Love My Tapes Washi

Today’s blog brings me a mix of strong emotions. First, it makes me so happy to see what our amazing design team has done with today’s steal, the Love My Tapes Washi. These girls bring it to the table each and every time they create! Second, it brings me those happy-sad tears as this is the final post from our outstanding Summer Team. These girls have been a true delight to work with and my life has been enriched by their talents, kindness, and friendship!

Without further delay, I present the final creations from the Summer Team!

Let’s kick things off with projects from the amazing Katrina Hunt. She always has a way with thinking outside of the box. Katrina took washi to a new level by creating an altered canvas, a card with die cutting washi and coasters! These are some absolutely great gift ideas because the holidays will be here before we know it.

Katrina says the altered canvas is really easy to do, but be make sure to seal it! She used a matte medium gel to cover the entire project.

When using washi with a die cutting machine, simply place the washi on cardstock and then cut! Katrina used her Cameo to help create this card with no trouble at all.

Lastly, Katrina found inspiration on the Design Dreams Japan blog to create  customized coasters.

Next lets take a peek at the amazing projects by Kerys Sharrock. Kerys had Halloween treats on the brain and created this darling altered Prima flower bottle.

She also put the sketch that Regina created for Mid Week Mojo—Pearl 7, to use on this darling Halloween frame.

I secretly love that Kerys was given washi tapes that make great Halloween projects because this witch card and Halloween wreath are truly exceptional! Be sure to stop by Kerys’ blog for extra info on these projects.

Lastly we finish things up with projects from the girl that totally deserves Mom of the Year award. Not only has Regina Mangum already made a positively darling mini album ready for photos of her sons upcoming reptile themed birthday party, but she is arranging for live wiggly, squirmy and creepy-crawly reptiles to be at the birthday party. Yup. Coolest mom and mini album ever.

The past three months have flown by so quickly and I want these three amazing ladies to know how much they will be missed. You are all so very dear to me and I love you as if you were my sisters! (I don’t have any, so I’ll just claim you anyway.) Thank you for putting up with all of my craziness and for helping us work out the kinks in the design team process. Good luck in all that you do and know that there will always have a warm chair waiting for you here at!  MWAH!

For those of you wondering when we will be announcing the three amazing fresh faces of the fall term, be sure to check into the blog next Tuesday at 9AM MST for a little meet and greet. You are all definitely in for a continuation of W-O-W!

Fancy Pants Designs October 31 Collection

It’s a little bit scary that we are already at the end of September. One thing I genuinely look forward to at this time of year is the abundance of fall colors, the crispness in the air, and that favorite holiday when I met my husband nearly 23 years ago! In celebration of Halloween, Design Team member Regina Mangum wows our world with today’s steal the Fancy Pants Designs October 31 collection.

I was so excited to get to play with the Oct. 31 collection from Fancy Pants—Halloween is such a fun holiday and I love, love, love the non-traditional color palette. I created a few projects for you today, beginning with a treat box and card set!

I created a card using one of the fun panels included on the patterned paper. There were so many I could make a ton of cards! This one was so cute, and I loved that I could make a coordinating box for treats. The collection’s ribbon is darling, as are the wonderful buttons. They’re perfect colors for embellishing any project! The treat box makes use of one of the terrific chipboard elements. I’ll be filling this with candy corn and giving to a friend of mine who adores that sweet treat!

I couldn’t resist making another card with the gorgeous patterned paper. I love these little pumpkin design embellishments and I added the “Boo” and witch’s hat from the chipboard elements. The teal color really pops and is so unexpected!

Finally, I had to make a layout for when my son was a funny little skeleton for Halloween. The alpha stickers are so pretty and the papers are so vibrant—those pennant chipboard elements are to die for!

Thanks so much to for introducing me to a new company. This collection blew me away and I have plenty left over for non-Halloween projects too!

Regina, as always, your projects are absolutely outstanding. You made me even more excited for Halloween! You have been an absolute joy to have on our team and I’m so excited that tomorrow we are lucky enough to see amazing projects from you, Katrina and Kerys. A day not to be missed, for sure!

