Simple Stories Cozy Christmas | Monday Craft Madness #33

While all of Simple Stories’ collections are perfect for preserving memories, both in the traditional 12×12 format and the pocket page style, I noticed something fun about  Simple Stories Cozy Christmas  The pages, cards and other embellishments are perfect of other projects. One of my co-workers, Kerianne, has an adorable son, Mason. If you frequent any of the Steals.com websites you have probably seen his happy face. I decided to help him a little bit with his letter to Santa for this year. I can’t imagine Santa refusing Mason’s requests if he receives an entire mini album. So for today’s Monday Craft Madness I created a mini album letter to Santa…..  today’s theme is:

Mini Albums

Create an interesting twist on a mini album, like a letter to someone you love. Here’s what I created:

I love how the 6×8 pages included in this collection are all sorts of sizes and shapes. It offers a kinds of dimension and texture when you first look at the album. I added a few of the bits and pieces die cuts and enamel dots to the cover.

We figured a photo of mason will help santa remember who he is.

The chipboard pieces match up with the designs beautifully.

The die cut pages add a little bit of interest as you thumb through the album.

We used one of the 3×4 journaling cards for Mason’s present request list.

Santa can also keep track of where Mason will be all through December, just so they don’t miss each other.

And finally, Mason’s letter to Santa. It’s important to list all of the good things you have done throughout the year to get on Santa’s good side.

There’s room in this album to add more items, we are going to add lists from other members of Mason’s family. I just love the idea of sending a letter to someone you love in a mini album format. All of the care and love can flow through your creativity.

Teresa Collins Designs Masquerade Party | Monday Craft Madness #32

I realized that we have not done a color challenge in quite a long time. I normally look to projects to be a certain type of project rather than a certain color, but I have an awesome friend who’s favorite color is orange, so in honor of  her, the color of the day is Orange. Today we are reviewing a project I made last year with Teresa Collins’ Masquerade Party ….. Remember today’s theme is:

Orange

Create something with orange, or about a favorite orange thing, or even about oranges. Here’s what I created:

I was able to make this mini album using the papers from this collection as well as the file folders, you could also use the treat bags as pages.

All of  the chipboard pieces, stickers and die cuts make for easy embellishing.

I love creating things earlier than you need them, I feel so accomplished like I actually finished something.

A little bit of ribbon and some rings and ta-da and album made in a snap. Check out the rest of the pages:

My Mind’s Eye Chalk Studio II | Monday Craft Madness #29

In a few months I will be celbrating my 20th wedding anniversary. (I know it’s shocking as I seem so young.) I have been wanting to work on a project as a gift for the hubby and when I saw Steal Name It was the perfect collection for a little journal album I can give my husband. Today for Monday Craft Madness I started a mini remembrance album….. So today’s theme is:

Mini Album

Create something mini or show us your favorite mini album. Here’s what I created:

I found a little mini album with a chipboard storage box in my stash. I covered the box and the mini album with the B-sides of the 12×12 papers. I love how they are chalkboard on the front and bright bold colors on the back.

Inside the little 3×3 sheet protectors are the perfect size to add little love notes I have collected over the past 20 years. I am excited to fill the album with those notes…now to just remember where I hid them.

Simple Stories December Documented | Monday Craft Madness #28

There’s nothing like planning ahead, or even just planning sometimes. Being able to get started on my December Daily album in July is somewhat of a luxury for anyone. I was lucky enough that today’s steal is  Simple Stories December Documented This collection is perfect for a December Daily project so for Monday Craft Madness I got started on my album…. Today’s theme is:

Mini Album

Create a mini album or share with us your favorite mini album. You could even get ahead and start your own December Daily album. Here’s what I created:

I was able to use some of the embellishments from My Mind’s Eye Mistletoe Magic collection as well, the colors and tones matched perfectly with this Simple Stories collection.

The 3×4 cards included in this collection are perfect for this project. I love that there are cards with numbers 1-25 to help move the process of this album along easily. Check out some more of the pages:

Fancy Pants Nautical

As you are reading this blog post, I am in sunny Las Vegas with my middle daughter Lizzie. We took a road trip for the weekend to attend a concert. Part of my planning for our girls trip was to create this journaling album that I can fill out during the trip. My daughter is quite funny and says the funniest things and having a place to document it all will be fantastic. The Fancy Pants Nautical Collection was the perfect travel-themed collection for this project and the mini brag book…well how many times can I say perfect?  Check it out:

I love the title on the cover, it fits famously with our concert-going weekend. The little envelope on the front will hold our receipts and trinkets from the trip.

These mini brag books are so cool, in addition to pages with lines for journaling there are plastic sheet protectors in two different sizes so you can add the photos easily. I tried to think of the things that would happen during our road trip and pre-plan some pages.

I liked decorating the back of the journaling pages as well, makes for a fancier journal.

Did you see what concert we are going to attend? I am so excited.

We will for sure make some time to go to the pool while in the sunshine. This page that is titled ‘Pool Time’ is also a pocket page where I can save more trinkets from our trip.
