4 Scrapbook Layouts for Labor Day

Labor Day, the unofficial end to summer, is upon us. This 3-day weekend is always a fun time filled with family, friends, good food and drinks. It’s also a nice time to relax, enjoy some time at home and catch up on scrapbooking. Since Labor Day is such an American holiday, we pulled some of our favorite Red, White & Blue layouts to share with you. Share your Labor Day designs with us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #STEALandTELL.

Scrapbook Idea 1

The Doodlebug Design Americana almost instantly puts us in the summer mood. There’s something about Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day that just scream “American Summer” and we love creating layouts based around these family fun holidays.

Scrapbook Idea 2

There’s so much to love about this Let Freedom Ring Collection from American Crafts Pebbles. It’s great for making DIY decorations to cards to layouts.

Scrapbook Idea 3

Perfect for your summertime celebrations, this Red, White and Blue Collection from We R Memory Keepers is good for everything – from party decorations to keeping your memories after the celebration.

Scrapbook Idea 4

We love the Authentique Paper’s Pride Collection for Labor Day themed layouts. It was perfect to capture my youngest having a blast at a local parade.

My Mind’s Eye Frightful | Monday Craft Madness #25

One of the hardest things for me each and every week is trying to decide what to create for the weekly Monday Craft Madness I usually lean towards cards, albums, tags…things like that. Today I wanted to go a little outside my own personal box and to my surprise I am happy with the end result. I used My Mind’s Eye’s Frightful Collection to make a wreath for my door. I kind of love it and love even more that I will have tons of papers & embellishments to still create cards, tags and more….. So today’s theme is:

Home Decor

Create something you can hang in your home and enjoy. Here’s what I created:

I added some tulle from my fabric stash to take away from the spookiness of the wreath. (Not that it’s really spooky) I love the chipboard pieces included in the kit, they are so sturdy and super sticky.

The enamel shapes in the form of bats – how could you not love that?

I can’t even handle how much I love that there are mustaches on the pumpkins and skeletons, brings a sense of unexpected whimsy.

Fancy Pants Christmas Collections | Monday Craft Madness #23

Can you believe it? Christams is just 23 weeks away!  Normally I am the queen of procrastination but I decided to use Today’s Steal Fancy Pants Christmas Collections to get started on my Christmas cards. So today’s Monday Craft Madness theme is:

Cards

Create some cards to use now or in the future. Finishing a set brings such a sense of accomplishment. Here’s what I created:

I used the Oh Deer collection kit and I LOVE how many different papers were included.  Traditional looking holiday papers as well as awesome solids and less-holilday-like patterns. You can really use much of this collection for just about any project.

Check out some close ups of the cards, I hope you will be inspired to create some cards of your own.

Even though it is Birthday Party time around here, a celebration is a celebration right? Today for Monday Craft Madness I wanted to share a cool idea from one of Teresa Collins’ design team members Cheri Piles. She used Teresa Collins Tinsel & Company to make a beautiful non-Christmas wreath for her door….So today’s theme is:

Switch it Up

Create something unexpected. Use a themed collection to create something non-theme specific. Here’s what Cheri created:

Cheri started off with some flat wreath bases from her local craft store.

The wreath came together pretty quickly and easily here are the first steps:

  1. Spray the two bases and star ornament white
  2. Add some clear or white glitter to the smaller wreath
  3. Set all three pieces aside to dry
  4. Cut 8 strips 1 1/2″ and 8 strips 1 1/4″
  5. Cut each strip 6″ in length for a total of 16 strips each
  6. Use the Teresa Collins Stapler or another stapler to assemble your paper chain

Once your pieces are dry take some invisible thread and hang the small wreath to the center of the large base and glue your star wood ornament to the center of the small one.

Tie your ribbon on and hot glue the larger pieces onto the base. If you like a little extra bling add some stars from the sequins package to finish it off.
