Authentique Accomplished | Monday Craft Madness #1

It’s a new year and we as a family are looking forward to some exciting things. My oldest will no longer be a teen, my youngest will turn 16 and my middle is graduating high school. Needless to say high school has been a challenge for my Lizzie and we are so excited and proud of her every day accomplishments.  Accomplished by Authentique Paper  is a great collection that helps celebrate not only your big accomplishments, but your every day accomplishments. So today for Monday Craft Madness I decided to create a little book about all the things I have seen Lizzie accomplish over the past four years, hopefully it will help her see just how proud of her we are….. So today’s theme is:

Mini Journal Album

Create either a mini album or a mini journal album for someone you love. Here’s what I created:

I started with her 9th grade year, which is still in Junior High for us. She got to ‘graduate’ from 9th grade and loved it.

I left spots for photos as all of her favorite pics of her and her friends are on her phone, hopefully we can get some printed.

We had a rough time Lizzie’s sophomore year and she came through it all and we are so proud of her.

I love the idea of giving her notes for each year of her high school career, hopefully she will look back on this and love it as much as we love her.

I need to add one more year to this album as she finishes her high school career in a few months I can imagine myself crying as I write that one.

SEI 1-Hour Album Kits | Monday Craft Madness #45

As we are looking into the new year we all like to make some sort of resolution; eating better, exercising, spending more time with the people we love. As a crafter & scrapbooker I always seem to have a resolution that surrounds keeping up on my scrapbooking. In order to help us keep up today’s steal is a perfect place to find quick and easy scrapbook kits. So, today for Monday Craft Madness I used SEI’s 1-Hour Album Kits to make a mini album of little Liam’s first year…. So today’s theme is:

Catch Up

Finish something you have been working on, catch up on last month’s photos or work on that pile of cards you haven’t finished yet. Here’s what I created:

I sat down to my table and clocked my time. It actually really did only take an hour, a pair of scissors and my adhesive to finish 20 layouts. All of the pieces are pre-cut and ready to go. I left the journaling and some of the embellishing off so Liam’s mom can finish up the album.

Here’s a couple more close ups – I just need to get with Alyssa and find a few more pictures to make this album complete. One whole album, one hour, amazing.

So if you are ever looking for a way to catch up on your scrapbooking as quickly as possible, SEI’s 1-Hour Album Kits are definitely a great way to go!

We R Memory Keepers Punch Boards | Monday Craft Madness #45

Since working in the crafting world friends and family always seem to pick me for projects. This year my project is to create little gifts for all of the grandkids for the family Christmas party. So today for Monday Craft Madness I was excited tot ry to use the  We R Memory Keepers Punch Boards and Clearly Bold Acetate Paper to create some cute boxes for little gifts. Luckily for me, someone else has to buy the little gifts. So today’s theme is:

Clear

Create something with a clear element; a shaker box, a die cut or an entire clear box. Here’s what I created:

I chose the Candy Box Punch Board and I love the different sizes you can create with this board.

I have to admit that punching through the acetate was a little challenging, but I love the result.  I can’t wait for the kids to try to steal each other’s presents since they can sort of see through the packaging.

The boxes were actually pretty easy to make, these punch boards are genius and once you get the hang of it you can create boxes, candy boxes, gift bags, and pillow boxes for days.  Instructions for all of the punch boards can be found here. Go create!

Teresa Collins Candy Cane Lane | Monday Craft Madness #44

The holidays are different for me. I used to love wrapping presents and surprising my kids. Well they are all now teenagers and the fun and magic have dwindled a little bit. It seems all they want for Christmas this year is gift cards.  Not terribly fun for me to give, but if that’s what they want I guess I will have to play along. Today for Monday Craft Madness I tried to use a creative way to give my daughter gift cards from some of her favorite places. I used Teresa Collins’ Candy Cane Lane Collection to make this fun gift card holder….. So today’s theme is:

Gift-Giving

I’ve used this process to create mini albums before, this time the gift cards fit perfectly. I was able to create the base of this mini album with ONE sheet of 12×12 cardstock. Here’s what I created:

Here is a pattern you can use to create something similar. Score and fold along the dotted lines and cut along the solid line.  You are scoring horizontally 2 inches from the top and 2 inches from the bottom, and across the middle at 6 inches. Then scoring vertically every three inches. Cut along your middle score from the side to the first score at the 3 inch mark.

Then simply fold up the 2″ flaps and then in half at your 6″ score. Fold either side of the paper accordion style. Use your favorite adhesive to hold the whole thing together, slip in your gift cards and embellish how you like. Voila! – a perfect gift for a picky teenager.

I also added some of the 3×4 cards that come in this collection to the inside of the pockets but you don’t need to do that. I only decided to do that because the paper I chose had words and they ended up upside down when I folded up my mini album.

Hopefully she will like it.  We would love to see and hear about some of your hand made gift giving ideas – the holidays are getting closer and closer!

Echo Park Through the Year | Monday Craft Madness #43

When we had our retreat a few months ago I was able to travel with some lovely ladies around to see some of our local manufacturers. We went to visit Echo Park and Madison showed us some new collections. Their Through the Year Collection twas one of those. I got excited about the calendar theme of this collection. I dreamed of making calendars for grandma for Christmas, a birthday calendar and a goal calendar. I decided to day to make the start of a goal-themed calendar so I have something to look to for next year. So today’s theme is:

Goal-oriented

Create something that showcases a goal you have achieved or hope to achieve.   Here’s what I created:

I am hoping I can flip through this calendar each month of next year and accomplish a goal I planned ahead. Everyone wish me luck! Check out some more of the pages.

Here’s hoping that looking at something bright and happy will help me accomplish some of my goals for next year.
