We are thrilled to have Charissa Miller today to show a project using the Prima Marketing Adhesive Lace with Gems. I knew this would be a challenge for Charissa but she is always such a good sport and up for a challenge. I am quite impressed with what she created.

When a box of Prima Adhesive Lace arrived, I stared at it for awhile. I’m not a frills, swirls, and gems user in my scrapbooking generally. So they posed a challenge there, plus I really wanted to come up with a different way to use them, instead of using them as a border, banner, or traditional ribbon element. I thought all of the colors worked together beautifully, so I decided to try my hand at making a background out of them.

I just started sticking down the various trims on a diagonal on the kraft cardstock. It was so quick, because the ribbons and gems are all together and all self adhesive. I somewhat attempted to keep the colors apart from each other, but it did not quite work out, but I’m okay with that. I simply trimmed each piece to make sure that it fit across the cardstock.

Once the background was done, I searched through my stash to find papers that matched to build the rest of the layout. The background is quite busy, so I wanted to make sure to keep the rest of the page fairly simple and make sure that I was able to draw attention to the photo despite the busy background.

I’m really happy with how the page came together – the background is interesting and detailed and yet came together in just about 5 minutes! So easy and it really adds a lot to the page.