We R Memory Keepers Anthologie Collection | Mid Week Mojo

Coral – Layout 2

There are two things that make me really, really happy. (Okay, there are a bunch but you get the idea). Mid Week Mojo and We R Memory Keepers. Imagine my delight when that superstar of a buyer Brittany Perry told me I’d be fortunate enough to work with today’s steal, the We R Memory Keepers Anthologie Collection. Yessiree, it just doesn’t get better than this! Perfect embellishments, a soothing and unique color palate, and subtle vintage designs are the perfect recipe for some good crafty fun!

As I was sifting through my printed photos I settled on this sweet photo of my boys who both crawled into my bed one morning fell back to sleep. As crazy as they make me at times with their fighting and screaming, it’s moments like this that make every moment that is tough absolutely worth it. Perfect little angels!

For the base of my layout I used one of the bracket die cut sheets in the collection and cut it down. I also cut a strip off of the doily edged die cut sheet to complete my border.

I love the mix of papers in this collection. I used my Silhouette to cut out some hearts and varied the prints to show off a great variety of the collection.

I also loved this die cut embellishment as it really does sum up my feelings for these little dudes and it also has a dreamy, wispy feel.

I can guarantee you that this is one of those collections that I will be using up every last scrap! I love it. Well done We R Memory Keepers and well done to all of you on the first week of the Coral series as well. I think we are in for some great fun this round. As always, we are happy to congratulate one lucky winner and this week that person is Melanie Carey.

Imaginisce Makin’ Waves

Today we have a nice little break from our regular How To’sday with a blog post by the amazing employee Tedi Palmer. Tedi recently made a road trip across the country to South Carolina and when the opportunity came up for her to scrapbook some of those beachy photos with today’s steal, the Imaginisce Makin’ Waves collection, we certainly couldn’t pass it up!

• • • • •

I’m so happy to be posting here again at! I went on a wonderful vacation this past summer and was excited when they gave me “Makin’ Waves” by Imaginisce. It goes so well with my pictures! :) I love how this kit is packed full of details and cute summer sayings.

The paper I used for my first page was perfect for the beach trip we just took. I thought the cute boy and girl in their swim attire matched perfect with the hubby and I in our swim attire.

On the next page I included all the backs of the paper in a hexagon shape using the silhouette I bought from The shapes were perfect for adding multiple pictures to a page, which is what I’m all about.

Finally, I created a card. What’s a project without a card?!  It’s bright and fun and perfect for accompanying sweet summer treats to a friend or family member.

Thank you so much for letting me guest blog! Hopefully I’ll get to do it again soon. :)

Tedi, your projects with Makin’ Waves are so cute! I’ve never been to that part of the country but seeing your projects makes me want to go! Thank you so much for sharing your time and talents with us. We love having you here on the blog (even though we love the magic you do for behind the scene also!)

Hope everyone has a spectacular day and I’ll see you tomorrow for Mid Week Mojo!

Fiskars Squeeze and Lever Punch | Monday Card Madness #103

Who said exercise has to make you all sweaty and stinky? Not me! In fact, I’m thinking today’s steal, the Fiskars Squeeze and Lever Punches, might just become the next hot fitness trend. Let’s face it, we busy ladies like to multitask! So why not combine crafting with strength training, even if it is just those forearms getting an itty-bitty workout? Your projects will also be transformed into something sleek and sexy with one of these amazing punches, so it’s a total win!

I had so much fun working with the punches today that I couldn’t settle on one particular sketch design. However, I don’t want to leave you all longing so I created this week’s sketch based off my favorite card this week.

I love how easily the banner squeeze punch works. It’s honestly kind of like slicing through room temperature butter! So much for building those muscles, but hoorah for building cute cards!

Of course the banners were calling to be used again…

…and again!

Then I made a couple of cards using the Jenni Bowlin Grandma’s Doily punch. It works great to create a window border.

Or to add a simple splash.

Gotta love a card that packs a punch! :)

The cards that have been popping up on our Facebook page this week have been amazing! I particularly loved this card by Charissa Miller.

Just in case you didn’t know we love to give away free scrappy swag to those of you that participate in our Monday Card Madness sketches.

If you’d like to enter to win our September Monday Card Madness swag package:

  • Create any or all of the weekly Monday Card Madness sketches.
  • Post the card to our Facebook fan page, or any other online location.
  • Leave a comment on one of the Monday Card Madness blog posts with a link to your card no later than 11:59 pm, MST on Friday, September 28th.

Have fun creating cards this week!
