October Afternoon Eggnog | Monday Craft Madness #38

Christmas is just around the corner (say it isn’t so) and in my attempt to get into the holiday spirit I decided to create some things that made me smile. We are all looking for great tags during the holiday season, sometimes we have to create our own. The October Afternoon Eggnog Collection is a great nostalgic collection with some modern twists.  Today’s Monday Craft Madness theme is:

Tags

Create a tag or show us one of your favorite tags. Here’s what I created:

I am kind of in love with the puffy stickers. It brought me right back to my elementary school days when I would trade them with my friends. The traditional October Afternoon elements were great to add to these tags. The die cuts, stickers and enamel shapes, along with my favorite pop dots, made the tags super easy. Check out some close ups.

October Afternoon Public Library | Mid Week Mojo Daisy #9

Daisy – Week 9 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

The nostalgic feel of  October Afternoon’s Public Library Collection made me nostalgic of when all of my kids started school. I was able to find these pictures of my daughter Lizzie’s first day of kindergarten.  I was excitedt o use this collection for today’s Mid Week Mojo I love the look of excitement on her face as she started her learning adventure. Now if only I could turn back the clock.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

If you have ever had a chance to craft with a collection kit from October Afternoon, you know how chalk full of goodness they are. Two sheets of each paper design and three sticker sheets give you enough product to create dozens of projects. I just couldn’t stop with the collection kit though.

I love the Miscellany Packs for each collection, they are chalk full of die cuts, ribbon and buttons; a great item to add dimension to any project.

I love using the brads on projects, they have great images in them but some have tags and other die cuts already attached.

A big congrats to Julie Koets, you are last week’s winner!

October Afternoon Travel Girl | Mid Week Mojo Daisy #3

Daisy – Week 3 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Travel season is upon us and I am having such a fun time playing with all the different travel themed steals we have had lately. When I saw  October Afternoon’s Travel Girl Collection I knew exactly what photos I could use for today’s  Mid Week Mojo. I have had these photos of my girls for years and this collection matches the photos perfectly.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

I have a hard time leaving ‘white’ space on my layouts. For some reason I like to fill up every bit I can with embellishments and patterned papers. This was a challenge for me, but I really like how it turned out. I even did some journal writing on this one.

The included stickers and other embellishments are great to add a little extra flair. From border, letter and number stickers to chipboard and ephemera pieces, the possibilities are really endless with this collection.

I love the pattern papers in this collection, they have a hint of travel but are perfect for other projects as well.  I see myself making cards, other layouts and tons of paper crafting projects with this collection.

I couldn’t help myself from adding a few more embellishments to the page. The buttons in October Afternoon’s collections are some of my favorite. The colors match the collection perfectly and they have fun designs, not just plain buttons.

Look through your past photos and current photos to find some travel memories of your own.

Fantastic Friday | October Afternoon Midway

There’s an amusement park about 20 minutes north of where I grew up. I have so many great memories of trips there with family and friends. October Afternoon’s Midway Collection brings back those fun memories.  I was talking with my sister a few days ago about her summer road trip with her boys visiting amusement parks, and I decided to create a journaling mini album they can take with them to record the fun things that will inevitably happen.

I used an envelope mini album from Farmhouse Paper that already has of the pages there. All that was left for me to do was my favorite thing — decorate the pages!

I left some space for journaling, but since my teenage nephews are men of few words there gets to be more space for the cute stickers, die cuts and buttons. This album has envelops already included for ticket stubs and souvenirs — perfect for the Midway theme and their road trip.

Check out the rest of the pages.

Now that I have made the album, I just need to see if I can stow away on the trip.

October Afternoon Farm Girl | Mid Week Mojo Rose #9

Rose – Week 9 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

I fell in love with October Afternoon Farm Girl the minute I saw it. The nostalgic images reminded me of going to my Great Aunt’s farm up in Idaho as a child. When looking to create today’s  Mid Week Mojo I came up with a little problem, I am not an outdoor girl. My deprived children haven’t spent time at the farm and I don’t have any coordinating photos. I reached out to some scrappy friends and got some pictures from our friend Megan Hebel. I fell in love with the pic of her little one draped over a pumpkin and I had to use it.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

I love all of the bits and pieces that come with October Afternoon’s collections. They make layering and adding dimension smooth and easy.

The included journaling cards are great for journaling or adding a little extra image to your project.

The included alphabet stickers are so bright and happy I just had to use some of them.

A big congrats to Rachel Groner, you are last week’s winner! I love how you are using the Mid Week Mojo Sketches for a mini album.
