My Mind’s Eye Just Sayin’ | Monday Craft Madness #18

I have a problem with my scrapbook supplies. One that I believe all of us scrappers face. I make projects and have bits and pieces left from my collections – TONS OF PIECES. While on Facebook the other day I was reading posts from a group of awesome ladies preparing to get together for a weekend of scrappy fun. They decided to get together to create their own embellishments with their scraps to have on hand for future projects. A giant lightbulb went off, what an awesome idea. So today for Monday Craft Madness I used the Just Sayin’ Collection from My Mind’s Eye to make some embellishments….. So today’s theme is:

Home-Made Embellishment

Pull out your left-over papers, embellishments and punches and make something fun. Here’s what I created:

I used bits of papers & embellishments, some basic kraft die cuts, and my scalloped circle and flower punches. Just layer the pieces you love and have left over from a kit and voila! many little fun embellishments to be used on future projects. Take a closer look.

We would LOVE to see what home-made embellishments you create.

MME Metallic & Wood Necessities | Midweek Mojo Tulip #2

Tulip – Week 2 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

I have fallen in love with My Mind’s Eye’s Wood & Metallic Necessities for today’s Mid Week Mojo I just had to combine both kits to create the layout. I got a bunch of pictures from my co-workers to use for the Mid Week Mojo layouts and I have been waiting to use these awesomely cute pictures of little Zach. This collection matched these photos perfectly and made it so the pictures were front and center.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

The wood and metallic collections are a great neutral backdrop for just about any photo or project. I love the splash of shine the foiled vellum brings to the layout.

Each kit comes with a pack of stickers full of alphabets and words. I love to use these for a little journaling on my layout.

How could I resist these photos of Zach not enjoying his photo shoot that day? The brads and enamel dots in these two kits added great dimension to this layout.

We are going to wait a week to choose and announce a Tulip Week 2 winner. We have had some technical difficulties with blog comments so you all have an extra week to complete the Tulip 2 sketch! Here is the sketch for reference:

My Mind’s Eye Necessities | Monday Craft Madness #13

This was a challenge for me, on multiple levels.  I have never been great with limited colors and patterns. I love to mix up tons of happy colors and designs when I paper craft. Today was a different story. While today’s steal  My Mind’s Eye Necessities -Red & Teal was created to have a great supply of modern basics at your fingertips, I decided to try to use it on one project. This was tough for me, but I kind of love how it turned out. Today ‘s Monday Craft Madness theme is:

Monochromatic

Create something monochromatic; a card, a layout or some other paper-crafting project. Here’s what I created:

This is a canvas approximately 12″ x 18″ and I wanted to show off this adorable newborn photo of baby Zachary. I love the patterns and colors of the papers in this collection and the fact that the color on the vellum papers is foiled – what is better than that? Maybe the glitter monogram alphas and the glitter washi tape, not much more in the world is better than that.

I tried three or four times to set the papers and embellishments to my liking and then I just decided to go for it. Stuck everything down and started to embellish. All of the texture and dimension with one color scheme has made me so happy. I wasn’t sure I would love this project, but in the end I may have to steal baby Zachary so I can keep this canvas.

My Mind’s Eye Market Street Ashbury Heights | Mid Week Mojo Daffodil #6

Daffodil – Week 6 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Due to some illness we have a recycled  Mid Week Mojo of sorts. Best thing about that is we get to see our friend and fan Brenda Smith  guest sketching today and showing off her amazing talent again! For those of you who may have tried this sketch in the past, I can’t wait to see what you come up with this time!

A couple months ago, I came across some photos of My Mind’s Eye’s Market Street collection. When I saw all the gold foil accents to the papers, I was instantly in love. Imagine my giddiness when I found out I would get to work with this gorgeous paper for today’s Mid Week Mojo  I used the Ashbury Heights collection. The colors were so sunny and bright, not to mention that my three favorite colors are in this collection: aqua, coral, and gold! I had some pictures from my daughter’s recent 4th birthday that I knew would fit the color scheme perfectly.

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

I decided to use stars instead of the circles and layered and stitched them to give them a little dimensional effect.
There was so much good stuff in this collection that I couldn’t stop at just a layout. I also made a Project Life page using the 3×4 cards, the 6×6 pad, the chipboard buttons and accents, enamel dots, and cardstock stickers. The 3×4 cards made this spread come together so easily.
I was inspired when I saw the Ready to Frame Art Prints with gold foil accents and decided I need to make a wall hanging. I used the print with 9 circles laid out in a grid and took a heart punch and layered multiple hearts and then stitched. To finish it off, I added a flair button to the gold foil circle.
I really enjoyed working with this paper and I can almost guarantee that you will not regret buying this stuff. It is SO much prettier in person. If you would like to find out more about me, please come check out my Instagram at or my blog at . Thank you so much for having me as your MWM hostess today! I look forward to seeing what you all create!
