Fancy Pants Designs Everyday Circus | Monday Craft Madness #16

Today for Monday Craft Madness  we are excited to bring some projects from Laurel Seabrook, member of Fancy Pants’ Design Team she used Everyday Circus to make some awesome cards. I just fell in love with them when I saw them…. So today’s theme is:

Cards

Create some fun cards or show us some of your favorites. Here’s what Laurel created:

I love how she used the “Posters” 12×12 patterned paper as her base for the cards.  Adding some other papers and embellishments and a little bit of stitching she created some awesome circus-themed cards.

Check out some close-ups of each card. I love how she used the tickets to add a little pizzaz to the cards.

Teresa Collins Tinsel & Company | Monday Craft Madness #15

It’s a party around here at Steals.com this week.  Our sister-site BabySteals.com is turning 7!  That’s right 7 years old! Check out some of the fun stuff planned here.

Even though it is Birthday Party time around here, a celebration is a celebration right? Today for Monday Craft Madness I wanted to share a cool idea from one of Teresa Collins’ design team members Cheri Piles. She used Teresa Collins Tinsel & Company to make a beautiful non-Christmas wreath for her door….So today’s theme is:

Switch it Up

Create something unexpected. Use a themed collection to create something non-theme specific. Here’s what Cheri created:

Cheri started off with some flat wreath bases from her local craft store.

The wreath came together pretty quickly and easily here are the first steps:

  1. Spray the two bases and star ornament white
  2. Add some clear or white glitter to the smaller wreath
  3. Set all three pieces aside to dry
  4. Cut 8 strips 1 1/2″ and 8 strips 1 1/4″
  5. Cut each strip 6″ in length for a total of 16 strips each
  6. Use the Teresa Collins Stapler or another stapler to assemble your paper chain

Once your pieces are dry take some invisible thread and hang the small wreath to the center of the large base and glue your star wood ornament to the center of the small one.

Tie your ribbon on and hot glue the larger pieces onto the base. If you like a little extra bling add some stars from the sequins package to finish it off.

Fancy Pants Nautical | Mid Week Mojo Petunia #10

Petunia – Week 10 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Today we are super excited to welcome back guest sketcher Melissa Dehne on our blog. Today she used Fancy Pants Designs Nautical Collection for today’s Mid Week Mojo She’s such a great scrapbooker I, for one, am thrilled to see more of her work.

Greetings!
Melissa Dehne here and I am glad to be back again today with the Petunia 10 Mid Week Mojo. First of all, this Fancy Pants collection is incredible. It is loaded with so many wonderful options, be sure to take a look at all that you could use to scrapbook with! Choosing which pieces to use was challenging but, oh so fun! I really wanted to include more, but also wanted my layout to look balanced! That must be the reason that I have two more layouts ready to roll using more of the pieces that are available today! Here is the sketch for this week:
The Nautical collection has a summery, seaside, poolside, vacation vibe to it. How is that possible, you ask? I am not sure, but Fancy Pants has got it all figured out. It worked out well that the photos I wanted to use were both seaside and vacation themed. However, with all of the colors, embellishments and papers, the possibilities are plentiful with this collection! Here is my layout:
The Nautical kit includes some awesome 4×6 and 3×5 brag cards which I used for the upper right and lower left quadrants of the layout, as well as the little lighthouse card. I also used the large decorative tags, the title pieces (the “adventure definition” piece), an anchor from the button set, label stickers, as well as one of the toppers included with the kit.
There were several alphabet options on the sticker fundamentals page (FIVE alphas to choose from!) as well as other fun sticker choices! Be sure to look at what this collection all includes because this is only the tip of the iceberg in regard to options for your layout!
I hope that the sketch inspires you to join us this week! I look forward to seeing what you all post! A big thank you to Melodee and ScrapbookSteals for allowing me to create for you this week!
~Melissa

Kaisercraft Beyond the Page Hashtags | Monday Craft Madness #3

Today for Monday Craft Madness We have the fantastically talented Cristine Redmond using Kaisercraft’s Beyond the Page Hashtags to make a project. I am in love with her project and ideas on this one. If you are someone who is trying to choose your word of the year, this is the perfect project for you. Actually I think we all need to pick a word of the year to focus on. Check it out.

Today’s theme is:

Your Word

When Melodee told me what I would be working with today, my brain started churning with ideas!  The first one I worked on was the #relax sign.
I knew I wanted to give it a distressed look to go with some of the decor in my scrap room, so I started by painting it a solid base color.  Once that was dry, I gave it a thick covering of Elmer’s glue.  It can be used to help give the paint a crackle finish.  Before the glue dried, I layered on the white layer of paint.  I didn’t get the glue layer thick enough, so the paint didn’t crackle as much as I had hoped for.  I decided to grab some sand paper and distress it even more.
As a finishing touch, I added some burlap twine tied into a bow as somewhat of a reminder to relax.  Last year, my one little word was “breathe.”  Hopefully seeing this sign in my scrap room will help me remember to not take life too seriously.
My second project was much more involved.  For the #me sign, I wanted to showcase all the things in my life that make me who I am.
My friends, family and hobby fill my life with so many memories.  I included many pictures which show me as a mother, wife, sister, friend, scrapbooker and card maker.
To get my pictures tiny enough to fit onto this sign, I started by making a collage in Picasa.  Then I formatted it to fit on a 4×6 picture.  It took three 4×6 collages (roughly 50 pictures) to fill up the front of the sign.
I love how each of these signs turned out and I hope I inspired you to want to grab some and decorate them yourself!

Echo Park Paper Collections | Mid Week Mojo Petunia #8

Petunia – Week 8 of 10
New to Mid Week Mojo?  Get started here

Today we are super thrilled to welcome a guest sketcher to our Mid Week Mojo  Brenda Smith has created dozens of awesome layouts and sketches for us, I am so excited she got to use Echo Park Paper’s Capture Life Collection Kit today for her project. Check out what she made.

Hello my fellow Stealers. I am so happy to be back here with another Midweek Mojo sketch for you. Even more exciting is that I got to use an absolutely fun and adorable line by Echo Park Paper and designed by Allison Kreft, Capture Life. There are so many sunny, bright colors and whimsical patterns like bokeh and brush script lettering. And to my surprise, I was also sent Capture Life in Black and White so I had a bunch of the same patterns in black and white. Let me tell you, I had so much fun making this layout.

First, I’ll show you my sketch. I wanted to play around with layers since there were so many fabulous papers to choose from.

Now, my layout.

I knew I wanted to use the black and white paper with the “all you need is love” as a large part of my background but also had to work in that bokeh paper because it is so fun!

There are so many fun sticker elements in both of these collection packs so I worked a lot of those into my layout.

This was such a fun collection to play with and I can’t wait to make more with it.

I’m looking forward to seeing your interpretations of the sketch this week! Thanks for playing along.

A big congrats to Charissa Miller, you are last week’s winner!
