Hi! Happy Friday! When Melodee told me I would be working with My Mind’s Eye’s Chalk Studio, I was excited. Not only does this collection have all the elements of the popular chalkboard trend you could want, but MME did a great job of including some wonderful soft colors, too.
I decided I wanted to feature the soft colors and highlight them with the chalkboard elements. I love all the variety of embellishments in today’s steal. It made it easy to add layers and pop to my scrapbook page.
I’ll admit, when I saw the frames in this collection, I was a little scared of them. But then I decided, why not go for it?!? This is the perfect opportunity to try them. So I added 2 layers of Pop Dots under the frame to really make it stand up from the page, and to make it easy to tie my twine around the edge.
I wanted to highlight the words “Smile Together” on the camera paper, so I made sure my frame was positioned over the words (and underlined them) to draw your eye there.
I also wanted to make a card with this collection. (Did you see that this week’s Monday Craft Madness was to make cards? Make sure you check out the post and link up your cards there for a chance to win a great SS prize!) I love the frame that says “This is True Love”. I thought that would be a perfect card for Valentine’s Day.
To soften the edges of the frame, I rounded the corners with a We R Memory Keeper’s Corner Chomper (maybe one of my favorite Scrapbook Steal purchase!) and added just a little white ink on the very edge of the frame. With a simple red embossed heart and a little twine, I had a quick card ready to give my honey.
