Now, what is a celebration without some challenges and prizes, right?  Here are your challenges for the weekend.  You have until Sunday at 11:59 pm MT to post your entry. Simply leave a comment with a link to your project on this blog post no later than 11:59 pm Sunday May 5th, 2013.  You can enter as many challenges as you wish, there will be a prize for each challenge.

Challenge #1 – “5″

Since we are celebrating with BabySteals.com’s 5th Birthday this week, create a project with 5 different pattern papers, 5 embellishments (buttons, brads, ribbon, twine, flowers etc) and 5 word-based items (title, journaling, stickers etc)

Challenge #2 - Your favorite song…now

Create a layout inspired by your favorite song right now.  It could be an old favorite or a new one.  It could be the title of your layout or mentioned in the journaling.  Think of Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are” and create a layout of a loved one.  Or maybe it’s Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” and a layout dedicated to your kids.

Challenge #3 – Twine

Since we are showing off twine in today’s Blog Hop, use some twine on your project!  It can be a little or a lot.  Use our awesome Blog Hop participants as inspiration to create something wonderful with twine.

Challenge #4 – Right Now

Create a project about Right Now.  It could be a layout about yourself, one of your kids, how much you love someone, or your hopes and dreams for the rest of the year.  Whatever inspires you about the words “Right Now”

National Scrapbook Day – Online Crop Challenges

In celebration of “NSD” t’s time for another fun-filled, ScrapbookSteals online crop! What does this mean? That tomorrow, Friday 5/4 from 6PM – 10 PM MST, you can join us chatting via UStream online. We will be having giveaways, games and, of course, scrapbooking challenges!

In an effort to give each of you time to complete as many of the crop challenges as possible I am posting the challenges for you today so that you can get prepping and get the wheels turning.

NSD Challenge #1 – This challenge is to complete the Turquoise Mid Week Mojo sketch #1. Here is a copy of the sketch if you haven’t gotten started on it already.

NSD Online Crop Challenge #2 - Turn Back Time: Let’s see a layout about you! Not a layout about the current you, but a layout about you from way back when. Show us your baby photos, elementary days or even a peek at the high school life. Whatever you choose your photos must be from before the age of 25.

NSD Online Crop Challenge #3Sassy Springtime: Now that spring is here and the flowers are in bloom, your challenge is to create a layout about whatever you want but let’s see those spunky spring pinks, yellows, blues and greens. The only other catch is that your layout must include flowers in some way whether it be the paper, embellishments or photos.

NSD Online Crop Challenge #4Stitch it Up!: You are probably well aware that quilting inspired layouts which have a splash of stitching are on the up and up. Your challenge is to use this quilters block as inspiration for your project which can be a layout, altered piece or card. Just be sure that your project includes stitching.

Now that your wheels are spinning on what to create for your challenges, here is what you need to do in order to be eligible for a prize in a random drawing.

  • Your creations need to be posted somewhere online (our Facebook page, an public online gallery, etc) no later than Monday, May 7th at 11:59 PM. Your creation then needs to be linked to the appropriate ScrapbookSteals blog posting. For example, all challenge #1 creations must be posted to the Fancy Pants Off to School blog posting. All challenge #2 creations must be posted to the “Turn back Time” blog posting, all challenge #3 creations must be posted to the “Sassy Springtime” blog posting and all challenge #4 creations must be posted to the “Stitch it Up!” blog posting.
  • A random winner will then be selected for each challenge via random.org and announced on the Turquoise #2 Mid Week Mojo posting next week.

Good luck and have fun! Be sure to stop in tomorrow for our chat and join in on all of the fun.
