My Mind’s Eye Now & Then Dorothy and Mildred | Mid Week Mojo Pansy #9

Pansy - Week 9 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Some things always make me nostalgic and think of my grandparents. Home made ice cream and water skiing remind me of my grandparents on my mother’s side. When I see peonies blooming in a well manicured garden reminds me of my grandmother on my father’s side.  My Mind’s Eye Now & Then Dorothy and Mildred is so beautiful with the flowers and vintage feel, I just had to find a photo of my grandma for today’s Mid Week Mojo

Here is the layout:

Here is the sketch:

As always, I love all of the embellishments that My Mind’s Eye has to offer, from chipboard pieces to cardstock stickers, decorative brads to enamel dots, it’s easy to find what you may be looking for.

I wanted to use some of the 3×4 cards included in the mega kit, most of them are for current memory making, which is awesome but I loved the snapshots card for this layout.

The word, label and alpha stickers always have just the right sentiment for any project you are working on.

The flair buttons are cool. Not just pieces to add to a paper-crafting project, they actually have a pin background so we can wear them like the broaches my grandma used to wear.

A big congrats to Kim Cheladyn, you are last week’s winner!

My Mind’s Eye Now & Then | Monday Craft Madness #31

Today for Monday Craft Madness we have a treat. Laurel Seabrook is a fantastic Designer on the My Mind’s Eye design team. She created the most awesome cards using  Now & Then Milo & Izzy Collections to make some teacher cards. I for one am thrilled that my kids are back to school soon and getting them through each year is always smoother if they have a great teacher…. So today’s theme is:

Back to School

Check out the projects and Laurel’s blog post from the My Mind’s Eye Blog.

Hi everyone, Laurel here. As a teacher I was quite happy to get the assignment of teacher cards! I am a sucker for anything school related and that includes notebook or ledger type of paper.

One thing I love to is use non-themed collections for themed cards and I thought the Now and Then collections would work perfectly for this assignment. I started with the Now and Then Milo collection to create a couple of simple masculine cards.

Easy to do with layering of the paper, chipboard and stickers. I then chose to create a card using the Now and Then Izzy as I thought the map paper would be perfect for a teacher card.

I put my Silhouette to work and die cut an apple and a frame for this fun card and once again went to work layering. I thought I was done but then the Cut & Paste Flair was calling my name so I dug into it as well.

Supplies:Now & Then- Milo:  6 X 6 pad; Friends Accent Stickers; Documented Chipboard; Now & Then-Izzy: 6 X 6 pad; Good Times 3 X 4 pack; Cut & Paste- Flair: 6 X 6 pad; Today 5X7 Sticker Sheet; Wow Chipboard Stickers

My Mind’s Eye Chalk Studio II | Monday Craft Madness #29

In a few months I will be celbrating my 20th wedding anniversary. (I know it’s shocking as I seem so young.) I have been wanting to work on a project as a gift for the hubby and when I saw Steal Name It was the perfect collection for a little journal album I can give my husband. Today for Monday Craft Madness I started a mini remembrance album….. So today’s theme is:

Mini Album

Create something mini or show us your favorite mini album. Here’s what I created:

I found a little mini album with a chipboard storage box in my stash. I covered the box and the mini album with the B-sides of the 12×12 papers. I love how they are chalkboard on the front and bright bold colors on the back.

Inside the little 3×3 sheet protectors are the perfect size to add little love notes I have collected over the past 20 years. I am excited to fill the album with those notes…now to just remember where I hid them.

Sneak Peeks From Our Favorite Brands

Last week I was able to go to a little trade show, right here in Salt Lake City. I have been in and around the crafting world for over a decade and this is the first time I was able to attend a show without boarding an airplane first. This was a small show and closed to the public, so I thought I would show a little of what I was able to see from some of our favorite brands. (Please excuse some of my iPhone photos)

My Mind’s Eye

Bo Bunny

Echo Park & Carta Bella Paper

Silhouette - I’m loving what they are doing with fabric.

Graphic45

Lawn Fawn

Simple Stories

And last but definitely not least…

Teresa Collins

I have been trying to pick a favorite for days now, but I just can’t.  Do you have a favorite? Let us know!

My Mind’s Eye Christmas in July | Monday Craft Madness #27

Using the Christmas in July theme this month, I am getting the Christmas Spirit more and more. Visions of presents, Santa, ornaments, holly and trees just make me smile. I thought I would get a head start on my gift tags. Today for Monday Craft Madness I used My Mind’s Eye Christmas in July – Mistletoe Magic to make….. So today’s theme is:

Tags

Create a tag, show us your favorite tag, or create something Christmas-ey or Holiday-ey. Here’s what I created:

I love all of the different papers and embellishments in this kit. With the stickers, chipboard, washi tape and decorative brads, the layering came easy on these tags.

I found a few things from my own stash; ribbons, flowers and glitter glue, and lace tape, but with those few things I think the tags came out awesome.
