The cardstock stickers in this collection, as with all of Authentique’s collections are thick and wonderful, perfect for titles and embellishments alike.

Since this is such a beautiful collection I wanted to share a couple more projects Heather made with this collection. Click through to her blog to see a closer look and a step-by-step to the beautiful wall art.

We R Memory Keepers Jet Set | Mid Week Mojo Pansy #5

Pansy – Week 5 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Today marks the last day of our month long guest sketches from the fabulous Brenda Smith I for one am sad to see her go, but I have loved each and every sketch she has created for us. This week she used We R Memory Keepers Jet Set Collection for her last Mid Week Mojo of July.

Good morning everyone. Today marks the last week of my guest sketching and I want to thank each of you for having me and for playing along. I have truly enjoyed myself and have loved seeing what you’ve all created. I must admit that today’s collection, WRMK’s Jet Set, is definitely a favorite of mine. You don’t often see purple in scrapbook supplies and I think the purple, blue, green, and orange combination is unexpectedly gorgeous. It’s perfect for masculine or feminine projects, travel and non-travel themed pages both. And because today is my last week, I’ve decided to provide two different sketches and layouts, Pansy 5A and Pansy 5B. Choose one or the other or do both for double the entries into this week’s prize drawing :)

First, Pansy 5A:

And my layout:

My lovely friend Melissa took this (auto-timed) picture of us while we were visiting a garden in downtown SLC during last year’s Scrapbook Steals crop. I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to scrap it and when I saw these papers and embellishments, I knew it was time. I love all the globe-themed embellishments.

I love how the stickers have a slight dimension and texture to them.

My second sketch, Pansy 5B:

And my layout:

A ton of layering is not usually my style but there are so many fun patterned papers in this collection that I couldn’t let any go to waste. I enjoyed putting a bunch of patterns together to get a graphic punch without feeling like the page was overwhelmed.

I cut out some tags from a patterned paper for embellishments and I think it turned out perfectly. And aren’t those chipboard alphas fabulous?!

As always, I’m looking forward to seeing your creations. Thanks again for having me this month!

-Brenda

Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas | Mid Week Mojo Pansy #4

Pansy – Week 4 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

As we continue our month long inspiration from super scrapper Brenda Smith, we get to see how she used Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas for today’s Mid Week Mojo

• • • • •

Good morning! Today, I’m working with the gorgeous, traditional Christmas line from Fancy Pants, Merry Little Christmas. With so many different takes on Christmas paper these days, it’s refreshing to see the traditional colors and imagery.

First, the sketch:

And the layout:

Christmas is certainly my favorite holiday (besides my birthday!) and it’s funny that I take so many pictures leading up to the day, but then have a severe lack of pictures of Christmas Day proper. Guess I must’ve just been living in the moment. ;) So these pictures aren’t the greatest, but they show what both my kids got from Santa and that little Santa embellishment was so cute, I HAD to use him.

I used the red corrugated paper to mat my photos and I feel like it gave it a good amount of dimension and texture. I punched out stars to go over my circles on the right and then layered even more with some of the dimensional embellishments from this line. This layout came together so easily with all the wonderful die cuts and embellishments. As always, I look forward to seeing what you create with the sketch. Happy scrapping!

Teresa Collins Hello My Name Is | Mid Week Mojo Pansy #3

Pansy – Week 3 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

We have the awesome  Brenda Smith back with us again using Teresa  Collins Hello My Name Is for today’s Mid Week Mojo

• • • • •

Good morning everyone! Brenda here with yet another sketch. I was excited upon seeing Teresa Collins’ “Hello My Name Is” because there are numerous elements that would lend themselves well to Project Life spreads, but what excited me even more was realizing how versatile those elements were. It inspired me to create a sketch that could put some of those 3×4 journal cards to use on a layout.
I have two variations of the sketch today. The first is with a traditional landscape 4×6 photo.
This was initially the direction I was going to go with my layout, but over the weekend my husband and I went on a quick trip to the mountains above our city and I got a great panorama photo that I wanted to scrap. So I modified the sketch a little to include a longer photo.
Here is my layout:
I used Photoshop Elements to size my photo and printed it out on 8.5″x11″ photo paper and trimmed down to size. If you are without photo editing software, you could use a free program such as Picasa to make a landscape 8×10 collage and use the top 2/5ths to insert your panorama and then print at your favorite photo lab. If you need more help figuring out how to print one, feel free to ask in the comments here or on the Scrapbook Steals Facebook page.
I just had to use some of the 3×4 cards so I used one title card and one with journaling space. Also, there’s this perfect sheet of patterned paper full of polaroid frames that I cut up to use in place of the journal spots. I had extra photos that I wanted to include so I thought these frames would be the perfect way to feature them.
I finished off the layout with some of the chipboard stickers, sequins, and enamel dots from this collection. There are so many cute, usable embellishments in this line!
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your creations this week!

Maggie Holmes Styleboard | Mid Week Mojo Pansy #1

Pansy – Week 1 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Here we are in a new month and a new series of Mid Week Mojo. We are very excited that the uber-talented Brenda Smith will be with us all month showing off her talent. Today she used Maggie Holmes Styleboard for today’s Mid Week Mojo.

• • • • •

I am so excited to be back here again today to bring you another sketch. What makes it even more exciting is that I got to work with a collection that I’ve been admiring since I first saw it. Maggie Holmes has such an eclectic, romantic style and her papers are always so much fun to scrap with. That being said, I couldn’t decide which photos I wanted to scrapbook most. So, I made the obvious decision and scrapbooked ALL the photos! I made two 4×6 collages using an app on my phone out of a ton of Spring photos.

First, my sketch:

And then, the resulting layout:

I had a lot of phone creating dimension by stitching down some elements and then peeling up the edges of the paper.

The cork embellishments that come with this collection are the perfect finishing touch. I love the contrast of the frilly, watercolor patterns of the paper to the gritty, natural feel of the cork.

Thank you so much to you all! Happy 4th of July weekend to all of my American friends and belated Happy Canada day to all those north of the border. Hopefully you’ll carve out a little extra time to create this weekend because I’m eager to see what you all come up with!
