrapped yet. I seem to have dozens of pics of my kids’ field trips to the zoo. Simple Stories 24/Seven collection  was the perfect collection for this first grade zoo trip (yes this child is now a junior in high school, I am so on the ball). This  Mid Week Mojo made me very nostalgic. My kids have grown up way too fast.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

I love the layered stickers and how easy it is to use them to make a banner. The alphabet stickers included in the collection kit are so great with four different alphabets and three different sizes.

The decorative brads include die cuts behind them to add extra interest.

Here are more of those awesome alphabets. Perfect to create the title for this page. (shhh, don’t tell on me for how long ago these pictures were taken)

I love the patterned papers included in the collection kit, with the designs already printed in different places on the pages, it fills up your layout easily.

Supplies used in this layout:

Simple Stories 24/7 Collection Kit, Simple Basics Kit, Layered Stickers, and Decorative Metal Brads.

A big congrats to Kymberely Machamer, you are last week’s winner!

Simple Stories Urban Traveler

I was so excited to use today’s steal for a project. Simple Stories Urban Traveler is perfect for a surprise I am working on for my oldest daughter. Shhh this is a secret, but Samantha has been working very hard to put herself through school. She will graduate massage therapy school next spring and we want to surprise her with a trip. Now because of Urban Traveler, I was able to create a fantastic present to tell her about the trip.

I created a mini travel journal she can fill up while on our adventure. The journal pages are perfect for this project. I was able to keep it small but still make enough space to write about our escapades and add photos later.

All of the little sticker pieces included in the collection kit, along with my favorite tool pop dots, added interest and dimension to the little pages. Can I also say I am in love with the alphabet stickers? Perfect size for this type of project.

The cut apart journaling pages along with the layered stickers helped to fill some of the space in the book.

I love the idea of having this book ready to fill as we go. Memories can fade easily as you move on to the next activity, now we can jot down the fun as we have it.

The photo overlays that are also included in the collection kit are so cool. I have them set on the page and only attached by the top so they can be easily lifted and a photo put behind it.

I can’t wait for this trip to celebrate my oldest finishing school. Now to decide where we are going…any suggestions?
