Simple Stories Scrapbooking in a Snap | Monday Craft Madness #25

Simple Stories has brought Scrapbooking in a Snap to a whole new level.  The Snap Pages and Memorabilia Pockets helped create a quick and easy family album.  I chose the Harvest Lane collection with the 6×6 paper pad, Snap Pages and Memorabilia Pockets.  The reduced designs in the 6×6 pad are perfect for layering.  That is this week’s Monday Craft Madness Theme:

Layering

Layering is a great way to get more color and pattern to your projects.  Recently we had an awesome how to from Charissa Miller showing how she layers on her projects.  I was a bit inspired and created this family mini album.  Introducing the Perry Family…

Perryfamily-3156

I used different sizes and shapes of different patterns from the 6×6 pads to create the layers around the photo.  The 6×8 Snap Pages are the perfect size for this album of family pictures.

Perryfamily-3151

Use the Memorabilia Pockets to add extra tags, notes or other items to your album

Perryfamily-3152

The patterns on the Snap Pages make for easy pages.  Use the base pattern as one of your layers.

Now go get layering!  It’s a fast and easy way to add interest to your projects.

Pebbles Candy Dots | Monday Craft Madness #24

Candy makes every day a little better, right?  With Pebbles Candy Dots you can make your projects a little bit better too!  Choose from Classic, Glitter or Crystal to add that little extra dimension to your projects.  This brings us to our Monday Craft Madness Theme:

Dimension

Add some extra dimension to a project.  Try some of the ideas in this post, use pop dots, buttons, flowers…whatever strikes your fancy!

We are lucky today to have Stephanie Eaken as our guest designer.  Her style is inspiring, I am going to try some of her ideas in my own projects!

My name is Stephanie Eaken and I am a 40 year-old stay-at-home mom. I have two kids who keep me busy, entertained, and scrapping! I love all things related to scrapbooking. I started scrapping about 9 years ago when my oldest was a baby and have not stopped! I intended to make a book of her first year only. Well, there was no looking back for me once I began. I was hooked!

 Monday Craft Madness Stephanie Eaken

I look forward to my scrappy time in my space in our basement. I would describe my style as eclectic. I love trying new and different things and techniques. I also tend to like the hot, new trends. I am always evolving. I scrapbook 12×12 pages, mini albums, and occassionally make cards and OTPs. I love working with kits, sketches and online challenges! Paper and glue have been longtime friends of mine!

Monday Craft Madness Stephanie Eaken thank u

The first is a thank you note. I used butterflies punched from various scrap papers to create a bit of a mosaic heart. The alphas are MME from the “Lush” collection. I used the Pebbles candy dots in various spots on the heart to cover empty spaces & in the sentiment of the card.

Monday Craft Madness Stephanie Eaken 4 You tag

We have several family & friends’ birthdays coming up this month, so I figured a gift tag was in order! I kept it pretty simple to be applicable to either gender. I used papers from Pink Paislee & fussy cut the doiles from a sheet of paper by Echo Park. The alphas are American Crafts Thickers. I adhered the Pebbles Candy Dots around the perimeter of the larger paper doily and placed one in the center of the butterfly. I also used a larger clear dot in the center of the doily. LOVE them!!

My third project is a layout of my daughter & one of our dogs. I started by placing the doily under the patterned paper (from Studio Calico); I punched 2-inch circles from coordinating scrap papers. The butterflies were also punched from scrap papers (I love using up my scraps!). I then began the layering process & added Pebbles’ candy dots to the center of all the butterflies. I also scattered them randomly around the fiished page to add more color!

Thanks Stephanie, for sharing your talents with us.  I love all of the dimension great and layers on the projects.  Visit Stephanie’s blog for more projects, you will definitely come back inspired.

Happy Birthday BabySteals! | Monday Craft Madness #23

We all love a party and this week at STEALS.com we are having a doozie.  To celebrate BabySteals 5th birthday, we used Graphic 45′s Little Darlings Collection to help start the festivities.  Our Monday Craft Madness Theme this week is:

Babies!

Create something either with a baby theme, for a baby, or a layout with a photo of when you were a baby.

Now when having a birthday celebration we need to start with invitations and decorations.  Check out the decorations the party!

Party Decor Graphic 45 Main

I created a banner to celebrate this awesome milestone.  I can’t believe BabySteals is already 5 years old!

The invitations to the party are simple, but with a little added extra.  Don’t be afraid to have each of your hand made invitations a little different.  This way you can use up your stickers and embellishments and save a little money at the same time.

My favorite item is the party favors.  While crafting, I asked my daughter (who doesn’t scrapbook ) to help she kept coming up with crazy ideas.  ”How about we just put all of these things in a pile and tie a bow around it all” was her best advice.  Well while she was playing with the Fancy Pants Chipboard Banner, we came up with creating some party favor holders.  I am kind of in love.

Enjoy the celebration and check out this Birthday Week page all week for fun and excitement from all STEALS.com sites!

Come back tomorrow for a fantastic How-To from Charity Hotrum!

We R Memory Keepers 6×6 Printed Albums | Monday Craft Madness #22

We R Memory Keepers’ 6×6 Albums are of the highest quality.  It was an easy choice when I was deciding what to do for my mom for Mother’s Day.  Moms and grandmas love pictures of their kids and grand kids. I wanted to put a little album together with all of the great-grand kids and a 6×6 album from We R Memory Keepers is the perfect size for this project! Now for our Monday Craft Madness theme:

Gift Giving!

Create something you will give to someone else, create a layout or mini album about a gift you received, make a card you will send to someone special, anything you can think of!

For my gift for my mom, I chose the Retrospect 6×6 album because of the gender-neutral color scheme and pattern.

I decided to add to the cover to make it more personal.  Don’t be afraid to personalize your albums with papers and embellishments.

6×6 pages are quick and easy to make.  With our standard photo size being 4×6, a little trimming, matting and a few embellishments are all you will need to complete your inner pages.

These are three of the great-grand kids…aren’t they cute?

Two Berry Creative Twine | Monday Craft Madness #21

We all have staple items in our scrapbook stash: adhesive, cardstock, buttons, etc.  Twine has quickly become one of those staples for me. And I’m sure  Two Berry Creative Twine will become a staple in your stash too!  I tried to show off a few of the dozens and dozens of possible uses on some tags.  This brings us to our Monday Craft Madness theme

Tags!

Tags can be used alone, on a layout, on a card, as part of a home decor project.  The possibilities are endless.  Here are some sample tags I created using Two Berry Creative Twine.

Two Berry Creative Twine Tags

On the Christmas tag, I wrapped the twine around the tag and used it to hang the ornament.  On the flower tag I used the twine to hang the banner and for the bows.

Two Berry Creative Scrapbook Tags 2

On this tag I made a pom pom with the twine for the dot in the ‘hi.’

Two Berry Creative Scrapbook Tags 3

On this tag I used the twine to wrap around the little picture.

Two Berry Creative Twine Tag 4

Let your imagination run wild and make a tag, either alone or as part of another project.
