My second daughter is about to graduate from High School. I know, I know…no way can I be that old, yet I am. It’s made me pretty nostalgic lately, but my main emotion is just pride in my little Lizzie. She has worked so hard and the end is in sight. She is a pretty mellow kid and not really wanting a party, however I am planning something. So today for Monday Craft Madness I used Jen Hadfield’s Homegrown Collection to make a celebratory banner….. So today’s theme is:
Create something that you can use for a banner. These days they are not just for celebrating, Home decor is an awesome way to use home-made banners. Here’s what I created:
Luckily in this collection there is already a great banner all ready to decorate. The black background and white letters look a little chalkboard-ey but ripe for decorating. I kind of love how it turned out. I backed each letter with some of the 6×6 paper pad and added embellishments. Check out some close ups.
The big paper clips and the gold dipped tags are so fun. I can’t wait to find other ways to use the rest of the collection!
