I love having chalk in my scrapbooking supply stash. I want to use them more than I do so I am very excited about this awes0me How To-sday from our design team member Candace.

Hey everyone! Candace here from Scrappin’ 2 Little Princesses! So glad you have stopped by for another How To-sday! I recently got my hands on a set of chalk from Pebbles and I created an awesome (EASY) background that I wanted to share with you all! I used my background to make a card.

You will only need a couple items:

  • Chalk
  • Cardstock
  • Cotton Ball
  • Die cut to use as a mask

I thought it would be easiest to prepare a video to show you my technique!

Easy peasy, right?!? I can’t wait to try a water pattern, using a wave die cut! There are tons of possibilities! I also used the chalk to change the shade of some of the paper used in my sun die.

All of the pieces (other than the tongue and glasses) were cut from the same yellow cardstock, but I used an orange shade of chalk to color the spot where the mouth would show through. I also added some dimension onto the edges of the layers with the same orange chalk.

Here is a list of the supplies I used to make the rest of my card:

  • Pebbles Basics Cardmaking Pad
  • Pebbles Basics Pattern Paper
  • American Crafts Knock Out Punch
  • American Crafts twine
  • Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons sun
  • Peachy Keen sentiment stamp
  • Glossy Accents

I hope I have inspired you to play with some chalk! Have an awesome day!
