Crate Paper Open Road | Monday Craft Madness #42

A couple of months ago I was able to go on a little road trip with my two daughters to see a One Direction concert in California. It was a great time as they are getting older and may fly out of our nest at any time. When I saw the  Crate Paper Open Road Collection I decided to make a sort of mood board/bucket list. Hopefully we can take more road trips before my girls actually grow up all the way. Creating this  Monday Craft Madness was so fun as I imagined road trips across the country with my daughters. So today’s theme is:

Bucket List

Create something that shows off your bucket list. It can be a layout, a mini album or a wall hanging. Here’s what I created:

Our bucket list just started and with the binder rings we can keep adding to our list. I can’t wait for this summer and the start of our adventures.

First up is Fenway Park in Boston. Samantha is a huge baseball fan and the Rex Sox in particular. Our second stop is the Mall of America in Minnesota. I have been lucky enough to be there several times teaching at scrapbooking events. Samantha has always wanted to go with me and it has never worked out.  Now that she is older, we can totally plan the trip.

Lifestyle Crafts Evolution Advanced | Monday Craft Madness #41

Since today starts Gift Week here at Steals.com, we wanted to show off the new Lifestyle Crafts Evolution Advanced Die Cutting System to Now, this die cutting machine has super cool advanced features we want to share with you all. So today for Monday Craft Madness we don’t have a typical theme, we just wanted to share…

The new Evolution Advanced includes the following features:

  • Suction cup feet for no slip cranking
  • Easy fold up design for lightweight, on-the-go crafting
  • Extra built in storage to organize crafting supplies
  • Optional hand crank or motor system

Check out some things you can make with this awesome machine:

With the simplicity of a turn dial system, crafters can die-cut, letterpress and emboss without the hassle of figuring out which mat combinations to use. Instead, the adjustable dial system not only adapts to each craft medium, but specifically to the thickness of the paper also. “There’s no longer a need to use multiple mat combinations for each type of project, and no other tool out there does all of that,” ecstatically explains We R Memory Keepers President Andrew Hiller. He continues, “The new Evolution Advanced literally changes how crafters create with one tool, one mat, and one turn dial system, so they can focus on creating.”

The Evolution Advanced has an attachable motor (sold separately). This gives crafters the option of converting the Evolution Advanced into a motorized tool or leaving it as a hand crank system, by simply snapping and locking the handle or motor in place, and then storing the handle in one of its side storage compartments.

The Evolution Advanced is lightweight and portable with a fold up or fold down design, making it perfect for stay-at-home or on-the-go crafting. When the Evolution Advanced is folded down, the suction feet on its underside securely hold the tool in place. The Evolution Advanced is also compatible with most leading brand die-cuts, embossing folders, and platforms.

We R Memory Keepers It Factor | Monday Craft Madness #40

When we get a collection to feature on ScrapbookSteals.com one of my favorite things to do is scour the internet trying to see what brilliant crafters have done with the product. The process always simultaneously inspires me and makes me feel lame because they are always better than I can do. When I was looking at We R Memory Keepers’ It Factor I loved all of the really cool embellishments including wooden die cuts, clear acrylic stickers and plastic alphabet blocks. I found an awesome blog post over on the We R Blog by their design team member Aly Dosdall that shows off these awesome embellishments and what you can do to them. So today’s for Monday Craft Madness theme is:

Home-Made Embellishments

Create or alter your own embellishments. Layer stickers, cut die cuts out of paper, or just alter some of your favorites. Check out the layout Aly created:

The layout of Aly’s daughter’s new glasses is bright and fun, but look a little closer at all of the home made embellishments. With the “teal trunk” paper from the collection she used her circle cutter to make die cuts.

She then decided to fancy up the acrylic stickers to help them stand out a little more by using a coloring tool and permanent ink.

Aly also used the positive and negative alphabet blocks for her title. I love the eclectic look these letters add to the layout.

Teresa Collins Something Wonderful | Monday Craft Madness #39

We all love paper collections that have a specific theme. Birthday, Halloween or Christmas are some of my favorites. Sometimes it’s great to find a collection without a specific theme, one you can use for any project. Today for Monday Craft Madness I used Teresa Collins Something Wonderful to make a mini album to celebrate all of the wonderful things in our lives….. So today’s theme is:

Mini Album

Create something a mini album or a project about the wonderful things in your life. Here’s what I created:

I used two pieces of chipboard for the front and back covers and then just used my handy scoring tool and some cardstock to create the binding for this album.

I tried to leave some space for photos and journaling in this album so I can add things as we go along through this crazy life.

This collection was created without a specific theme in mind, just something that celebrates the wonderfulness in each of our lives. Hopefully we can all find something wonderful to celebrate.

October Afternoon Eggnog | Monday Craft Madness #38

Christmas is just around the corner (say it isn’t so) and in my attempt to get into the holiday spirit I decided to create some things that made me smile. We are all looking for great tags during the holiday season, sometimes we have to create our own. The October Afternoon Eggnog Collection is a great nostalgic collection with some modern twists.  Today’s Monday Craft Madness theme is:

Tags

Create a tag or show us one of your favorite tags. Here’s what I created:

I am kind of in love with the puffy stickers. It brought me right back to my elementary school days when I would trade them with my friends. The traditional October Afternoon elements were great to add to these tags. The die cuts, stickers and enamel shapes, along with my favorite pop dots, made the tags super easy. Check out some close ups.
